Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 888: Testing
"Hello hello." Arlice nodded towards Aaron in greeting.
Aaron also greeted him politely, without further ado, and stood behind Pierce in a disciplined manner.
You can tell that he has been trained.
"Where are the collaborators?"
Pierce asked impatiently and looked around.
Hector didn't move, silently sizing him up.
"Here it is here it is."
Arlice and Farabee laugh as they bring Pierce to Hector's side.
"This is the head of the SA Group, Pierce."
Farabee introduced Pierce and then, in turn, introduced Hector to Pierce, "This is Hector, he's the herb dealer who supplied me with the western aconite." The reason for this introduction was that Hector had spoken to Farabee and the others in advance.
As to why exactly Hector was so accountable, they were not sure.
But it was clear to them that Hector was someone they needed to bend over backwards to do well, and then they did as well as Hector could explain. "Hello."
Hector politely extended his hand and, despite his low profile, still had an aura of superiority about him.
"Hello."
Pierce smiled and returned the grip, sizing up Hector.
I could see that he was quite impressed with Hector.
"Let's go in and talk."
Both parties exchanged greetings and Farabee led them to the box.
The restaurant Farabee and Arlice booked was very high class, state banquet level, and the food was all delicious.
It is clear that this father and son have gone to a lot of trouble for this project.
The four men were still exchanging pleasantries as they took their seats.
No one mentions the project first, even if they are talking about cooperation, there has to be a step-by-step process.
Farabee smiled and enquired, "Mr Pierce comes to our country often?"
Just now, Pierce was fluent in English.
"Not really, we spend most of our time in Italy and only go abroad when we travel to talk about partnerships."
Pierce stretched his hands, feeling helpless about it.
...
They exchanged pleasantries, and Hector didn't answer, just fell silent, trying to pick up on each of Pierce's answers, looking for clues.
Arlice then gave Farabee a wink, signalling him to go and pour the wine.
Arlice finished his drink and raised his glass: "Mr Pierce, Mr Hector, I'd like to propose a toast to you. Thank you for giving me and my father the opportunity to come and talk to us about our partnership." Hector raises his eyebrows slightly and raises his glass to drink.
The same goes for Pierce.
After drinking the wine, Pierce couldn't help but remark, "This wine tastes good."
This is a highly collectible domestic red wine and commands a high price.
"Where is Mr Hector's company open?"
After chatting about something else for a while, Pierce took the lead in opening up the topic of the project, his eyes falling on Hector.
"City J, Kyoto also has a branch." Hector is unfazed and responsive.
Pierce smiled, thinking that the man in front of him was becoming more and more interesting.
It sounded like the other man's company was not small, so he teased, "Then you must be earning a lot of money."
"It's nothing in front of the SA Group."
Hector smiled lightly and then, with a turn of phrase, he spoke as if casually, "As far as I know, your company is in the business of medical devices and medicines, why would you need to buy western aconite in large quantities?" At this, Pierce paused for a moment as he swirled his glass and said lightly, "To make medicine, naturally."
Hector's heart gave a pounding, it seemed to be as right as he thought, they could indeed be connected to the germ in Eloise's body.
"So that's how it is. I'm not going to lie, I have some other herbs here that have similar medicinal properties to the Western Ocimum, and I would like to ask if you need them?"
Hector looked away from Pierce, watching the expression on his face.
Pierce sniffed and changed his expression slightly, clearly interested.
However, after a moment's reflection, he did not give a direct answer.
I just politely said, "Well, I still need to ask my superiors for specific instructions, I can't make my own decisions."
Hector wasn't surprised, and he said, "That's natural. It's just that the pharmaceutical industry is gaining momentum and there are a lot of people who want that herb, so if your company has a need for it, it would be good to get back to you as soon as possible."
The implication is that herbs are in short supply these days, so don't miss out on this great opportunity.
"From what Mr Hector is saying, the herbs were not produced in large quantities? Where did they all come from?"
Unable to resist the temptation, Pierce was clearly taken with it.
Hector was a little surprised to hear that the SA Group not only needed western aconite, but also a lot of it.
Hector smiled and said vaguely, "If you are sure you need it, I can naturally supply it in large quantities."
Pierce glanced at the compartment door to make sure it was closed before cautiously following up with, "And is the shipment secure?"
Western aconite is known to be toxic, but if the dose is kept within reasonable limits and used for medical treatment, there is no major problem.
Pierce's reaction was a little too cautious.
This leaves Hector to wonder.
He tried to hedge his words, "Naturally, regular businessmen doing regular business, the SA Group I'm sure?"
Naturally, the SA Group is not considered a formal business now, but since it has been able to stay in business, it is clear that it is a black and white business. The power behind it is unknown to who is in control.
Sure enough, when it comes to formalities, there's a flash of disdain in Pierce's eyes, but it's only fleeting.
"Sure."
Pierce finished his reply and added, "That's it then, I'll get back to you when I go back and ask my superiors." They are all businessmen, and things like being set up for a conversation basically don't happen to them.
"I'd like to propose another toast and wish you all a happy collaboration."
Arlice raised his glass again and drank it in one go, and Farabee looked on in relief.
After three rounds of drinks, the group exited the restaurant and said goodbye one by one at the door. "Thank you for your hospitality."
After Pierce finished, he got straight into the stretch Rolls-Royce and took off. Hector watched the car leave, his eyes gradually taking on a bitter look.
The SA Group must not be as simple as they have been told.
