Married By Mistake
Chapter 27

LUNA

“Dylan, look at this, oh. It is cute.” I said smiling while holding a blue baby dress.

“Ah.” He said while not taking his eyes off his cellphone and just continuing to text.

I took a deep breath and approached him. “Who are you texting?”

I looked at his cellphone but he avoided it. He looked at me sharply. “Mind your own business.”

I bit my lower l*p. I have already put the baby gear in its place. I went to his office and forced him to accompany me to the mall. I don’t know why I’ve endured Dylan for so long. Is that how I hurt him so he treats me like this? I grabbed Dylan’s arm but it pulled my hand away.

“Are you done? I’m going back to the office.” He says coldly.

I smiled hard at him. “Ahm, I can’t choose because—”

“Okay.” He doesn’t wait for what I’m about to say. He turned his back on me and walked to the exit of the mall.

“Dylan, wait!” I chased him. I caught up with him who was already outside the exit door.

“Just take a taxi.” He took my hand and put the money there. I also looked at the taxi in front of us.

“But, aren’t we going to see the wedding coordinator?” I stabilized my voice even though I knew I was on the edge of crying.

One corner of its l*p lifted. His eyes were sarcastic. “I already cancelled the wedding, Sweetheart.”

I stumbled. “W-When?”

“After you leave me.” He says coldly.

The corner of my eye heats up. “But, Dylan—”

“Go home, Luna.” He says emphatically.

He was the one who opened the door of the taxi without me being shaken from where I was standing. He pushed me into the taxi and I was startled when he slammed the door shut.

“He wasn’t my sweet Dylan anymore,” I whispered to myself as I wiped away my tears.

I looked at the ring on my finger. I smiled bitterly because I remembered how happy we were then. And everything changed because of my wrong decision.

“If you can’t, you can give up.” I looked at the old taxi driver. I saw pity in his eyes.

I smiled at him sparingly and touched my womb. “I will not give up because we need him.”

I paid the taxi driver when I got off in front of our house. I waited for Dylan to come home until nightfall. Even though I was so drowsy I’m still forcing myself to wait.

I hold the picture of the baby in my womb. I feel relieved when I hold that, I feel like I’m not alone. I’ll show that to Dylan when his mind becomes clear.

I know, if I show it to Dylan right away, he will immediately accept it as his son but he won’t build his trust in me. All I want is for him to trust me first because that’s what he should be.

I put the photo in my pocket when the door of the house opened. I stood up when I saw Dylan. He wasn’t drunk but the tiredness could be seen in his eyes.

“Have you eaten?” I ask.

“Yes. We had a dinner meeting earlier.” He said coldly as He stared at me.

“Dylan, join me again at the mall tomorrow, huh?”

“Is it that hard to choose a child’s clothes? Tsk.” He said emphatically.

He hurt me again. “Dylan, it’s time for our fight to stop. That’s enough.”

He didn’t speak but it was enough for me that he didn’t smile because I didn’t see any change in his expression. He turned away from me and loosened the tie of his necktie. He went up the stairs and entered our room. We have been sleeping side by side for several days. I couldn’t stand it anymore so I turned to him and hugged him around the waist. I pressed my face to his back.

“Why do you get me to put up with this?” I whispered.

I felt hungry. It’s like I want to eat an apple now. Apples with ketchup. I broke up with Dylan and went down to the kitchen. We had ketchup but we didn’t have apples. I went upstairs and shook my husband’s shoulder. “Dylan, come with me to buy an apple.”

“Tsk. I’m tired and there’s no store open today, what is it?”

“Dylan, I need you.” There was resentment in my voice.

“I needed you too but you left me.”

“Dylan, please.”

I got no reaction from him. I stood up on the bed and took off my jacket. I wore that before I got in my car. I went to a twenty-four-hour convenience store and bought an apple. I also found strawberry ice cream so I bought that too.

I sat on a bench facing the window. Seems like I want to relax there first. I did nothing but eat the apple and dip it in strawberry flavoured ice cream while looking at the emptiness.

I didn’t even notice that it was early in the morning. And I’m running out of ice cream. Is Dylan looking for me?

By the way, my doctor told me not to stay awake or be stressed. I exited the convenience store carrying two containers of ice cream and got into my car. When I got home I caught Dylan wandering around our living room.

“Where did you go ?!” Dylan yelled at me when he saw me enter.

“At the convenience store. I bought ice cream.” I said and lifted the plastic I was carrying.

He washed his hand over his face. I smiled when I noticed the concern on his face. “You do care about me.”

“F**k. What are you saying?”

I poked his side. “Are we god now? Are we going to continue the wedding?”

He grabbed my hand and pulled it away from his side. I lost my smile when I saw his face was serious and cold. “Dylan, let’s shake hands. Please. What do you want me to do to make things right?”

“There’s nothing you can do, Luna. The damage has been done.” When he said that he turned his back on me again.

I held his hand. “Let’s finish this, Dylan. Please.”

He turned to me. “sure, let’s finish this. I got my inheritance the other day. We can file an annulment.”
