Liberty smiled and said, "I didn't plan on picking you up. If you had told me earlier, I would have, but since you didn't, it's better for you to take a taxi now instead of waiting over an hour for me." It was easier for everyone this way.

"I'm heading back to the company now. Just send me a message when you're close, and I'll come meet you," she added.

Duncan smiled and said, "Okay, we'll take a taxi and I'll message you when we get there. Where were you earlier?"

"I went to Farrell Group to check on Kathryn. She's a good person," Liberty replied.

Duncan hesitated, then asked, "Are you sure she doesn't hold any resentment against you?"

"Not at all. From the way she looked at me and how she acted, I can tell she doesn't blame any of us. What happened was her mother's fault. Clarissa deserved what happened. Kathryn's values are solid." Liberty trusted her ability to read people and felt sure that Kathryn was sincere.

Duncan had also done some digging when he first met Kathryn and found out that she was fair and reasonable.

"Liberty, I'm calling a taxi now. Let's talk more when we meet. How about we have dinner tonight, just the two of us?"

Liberty agreed easily, "Sounds good."

After hanging up, Liberty couldn't help but smile.

Jim, sitting in the passenger seat, turned to tease her.

Liberty shot back, "If you're jealous, you should replace a girlfriend yourself and treat her right."

Jim replied, "I haven't found the right one. The women I meet only want to get close to the young master through me. Forget it. When I'm a bit older, I'll go back home for a blind date and marry someone from there. The girls in my hometown don't know the young master, so they won't have hidden agendas."

Jim was wary of women in Wiltspoon using him to get closer to his boss, Zachary. They pretended to love him, but they were really after Zachary, since Jim had been his personal bodyguard for years and earned his trust.

Zachary had sent Jim to Jensburg to keep an eye on Liberty, ensuring she was safe while also helping Jim avoid being used by people trying to get to Zachary.

"Zachary and Serenity have been married for years, and their baby is on the way, but some women are still chasing after Zachary," Liberty said with a sigh. "It's hard when a man is too handsome."

Luckily, not many women were after Duncan. It might have been because of the scar on his face or his rough appearance, which didn't appeal to most of the high-society women in Wiltspoon. Even Sonny had been scared of Duncan at first because of the scar.

But Duncan adored Sonny and always tried to hold him, though he wasn't very good at dealing with kids and often gave him windmills as gifts.

Jim quickly defended Zachary: "Sister Liberty, our eldest master is completely loyal. In his heart and eyes, there's only the eldest mistress. No other woman, except for family, can get close to him. He was like that before, and he still is now. He always has bodyguards with him to keep those infatuated girls away. Think about Miss Stone she chased after him for years, but even she gave up in the end."

Elisa had let go once she found out Zachary was married, deciding that as a wealthy woman, she didn't need to compete for any man.
