Chapter 66
Yvonne was treated as a “fly” by Quintin. She was very unhappy, but she seemed to have discovered something incredible.
She waved her hand in front of Quintin’s eyes and realized he did not react at all.
“Can’t Mr. Ziegler see me?”
Yvonne had also privately inquired about Quintin’s situation. She heard that he could not move, and his eyes were not in good condition.
She wondered, “Does that mean he is really blind?
“Well, if he really is a blind man, what’s there to fight for?
“I don’t want to serve a blind and crippled man!
“Caroline can do it herself!”
With that thought in mind. Yvonne instantly felt alright again.
She smiled and said, “I thought Mr. Ziegler had completely recovered! Forget it. I just wanted to tell you that the last time you went home, you almost angered Grandma to death. Now that she’s in the hospital, shouldn’t you apologize to her?”
“Aren’t you afraid that she’ll die even faster if she sees me?”
Yvonne was speechless. Caroline pushed Quintin away, and the wheelchair deliberately rolled over her instep.
“Ouch, my foot! Caroline Lewis, you’ve crushed my foot!”
“Serves you right!”
Caroline did not even turn back.
Looking at the woman’s cold back, Yvonne stomped her feet in anger.
She thought, “Damn it, Caroline Lewis, don’t be happy too early!
“You will have your downfall!”
Caroline brought Quintin to his checkup. After receiving the results, she pushed him to look for a doctor.
“Which doctor are you taking me to?” Quintin asked.
“A very powerful general practitioner. He’s my friend. I asked him to prescribe your medicine for you.” Caroline explained.
“Male or female?”
Quintin’s intuition told him that the other party was most likely a man.
“Male.”
It was just as he expected.
He thought she was merely using him as an excuse to look for other men.
Caroline pushed Quintin into the chief physician’s office. John Shelton had been waiting for a long time. When he saw them coming, he stood up to welcome them.
“Caroline, you’re here!”
John was wearing a white coat. His figure was tall and straight, and his handsome face had a friendly smile. There was a stethoscope hanging around his neck and a pair of gold–rimmed glasses, making him look refined and elegant.
He was Jipsdale’s Benevolence Hospital’s most famous returnee doctor. He was Caroline’s good friend, Vivian Shelton’s brother. He was also a senior who was several years older than Caroline.
“John, I’m here to disturb you again!”
After Caroline went in, she greeted him.
“You’re too kind. You’re Vivian’s friend. That makes us friends too.”
John was elated to see Caroline.
“How is Vivian? When is she coming back?”
When Caroline came back, she found out that Vivian had not returned from overseas. She missed her quite a bit.
“Soon. I think it’s today’s flight. I’ll be picking her up after work. Do you want to come with me?”
“Sure! I haven’t seen Vivian in years!”

Quintin thought, “John?
“Caroline is greeting him by his first name? Why is she being so affectionate to him?”
Quintin listened to the two of them chatting happily. He felt as if he was being treated as air. The feeling of being ignored made him very unhappy
“Ahem…”
He cleared his throat and reminded them not to go overboard in front of him.
Only then did John look at Quintin in the wheelchair. He knew Quintin’s name. He said, “You must be the famous Mr. Ziegler! I’m sorry to have kept you waiting!”
After John finished speaking, he asked Caroline, “Have you completed the checkups?”
“Yes. The report and the film are here.”
Caroline handed the report to John, who began to read it.
After reading the report, he pinched Quintin’s legs to feel the extent of his recovery. Then, he shone the flashlight at his eyeball.
After checking everything. John said, “Not bad! Mr. Ziegler can be considered a medical miracle! His recovery speed is astonishing. The fractures in his bones are already healing.
“What’s even more gratifying is that the blood clots in his brain have also subsided. Only a small portion is left now.” Caroline nodded and asked. “In other words, Mr. Ziegler can recover his eyesight any time soon?”
“Yes, he has to keep taking the medicine I prescribed. According to my estimation, his eyesight should recover within the next month.”
Caroline lowered her head and said to Quintin. “Mr. Ziegler, did you hear that? The doctor said that you’re about to
recover!”
“I know!”
There was a hint of unhappiness in Quintin’s tone. He could feel that he was recovering even without the doctor’s examination
“Alright, I won’t disturb your work. We’ll go back first. Contact me when you’re going to pick up Vivian later.”
“Will do.”
John sent them to the door. As he watched Caroline push Quintin away, a faint sense of disappointment and heartache surged in his heart.
It was precisely because he understood Caroline that he knew her difficulties.
He wished that he could be by her side and shelter her from the wind and rain when she was in trouble..
However, he knew very well that he might not be qualified. Five years ago, she had Seth by her side. Five years later, she married Quintin.
He had always missed the opportunity to be with Caroline.
After the wheelchair turned, Quintin opened his mouth.
“I remember him. John Shelton. He’s known as Benevolence Hospital’s omniscient male god. Many women who come to seek him to treat their illnesses come for his looks. You are the same, right?”
Caroline sneered. “Heh, who wouldn’t want to take a look at a handsome man?”
Quintin was speechless.
He thought, “No wonder she had kindly suggested that I go for a checkup. She was using that as an excuse to see handsome
men!
“Am I not handsome enough?
“Am I not as handsome as John Shelton?”
When he returned to Catherine’s ward, Catherine had already woken up.
Quintin asked, “How is Grandma?”
Jennifer replied, “Grandma has already woken up. She’s fine.”
“You got the report too? What does it say?” Quintin asked again.
“Yes, there are no problems! She’s all good!”

When Jennifer said this, she winked at Caroline. Caroline understood and quietly pinched Quintin, indicating that he should stop asking in front of Mrs. Ziegler.
“I told you that I’m fine. There’s no need to mobilize so many people to send ine to the hospital. I want to be discharged and go home,” Catherine said.
“Grandma, don’t be anxious. You can only go back after the doctor says that you’re fine.” Jennifer held her down.
Quintin also said, “Grandma, don’t be in a hurry to be discharged. Let’s wait for the doctor’s instructions.”
“Nothing will happen to me. I don’t want to be hospitalized!”
Mrs. Ziegler insisted on getting up. Caroline said, “Mrs. Ziegler, you should listen to the doctor. As juniors, we will only feel at case if you are healthy.”
Catherine thought, “What Caroline said was true!”
Catherine didn’t heed others‘ advice, but Caroline was an exception. She would listen obediently if her granddaughter–in–law advised her to listen to the doctor. However, she had another condition.
“I can stay in the hospital, but you have to stop calling me ‘Mrs. Ziegler“.”
“Then what should I call you?”
“Just call me the way Quintin, Jennifer, and the rest do. Call me ‘Grandma!”
Quintin was a little unhappy when he heard his grandmother say that. “Grandma, how could she…”
Catherine’s temper flared up like an old child that was difficult to coax. “Don’t interrupt me. I don’t want to listen to you. I want to hear my granddaughter–in–law call me ‘Grandma‘. What’s wrong with that?”
