Love’s Little Miracles By Chloe Wallis -
Chapter 57
Chapter 57
After Riley stopped the car, he found a set of clothes and handed it to Caroline. He said, “Ms. Lewis, I’ve checked. Recently, a group of psychiatric specialists from overseas is coming to inspect the Westwood Psychiatric Hospital. However, that group of people hasn’t arrived today. We can take advantage of the time difference.”
Caroline unfolded it, and inside was a white coat. She asked, “Why don’t we just go in and look for Zachary in the name of visiting?”
“I don’t think so. Zachary has no relatives, and the hospital doesn’t accept visitors. It’s difficult for ordinary people to see him,” said Riley.
“I see!”
Therefore, they successfully disguised themselves according to the information of the psychiatric expert group investigated by Riley.
Riley was disguised as Professor Adkins, the leader of the expert team. He had a beard, a wig, and glasses. It was hard to distinguish him from the foreign Professor Adkins.
Caroline pretended to be his female assistant. She wore black contact lenses and a black wig. She was no different from a foreign woman.
After dressing up, the two of them walked into the mental hospital.
Riley came prepared. When he entered, he showed his certificate and ID. Caroline glanced at it and couldn’t help but admire Riley’s ability to apply for the fake certificates.
He was absolutely genius!
The fake identity certificates helped them successfully get away with it. The hospital staff respectfully and happily welcomed them in.
Inside, a long banner was hung on the hospital building. The yellow words were printed on its red background, “Welcome the visit of Professor Adkins, the internationally renowned psychiatrist.”
The news had been sent in. Someone informed the director that the foreign expert had arrived.
Soon, the director brought all the doctors and nurses out to welcome them. The scene was quite spectacular.
“Welcome, welcome…”
Grant Hoffman, the director, even stepped forward to shake hands with them. “Professor Adkins, you are most welcome! I warmly welcome you on behalf of all the medical staff in our hospital.”
Grant spoke Chanacan. He even arranged for an interpreter to translate his words.
After listening. Riley nodded and shook hands with Grant. He used pure Ustranasion to thank Dr. Hoffman for his warm. welcome. The interpreter translated his words back.
In this way, Riley successfully passed the test with a realistic appearance and fluent Ustranasion. Caroline only needed to carry her bag and accompany him with a smile from beginning to end.
Dr. Hoffman invited them into the hospital’s conference room. The two sides had further exchanges.
After going through the necessary procedures, Dr. Hoffman wanted to ask him to impart some experience in treating mental illnesses. Riley used it as an excuse to propose selecting a few mental patients for face–to–face communication. Grant agreed and got someone to bring the list of patients in the hospital for him to choose from.
Riley had found Zachary on the list. Hence, he symbolically chose a few people, including Zachary. He said to Grant, “Dr. Hoffman, these few people are more typical. I want to meet them.”
Grant read the names on the list and realized that Zachary was also in the middle. He said awkwardly, “Professor Adkins, this patient Zachary not only has a mental illness, but he also has a serious tendency to violence. I’m worried that he will hurt you. Why don’t you replace him with someone else?”
“No need! I have a unique way to handle such extreme cases. Please arrange it as soon as possible, Dr. Hoffman!”
Grant soon provided a therapeutic room with Caroline and Riley inside..
The first few people they brought were all ordinary patients. Riley symbolically checked them and wrote down their records. Finally, when it was Zachary’s turn, Riley asked the hospital staff to leave.

Chapter 57
After closing the door, Riley quickly got up and gave his seat to Caroline. After all, Caroline was his Boss. It had been hard on her to be his sidekick today.
Caroline sat down to rest. Riley said to Zachary, “Zachary, come over!”
The middle–aged man in front of them looked ordinary. His head was tilted, and his legs were limping. His hair was messy. and one of his hands was trembling like he had Parkinson’s.
Many scars could be seen on his exposed arms. It was unknown if they were left behind by abuse or self–torture.
Zachary was mentally unstable. “Zachary, do you remember where you worked two years ago?” Riley asked him a question.
Zachary only looked at them in a daze with trembling hands and did not answer them.
“Do you remember the Valley Funeral Home?”
Riley said it directly, but Zachary still did not respond.
Seeing him like this, Riley felt anxious. He grabbed Zachary’s neck and asked, “Zachary! The Valley Funeral Home. Do you remember it? You were still there as a cremator two years ago! Isn’t that right? Speak!”
Zachary still had no reaction. He was really different from other mental patients. Others could still communicate simply.
No matter how Riley hinted, the other party remained silent.
“Riley, let go of him! Let me do it!” said Caroline.
There was only one way to deal with such a severe mental patient and obtain something valuable from him. It might be
effective.
The deep hypnosis.
Caroline took out a pocket watch and waved it back and forth in front of Zachary’s eyes until he fell into a coma.
Caroline began to ask him leading questions, guiding him back to August 6, five years ago.
“Zachary. Remember August 6, five years ago? Did you ever cremate a woman called Lydia Thompson?
“Think about it, Lydia Thompson! She was sent to the funeral home on August 6th! Were you on duty that day?
“Was Lydia cremated by you? What happened then?”
Under the guidance of Caroline, the initially unresponsive Zachary changed gradually.
His eyes were still closed, but a look of horror appeared. His mouth began to cry out.
“Don’t… don’t…”
Zachary spoke!
Caroline and Riley looked at each other and continued to ask, “Don’t what? What did you see at that time?”
“Don’t kill me! Don’t… don’t kill me… Don’t kill me…”
At this moment, Zachary did not know what he had recalled. It was as if he had fallen into a terrifying nightmare and was particularly terrified.
His body also began to twitch and tremble. He slipped off the chair and curled up as if he wanted to hide.
Caroline felt Zachary must have remembered what happened five years ago and had seen something. “Zachary! What exactly did you see? Tell me quickly! Is it related to Lydia? Who wants to kill you?”
However, Zachary seemed to have a seizure and was foaming at his mouth. Caroline could not continue asking and could only remove the hypnosis in advance.
After the hypnosis ended, Zachary collapsed to the ground. His convulsions stopped, and the terrified expression on his
face eased.
Riley looked at the man on the ground and said, “He said not to kill him. Could it be that someone wanted to kill him at that time? What does he mean?”
Caroline could not know more, but she could guess that Zachary must have experienced something on that day five years
ago.
Moreover, it was very likely that it had something to do with her mother’s ashes being swapped!
In the end, Caroline said, “I’m not sure either, but I have a strong feeling that something must have happened on the day my mother was cremated. If I want to know clearly the situation at that time, I have to replace the others as soon as possible. Then I might replace out the truth back then!”
