Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 953: Military Orders
The large conference room was silent and the atmosphere was oppressive.
Hector just sat there, not saying a word, but still feeling the powerful aura and sense of oppression inherent in him.
The directors, who are used to seeing big scenes, were more or less baffled.
Edgar looked around the room and coughed softly, "Everyone, Mr Hector will be in attendance throughout the meeting today, so if you have any comments you can make them now." The directors looked at me and looked at you, then lowered their heads in silence.
Seeing this, Arlice sneered, a bunch of useless old guys.
He gave a sideways glance towards Farabee, who comprehended it and rose to his feet.
"Edgar, this is a meeting of the Khan Group and it involves business confidentiality, is it not appropriate for you to allow Mr Hector to attend?"
Goode looked at Arlice and smiled, "Uncle, isn't that a bit of an understatement? Mr Hector is half Khan family, isn't he?"
Farabee and Arlice were not expecting him to speak for Hector and both men turned pale.
Only to hear Goode continue, "It seems you are not aware that the main point of this meeting today is to talk about working with Rogers Group and it is only right that Mr Hector is here." A collaboration with Rogers Group?
Farabee and Arlice were surprised, but did not show it on their faces.
Arlice laughed, "So that's what happened. It was my dad who misunderstood."
Good phrase misunderstood.
This would have been a simple way of trying to disguise their original intentions.
They are not allowed to do what they want.
"Brother, I don't think that's a misunderstanding, it's simply a matter of having a problem with Mr Hector." Goode had a smile on his face, but it sent a chill down his back.
"You're overthinking it, my dad didn't mean that." Arlice put away his smile and gave him a cold glance before turning to Edgar, "We don't have any comments, let's meet." Edgar swept them up without saying much and simply called the meeting to order.
Just as Goode said, the meeting was indeed related to the Rogers Group partnership.
Edgar mentioned that the Khan Group's focus for the next quarter will be on a biotechnology company with the Rogers Group, focusing on the development of biologics technology. The directors listened and everyone's eyes lit up with great anticipation.
It was Goode, who spoke for Edgar earlier, who questioned it.
"There are so many biotech companies now, do you think we can stand out?"
Edgar smiled lightly, "With investment comes risk. And since it was my decision to work with Rogers Group, all risks are on me."
In other words, once the partnership is successful, they will all receive a share of the dividends.
If it fails, Edgar will take it all on himself.
No one would object to such a good deed.
Farabee and Arlice looked at each other, both with a twinkle in their eyes.
"I still don't believe it." Farabee said.
Edgar looked over at him, "And what would it take for the eldest to believe that?"
"Make a military order."
"Military orders?" Edgar's eyes widened in surprise.
"Exactly. If it fails, you give up the presidency."
At these words, the others were shocked.
"Uncle, aren't you falling on your sword?" Goode said this with his mouth, but in fact he was secretly pleased.
If Edgar does make a military order, then when he fails, he will have to hand over the Khan Group and he will have a chance.
I thought Edgar would be reluctant, but he said yes in a heartbeat.
"Okay, I'll sign it."
Hector gave him an impassive look, his lips curling into a few sneers.
Khan family people will always know how to replace opportunities to trip up their own people, but unfortunately their plans are going to fall flat. This partnership will only succeed and not fail.
Edgar asked his assistant to print out the military orders and then signed his name without hesitation with a wave of his hand. After signing, he looked up and scanned the group, curving his lips, "Any other questions, folks?"
Farabee eagerly ran over to pick up the signed marching orders for a better look, smiling smugly as she saw Edgar's signature. "Edgar, since you've signed on, of course we all believe you. Right, guys?"
He turned his head to ask the others for their opinion.
The others rushed to agree, "Yes, we all believe that."
Edgar got up and looked at them, not hiding the mockery in his eyes, "In that case, the meeting is adjourned."
"Hector, let's go." He turned his head to Hector.
Hector nods his head.
The two men walked out of the conference room side by side.
Watching them leave, Farabee said smugly to Arlice, "It looks like Edgar was stupid enough to sign the military order so easily." Arlice sneered, "If he dares to sign, we dare to pull him down from that position."
"So what do we do?"
Arlice glanced across at Goode who hadn't left yet, "Go back and talk."
Seeing Farabee and Arlice get up to leave, Goode followed suit, his eyes narrowed and a sharp look appeared in them.
That Arlice must be up to something bad again.
However, it is not known who will die this time.
...
Back in his office, Edgar turned around with a long sigh of relief.
"Hector, you said I signed that military order, didn't you?"
"What difference does it make if you sign or don't sign?" Hector asked instead of answering.
Edgar laughed, "No difference. They're not going to let me off the hook whether I sign or not, so might as well do it, I'm not going to lose anyway."
"It's good to be confident." Hector walked over and sat down, lifting his eyes, "I'll let Thomas talk to you about the specifics of the company." "Good."
Edgar pondered for a moment and asked, "Hector, there's a charity gala tomorrow night, would you like to bring your cousin along?" "No." Hector refused.
This time he came to the capital just to accompany Eloise and did not want to get too involved in the circle of power on this side of Kyoto.
"Actually ..." Edgar sat down opposite him and hesitated before continuing, "I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce Eloise to you all, she's from the Khan family. "
Hector pondered for a moment and nodded, "Fine then, I'll go back and talk to Eloise, if she agrees then we'll go, if not forget it."
"Thanks Hector."
In fact, Edgar had a personal agenda in mind, he wanted everyone to know about the partnership between Khan Group and Rogers Group, which would somewhat benefit him in the business world in the future. Hector did not stay long at the Khan Group and soon left.
He returns to the Khan family and runs into Brimlad and Eloise who are getting ready to go out. "You're back." Eloise looked at him in surprise.
"Hmm." Hector scanned the insulated lunchboxes they were carrying, "I'll take you to the hospital." "You haven't had lunch yet, have you? Hurry in and eat, we'll just go by ourselves." Brimlad said. "It's okay, I'm not hungry."
Hector took the things they were holding and turned to stride out.
