Love Comes To Me
Chapter 574: The boss said he wanted it alive

"Daddy?"

After he walked out of the door, Solomon emerged from the bedroom.

Sleepy-eyed and with a doll in her arms, she saw the back of Hector pushing his suitcase away and called out in confusion.

But Hector didn't hear it and took off in a big stride.

Solomon frowned, walked down the stairs and asked Mrs Matriarch, "Grandma, where's Daddy going?"

A troubled look fills the large eyes.

"He's out on some business and won't be back for a couple of days, don't worry, wait until the day your little uncle gets engaged and daddy will be back." Without telling Solomon the truth, Mrs Matriarch took Solomon into her arms and explained vaguely.

All three were looking at Hector's departing back, vaguely, evoking a touch of unease.

One can only say a silent prayer that nothing happens to Hector.

In the south of France, in a basement, Agnes is huddled on the cold floor with her hands and feet chained.

In the airtight basement, where light does not shine in, the room is dark and fear spreads throughout the body.

Agnes wore her hair loose and a foul stench emanated from her body.

One foot was twisted in a strange position, but the expression on his face remained unusual, as if he did not feel any pain at all.

Knowing that someone else was watching her nearby, she pricked her ears up and cowered, pretending to be drowsy.

Still some distance away from the men, Agnes heard the sound of conversation.

One man stood up and stretched, asking casually, "The boss is coming, isn't he?"

The weariness was evident in their eyes; they had not slept for days on end to capture Agnes and had finally squatted on this woman.

"Well, the boss said he and the boss are already on their way over here, they left yesterday, so they should be close."

Someone answered his question.

Agnes bit down on her tattered lower lip in a death grip, vaguely guessing who the boss they were talking about was, and her body shuddered uncontrollably. Hector, the name that haunted her like a nightmare for three years.

A cold fear is etched in her bones, as grim and deadly and solemn as Hades.

The leg that was broken a few years ago hurts vaguely.

The feeling of pain through the marrow of her bones once again tangled up like a vine, suffocating her.

She clenched her fists and pressed her cheek to the ground, not daring to move a muscle.

"The woman isn't dead, is she? The boss said she wanted her alive."

The discussion that had just stopped sounded again.

Feeling eyes fall on him, Agnes' eyes fluttered and she even held her breath.

"I don't think so, it's only been three days of starvation, and yesterday I gave a mouthful of water to hang on to for dear life."

The words fall to the ground and the brothers move towards the central huddled mass with serious expressions.

Hector had told them to leave her alive, and if she died, they couldn't afford to be angry.

The blood seemed to freeze and Agnes' heart leapt out of her chest as the sound of footsteps approached.

Her face was pale, her nails digging into the ground with a deadly grip, her eyes squeezed shut, intent on playing dead. "Gollum..."

The gloomy atmosphere was broken by a rumbling sound coming from the stomach.

The two brothers guarding Agnes looked at each other and froze in place.

"You didn't eat this morning?"

One of them asked.

"Bullshit, can't you hear it coming from that woman!"

The other man gave him a blank look, but was relieved.

Having just watched Agnes move as if she wasn't even breathing, they thought they had starved the man to death. "Tch, is this woman playing dead, scaring me, let me nourish her awake!"

The man said, grimacing as he walked towards Agnes.

Agnes, lying on the ground with her face ashen, her eyes closed and not wanting to move at the moment.

When he was discovered, he calmed down a bit, thinking that they would have left him alive anyway, so whatever.

"Knock Knock..."

The sound of leather shoes scraping against the floor came from above and echoed through the empty basement, creating an echo. The man who was walking towards Agnes was pulled to stand in the doorway.

"The boss is here, stop fooling around and get over here!"

Agnes' body suddenly shuddered hard as she listened to the rhythmic sound.

Within moments, the door to the basement was pushed open.

A beam of light pierced in at once, filling the dark, damp basement with light.

The naked eye can see the dust particles floating in that beam of light, darkness, nowhere to hide.

At the door, stood a man with an erect figure.

He was followed in unison by a line of men, their handsome faces falling in shadow against the light.

A pair of obsidian eyes, devoured with depth and darkness.

"Boss!"

The two brothers in charge of the watch bent down in unison and called out loudly to the man.

"Where is she?"

A cold, dark voice rang out like the presence of Caesar himself, wrapped in a murderous chill that sent shivers down Agnes' spine. Recognising the owner of the voice, she could no longer remain calm.

"It's in there."

The brother at the door answered Hector's words and sidled up to guide him in.

The footsteps sounded again and Agnes was dominated by fear.

Forgetting that she was still handcuffed in chains, she went mad and got up from the ground, about to run away.

But before she could run a few steps, the chain tied to her body came into play.

The harder she pushed, the tighter her wrists and ankles were strangled.

But fear ruled her and Agnes could not calm herself down.

But soon she was dragged back.

"Let me go! Let go of me! Ahhhhh!"

Agnes is still struggling to get free, one leg dragging on the ground.

After being yanked back, she scrambled backwards with a grimace on her face.

As he crawled, he roared hysterically, like a stern ghost dying in front of Hades.

The men around Hector saw this and immediately stepped forward to take control of Agnes.

The arms and legs were each escorted and pressed hard to the front of Hector.

A great haze fell before his eyes and Hector's leather shoes appeared in his vision.

The sight that rested on her was intense, with a monstrous anger that made her tremble all over like a mole.

She didn't dare to look at Hector, but someone had been pinching her chin since, forcing her to look up.

The two looked at each other, one with nothing but fear in his eyes, the other with burning hatred.

Hector's eyes narrowed slightly as he saw Agnes' face, staring at her with a deadly stare.

Agnes is now skinny and skinny throughout and wears her hair in a messy fashion.

When I saw him, my teeth were fighting and there was no trace of blood.

A far cry from the former Thompson family Miss Agnes.
