Vicky stared at Tyler and waited for his response.

He looked at her thoughtfully. “Do you really admit to your mistakes?’

He studied the hope in her eyes and said, “I still think that the surgery gives me more securitycompared to your promise.’

She froze, and the hope in her eyes faded. She stared at him and whispered, “Were you toying withme?”

He lifted an eyebrow but did not deny it. “That’s right.”

“Is it fun to toy with me?”

“It’s fun, but most importantly, I want you to have a taste of what it’s like to be toyed with,” Tyler saidcasually. “At least I didn’t promise you something, only to break that promise, did I?”
