Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 849: I'm afraid it won't be peaceful
That Khan family in Kyoto is said to be a reclusive family that has been a medicinal herb merchant for generations.
The connections that have been accumulated are extremely extensive and those of the Khan family are intricately connected.
It would be impossible to say it all in one go.
Rupert concluded, "Strictly speaking, they should hold no less power than our family."
Hector was secretly surprised, he was silent for a few seconds and asked out loud, "What is the current situation of this Khan family ?"
Rupert was not sure what the point of his brother asking this was, but he opened his mouth to answer anyway.
"The Khan family is not in peace these days, Master Khan's health is deteriorating and the rest of the Khan family is busy seizing power, it's chaotic." Unlike their parents, who only have their two children and both of whom don't want to be in power and just want to spend time with their wives. Hector sniffed and his brow furrowed at the thought of Eloise going in a few days.
Rupert looked over at him, a little confused, "Brother, why are you asking about this for good reason?"
"Your sister-in-law's mother is from this Khan family in Kyoto."
Rupert's entire body was stunned, "That's quite a coincidence."
I had no idea that Maryam, who seems to be a gentle person, would have this messy Khan family as her mother's family.
Rupert, who knows how chaotic the Khan family in Kyoto is, still sighs silently in his heart.
Hector swept him a look, his voice slightly deep, "No surprise, your sister-in-law may be returning in the near future in place of her mother."
Rupert realised that things did not seem simple and his brow knitted up, curbing his disinterested look and looking more than a little cold and serious under his eyes. "Is there such a thing?"
What was that Master Khan really up to?
Hector's thin lips were pursed as he padded to the window with one hand in his pocket.
The view is in the direction of Kyoto.
His eyes fell in the distance, his dark eyes comparable to the darkness of this night.
"Rupert."
Hector was silent for a moment, then turned to Rupert and spoke out, "The Khan family came over today and said that Master Khan is having a birthday party, and also, about Eloise's mother, check to see if it's true." There was a slight pause in his voice as he added, "Make sure you investigate clearly and not a single thing is left out."
Rupert knows how important Eloise is to Hector.
Even the slightest possibility of hurting his sister-in-law would have been nipped in the bud by his brother.
"Brother, don't worry, I will investigate."
Rupert's face is serious as he responds.
This night, Eloise did not sleep well.
The dream was filled with many broken and messy images alternating between the eyes.
Every time she tried to touch it, to look closer, the image would disappear again.
"Hector," Eloise exclaimed as she jerked awake from her dream and sat up in alarm.
"Eloise, bad dream?"
Hector's large, dry, warm hands grasped her slightly cool ones.
Then, take her into a warm embrace.
"I think so, but I don't remember dreaming about it, Hector, I'd love to go see my mother now." Eloise spoke a little uneasily as she leaned into Hector's arms.
Hector stroked her messy hair with doting eyes, "Okay, let's get up and have some breakfast, then I'll go with you."
Half an hour later.
Eloise stood in the doorway of Maryam's ward.
The ward was empty.
"Doctor? Nurse! Excuse me, where is my mother?"
Eloise panicked and casually pulled a passing nurse to her feet, pointing to the empty ward and asking anxiously.
The nurse glanced at the patient listing on the door of the ward, "Oh, Ms Maryam's condition has deteriorated somewhat and she was transferred to the intensive care unit just now." Eloise took a few steps back as if she had been struck on the head and was in a trance.
Asking which ICU their mother was in, Eloise and Hector rushed over there at a fast pace.
The doctor told Eloise that Maryam had a heart problem in the morning.
But the caretaker found it just in time and has stabilised the situation for the moment.
The next step is still to see how Maryam recovers.
It just takes a long time for her to recover, judging by her physical base.
Eloise's eyes were sore, and after thanking the doctor she stood in the doorway of the ward.
She stared blankly at Maryam, who was losing weight in her hospital bed.
"Eloise, I'm here, don't be afraid."
Hector wrapped his arms around Eloise's waist from behind, his cheek pressed against hers, and said warmly.
Eloise's heart, which was in a state of flux, seemed to be soothed a little with his few simple words, "Well ..."
"Good boy."
Hector did not tell Eloise about the Khan family.
Now Maryam's illness is enough to worry her.
Eloise wrapped her arms around his lean waist and spoke softly, "Hector, go ahead and get busy, I'll stay here with Mum and you can just pick me up when you're free."
She didn't want to hold up Hector's work because of herself.
Hector looked down at her look, his heart softened to the core, how could he not know what she was thinking?
Thinking that Maryam's condition had stabilised for the time being, he rubbed her head gently, "Okay, call me anytime if anything happens, okay?"
"Got it, go and get busy."
When Hector had left, Eloise, with the doctor's permission, entered the room, took Maryam's hand in hers and leaned down to rest her forehead against the back of her hand, "Mum, you must be all right." Hector got out of the hospital and also received a call from Rupert.
"Brother, I've found out about the Khan family, where are you now?"
"Wait until I get home."
Hector hung up the phone and drove back to the Rogers family as fast as he could.
"Brother, that old man Fang is indeed having a birthday banquet, and it's quite lively, inviting a lot of dignitaries."
Rupert was all smiles, his finger tapping on a red invitation on the table.
Hector nodded his jaw, gesturing for him to continue.
If that's all that can be investigated, then Rupert has made a little too little progress over the years.
Rupert understood and thoughtfully continued, "However, despite appearances, I have heard that there seems to be an internal fight over property and I fear that things will not be peaceful." Hector understood and nodded gently, "As long as it doesn't hurt Eloise, it doesn't matter."
"Anyway, it's still risky for your sister-in-law to go to a dark place like that all by herself."
Rupert thought for a moment and said what was on his mind.
"I'll be accompanying Eloise when the time comes."
Doting wives like Hector.
How could he leave his daughter-in-law alone, facing a large number of strangers who knew no good or evil?
