Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 687: Open the door!
Seeing him like this, Mrs Matriarch looked worried.
"What's going on? Did you and Eloise have a falling out?"
Hector has always been so good to Eloise, so good to her, that they shouldn't be fighting.
Why the sudden change now?
As several people were speculating, Hector spoke up unexpectedly, "She's divorcing me and her wedding to Rowson is scheduled for next month." The news was certainly a bolt from the blue for those present.
"What?!" Rupert shouted in shock.
Even after thinking of all the possibilities, I didn't expect Eloise to come forward with the word divorce.
How sad this will be for Hector.
Rupert couldn't help but look at Hector with a worried look on his face.
Mrs Darlington was also taken aback and said quickly, "What about it? Did she speak to you personally?"
"Well, and by choice."
Hector's tone is flat and mechanically textured, without a hint of emotion.
His eyes were covered in a darkness that let in no light.
As if thinking of something, Rupert jumped directly in front of Hector and asked incredulously, "So now you're the one who promised her?"
Hector moved his lips and it took a lot of effort to squeeze a word out from between his teeth, "Hmm."
The words landed and the living room was silent for a few seconds.
The information was so overwhelming that Mrs Matriarch and the others were completely stunned and did not react.
It's simply not possible...
The sound of a glass breaking suddenly rang out from the stairway entrance.
Mrs Matriarch's heart skipped a beat as the four people in the living room turned around in unison to see Solomon standing at the stairway in his cartoon T-shirt.
Apparently, what Hector had just said had been heard by Solomon.
Solomon's eyes were red in a circle and he ignored a few people.
Turning around, he ran upstairs on his short legs and was gone in a flash.
"Solomon!" cried Mrs Matriarch, out of breath.
Hector froze for a second and immediately ran after them.
Mrs Matriarch gripped Mr Fletcher's arm, so anxiously that she didn't know what was coming out of her mouth.
"Mr Fletcher, what to do? What can we do? Solomon must have heard what we said, he knows that Eloise is going to divorce Hector! Solomon loves Eloise so much and has always wanted Eloise to be his mummy... What can we do?" "Don't you worry, Hector has gone after him and Solomon will listen to him." Mr Fletcher spoke out in reassurance.
But now Mrs Matriarch is so anxious that tears are coming out of her eyes that she can't think of anything else.
"How can I not be anxious? Solomon has only just come out of his original self-imposed space, what if he relapses after being stimulated like this?"
At these words, Rupert and Mr Fletcher's hearts went cold; neither of them had considered this before.
"Dad, you stay here and watch Mum, I'll go up and have a look."
With that Rupert followed in a huff.
Aisly stopped Mrs Matriarch who wanted to follow her out and softly reassured her, "Mum, don't worry, Solomon just can't accept this right now, just talk to him and he'll be fine."
It was only after hearing Aisly's words that Mrs Matriarch sort of calmed down.
However, Mrs Matriarch's heart couldn't take it when she thought back to how heartbroken Solomon had just been, and tears were falling down her face.
"Solomon the boy is heartbreaking."
Having a mummy is worse than having no mummy at all.
On the other side, Hector went after him, but his reaction was half a beat slower and he was blocked by the closed door of the room.
Solomon drew the curtains to his room and cowered in the corner in a small ball.
No matter how much Hector shouted, he ignored it all.
"Solomon, open the door!"
"Solomon!"
"Open the door!"
...
Seeing Solomon's delay in opening the door, Hector was in an irritable mood.
He took a few steps backwards, ready to violently bang on the door.
But Rupert arrived just in time to intercept Hector.
The words flew, "Brother, calm down, don't bang on the door! Have you forgotten that Solomon is autistic? If you stimulate him like that, what if he can't think straight and jumps off the building?!" At Rupert's words, Hector's tyrannical mood quickly eased, "Is he just going to be left alone in there?"
Leaving the phone's interface on the call screen, Rupert said, "I've just contacted the psychiatrist and will be here soon, so don't worry."
Hector took a deep breath, forced himself to calm down and stood against the wall.
Seeing that Hector's mood had collected, Rupert whispered inquiringly, "Brother, are you just going to give up?"
"Or what? Watching her struggle left and right?" Hector asked bitterly in return.
Was there a better way now than to make her whole?
He could not have imagined.
Seeing the broken look on his face, Rupert became impatient and grabbed Hector's shoulders and shook them, desperately trying to suppress his overly loud voice.
"How is that difficult, look at Solomon in this state, do you want him to seclude himself? He can't be without his mummy, brother!"
Rupert's words are not without merit, but Hector really has no choice...
One had to stare at the closed door of the room without speaking.
There was a delay in the sound coming from Solomon's room and the two brothers simply sat in front of Solomon's door and waited. Until it gets dark.
There was a 'click' and the door to Solomon's room opened from the inside.
Both Hector and Rupert were stunned.
They hurriedly got up and Rupert spoke with concern, "Solomon, are you okay? Nothing we said before was actually true, was it, brother?" Said Rupert, passing a look to Hector, who nodded obediently.
"Mummy is going to have a ceremony with Uncle Fu, it's not what Solomon thinks."
"Well, it's okay."
With a breezy reply, Solomon went downstairs.
This reaction was a bit baffling to the two upstairs.
Does Solomon believe this or does he not?
But they would rather Solomon was convinced.
The next day, Solomon went to school as usual, returned on time and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
On the third day, it was also business as usual.
...
Darlington family on the other side.
Sweety also senses that the atmosphere in the house is not right, Mummy and Papa Fu never talk to each other.
Even Grandma has changed her appearance and home is no longer home.
She tried to call her brother, but there was always no answer on his end.
But she couldn't contact her dad, or she would have called him.
Tossing her phone on the side of the bed, the little girl sulked a little.
Time passes and the wedding draws near.
On this day Eloise and Hector went together to the Civil Registry to get a divorce, and neither of them spoke the whole way.
Hector drove in silence, his lips pursed tight, the side of his face cold and hard as a statue.
Eloise, who was also having a hard time, looked out of the window in silence.
Suddenly, Hector's mobile phone rang.
He glanced at it, picked it up, and within two words, his expression suddenly changed.
A sharp brake brought the car to a halt at the side of the road.
