Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 592: Inside Out
Rowson couldn't help but gaze at Eloise's expression and found that Eloise was indeed lost in thought at the moment. With a thick haze covering his eyes and a preoccupied look, Rowson couldn't help but clench his palms.
Eloise's mind is full of Solomon and Hector, and Solomon's wistful question is always echoing in her head. Asking if she didn't want him, that look on her face and that tone of voice.
Whenever she thought of it, it was as if a lot of dust had built up in her chest and it was so hard to breathe.
She felt like a sinner, and the missing parts of her memory made her panic.
Eloise thought that by leaving North District she would miss the Rogers family less, but her thoughts were even more intense.
Mrs Darlington noticed something was wrong and asked Eloise sideways, "Eloise, what's wrong with you? Are you unwell? Why do you look so pale?" Hearing Mrs Darlington's query, Eloise quickly pulled herself out of her thoughts.
She tilted her head slightly and sketched out a faint smile.
"No, I'm fine, maybe I'm a bit tired after too long a flight."
She pressed her brow, her face showing a few moments of weariness.
Mrs Darlington surveyed her expression and nodded half-heartedly.
"That's true, so go and get some rest and I'll call you when dinner is ready."
When Eloise was about to go upstairs, the little girl looked up at the Darlington family with bewildered eyes.
Mrs Darlington stroked her head lovingly and said, "Go on."
By now Rowson had also slowed down and helped carry Eloise's suitcase to the bedroom.
Mrs Darlington looked at the two men's backs in thought.
The interaction between the two men was much more raw, and both looked preoccupied, clearly hiding something from them.
Eloise she may not know fully, but she can see what her own son is feeling.
From the moment he entered the door, his brow had not been lifted.
Looking at Eloise, mother and daughter, they too had a complicated look on their faces.
"Lao Fu, do you ever think Eloise and our Rowson are a bit strange?"
She poked her elbow at Mr. Darlington Sr. who was next to her.
"Where's the weirdness, you're overthinking it." Mr. Darlington Sr shook his head.
"Never mind, I can't understand it with you, I'll go and replace out later." Mrs Darlington made up her mind.
In the evening, after the family had eaten, Eloise took Sweety to the bathroom for a bath.
Rowson, on the other hand, went into the study alone to stay.
Mrs Darlington seized the opportunity to take a cup of coffee and brought it into the study, ready to ask her son.
A symbolic knock on the door, "Son, can Mom come in?"
"Well, it's all right, you can come in."
Rowson was not in the mood for business either, so he put the papers aside and looked up at Mrs Darlington.
Seeing that his mother looked like she was about to say something, Rowson asked, "Mum, do you have something to say?"
Mrs Darlington sniffed and nodded.
She pulled a chair up next to Rowson and sat down, lowering her voice to ask, "Rowson, tell Mum honestly, did you and Eloise run into something in X?" Rowson froze for a moment, not expecting Mrs Darlington to be so perceptive in sensing that something was wrong.
He frankly told the whole story of what he had encountered in the North District.
"The man who picked up the girl earlier and the little boy we met in the North District as well and then something happened and they met up with Eloise.
It seems to be Eloise's former deceased friend, the little boy is pulling Eloise to call her mummy, and Eloise is most likely the man's wife too... I'm in a bit of a mess and don't know what to do."
Rowson's eyes traced a slight bitterness in them and his voice trembled slightly as he said these words, clutching his head in chagrin.
Mrs Darlington's face had changed abruptly when she heard that Hector and Solomon were Eloise's husband and son.
"Alas, what a coincidence in this world!" Mrs Darlington could not resist a heavy sigh.
To meet in a circle, God forbid that Eloise should stay with them?
"Tell me about you, you only know the rush now, you were told to do it earlier, you had to wait for Eloise to regain her memory, really, ugh!"
With that said, Mrs Darlington complained about her son again, in a hateful sort of way.
Rowson's remorse had risen to a fever pitch by now, and drooped, not answering, with a growing restlessness in his heart.
Looking at her son's dishevelled state, Mrs Darlington couldn't bear to teach him any more.
There was a glint of determination in her eyes as Mrs Darlington put her arm around Rowson's shoulders and admonished him, "It's too late for regrets, Rowson, promise Mum you'll start courting Eloise now and maybe things will work out!" Even if it's a mending of the fold, that's something to try!
Mrs Darlington's will was conveyed and Rowson's eyes were filled with fighting spirit as he nodded his head and replied, "Well, I won't back down this time!"
When he raised his eyes, a wave of hostility erupted from those cool eyes.
That's why he's never going to back down again, one more step and he'll really lose Eloise and Sweety!
"Ah Jo ..."
At that end of the bedroom, Sweety was wrapped in a white bathrobe and carried out of the bath.
Once out, she sat up restlessly, her robe open, her white skin exposed to the air, and the little girl couldn't help but sneeze.
Eloise followed the sound and walked over quickly to bring the trousers that the little girl was making a fuss about and refused to wash off.
Looking at the little girl sitting on the edge of the bed, he did not resist giving a lecture.
"Didn't I tell you to lie still?"
Turn up the temperature of the air conditioner and help the little girl put her clothes back on.
As soon as she was dressed, the little girl immediately jumped up and down on the bed.
Turning in a circle in front of Eloise, she asked with interest, "Mummy, does Sweety smell good?"
Eloise said with amusement, "Can you not smell good when you've just had a shower?"
"That's good!"
With a happy smile on her face, she threw her arms around Eloise's neck and pouted, "I want to talk to my brother on video, can I? Please Mummy!" Eloise looked puzzled for a moment, then reacted and found an excuse to refuse, "It's not that Mummy won't let me, Mummy doesn't have their contact details." Sweety's pitch-black pupils flashed with a flash of light.
She nimbly picked up the pair of trousers that Eloise had taken out and dug around in them with her little hands, pulling out a note.
It was spread out like a treasure, and there was a series of numbers written on it.
"I have!" The little girl puffed up her chest and smiled with a brow arched.
Eloise was stunned, "Where did you get that?"
The little girl smiled like a little fox, afraid that Eloise would backtrack.
She grabbed her arm and shook it, begging, "Before we left, my brother slipped this to me, saying we could video.
