Married By Mistake
Chapter 36

LUNA

“Congratulations, Miss Luna. Job well done. Your designs are one of the best.” Mrs Palma said with a smile as she held my hand.

I mimicked her sweet smile before speaking. “Thank you, Mrs Palma. It’s so nice to hear compliments from you.”

She rolled her big blue eyes and laughed. “Oh, darling. Don’t flatter me too much. And you looked good too. Pregnancy has a very good effect on you. I like that.”

I just smiled back at her. I knew my stomach was big so I wore clothes that weren’t too tight, so that I wouldn’t look like an owl and so that my baby wouldn’t be pinched.

I lost my attention to Mrs Palma and came to a tall model that appeared at my side. She looks very elegant in a royal blue halter dress. “Thank you, Miss Luna, for giving me a chance to ramp your one of a kind designs.”

“I’m the one who should thank you, Miss Bennett. Because you accepted my invitation.”

“It’s because you’re a great friend.” She said. I was about to speak when she suddenly put his hand over his mouth. My forehead furrowed. “Oh, my. Who’s that guy?”

“Who?” I followed the place she was looking.

My eyes found Dylan standing a few meters away from me. Some men talk to him and he answers without taking his eyes off me.

“That one. He’s seriously looking at me. I think he’s interested in me. What do you think, Miss?”

When our eyes met a corner of his l*p rose and I stared at him in retaliation.

“I don’t think so,” I said. Pissed off.

“Huh?”

“He’s my husband, Miss Bennett,” I said in such a way that she would know my territory.

Her lips form an ‘o’ and smiled smoothly. “Oops. Sorry. My bad.”

Ever since I found out that Dylan was just around here I couldn’t move properly. I feel like someone is always watching my movements.

I first apologized to the person I was talking to for going to the restroom. I don’t feel better anymore. I felt strange dizziness before I even opened the bathroom door.

And if it weren’t for that arm wrapped around my waist, my l*p would probably have stuck to the floor.

“Let’s get you home, Baby.” I looked up to greet the owner of that beautiful voice.

“D.” Oh, shit! Wrong choice of word!

“You’re tired. I’ll take you home.” He said gently and then squeezed me into his wide chest.

I slowly pushed him away and frowned. Oh, no. Hormones.

“No. It’s not over yet—”

He grabbed my hand and curled our palms before bringing it to his lips. “Luna, your vigil will be with the child. Please.”

“I can still do this,” I say emphatically.

“Please, Baby.” No! Don’t control me!

I violently withdrew my hand and sighed at what I had done. “I said, no! Don’t you understand me! You’ve been there before! Do you think, I don’t notice that you’re slowly controlling me. Shit! Go to hell! Disappear! Now! Please!”

He bent down and suddenly his eyes widened. The colour also escaped his face. “L-Luna .. y-you’re ..”

“What ?!”

“Y-You’re bleeding!”

My hair stood on end at what it said. My eyes dropped to my thigh and saw a little b***d flowing there.

I g*****d when I felt the excruciating pain in my stomach.

I immediately closed my thigh and put my hand between it. “H-Hah .. N-No .. N-No .. Dylan!”

He picked me up and I felt the trembling of his hand on my back. He ran and passed a large crowd that almost shocked the witness as well.

“Get the hell out of my way!” He shouted.

“Dylan .. save our baby ..” Please. Please.

My tears never stopped flowing.

He looked at me. Scared. Tortured. “I will. Just… Just don’t let go, okay? Please, Baby. Stay with me.”

I nodded and closed my eyes when I felt the drawing pain in my womb. I no longer knew what was going on, I did not know how many minutes I had been crying, the only thing on my mind right now was to ask for help and pray to the Lord that He would save my son.

“Sir, you’re only up to here.” The nurse said as we were about to get to the emergency room.

I felt panic as Dylan’s grip on my hand tightened. I clung to him.

“No. D-Don’t let me go of my hand, Dylan. I’m scared. Please.” I sobbed.

Our eyes met both blurred with tears.

“I won’t let go, Baby.” He said while kissing my hand. I cried out as the pain in my womb drew again. Dylan stopped causing us to break up. I no longer have the strength to speak because of weakness. “Please, save my family! I’m begging you to save them! Do everything!”

That was the last I heard before I fainted.

I was shocked to hear a voice from somewhere. I did not open my eyes and listened even more to the conversation of familiar voices.

“It’s all because of you! You do no good to my daughter!” Papa?

“Papa, enough. It’s not Dylan’s fault that—” What’s happening, Camille?

I chose to open my eyes. No one noticed so I rolled my eyes all around. I saw Dylan on a black sofa with his head in his hand while Dad stared at it angrily.

“Dylan ..” They all looked at me when I spoke. In less than a second Dylan was at my side. He immediately grabbed my hand and brought it to his lips.

“Luna. Oh, thanks to God, you woke up.” Abundant tears dripped from his eyes. I also noticed the vibration in his voice.

I faintly caressed his face. I rubbed my thumb under her eyes to wipe away the tears. “Y-You’re crying. And there are dark circles under your eyes. Aren’t you sleeping?”

“I’m so worried. I can’t sleep until you wake up. Are you okay? Aren’t you feeling anything?”

Camille came out and brought Dad along to give us time to talk to Dylan.

I closed my eyes and remembered everything that happened last night. Although I was afraid to ask, I dared to speak.

“The baby ..” Is he going to blame me? Will he get angry? Will, she hurt me because I have been a careless mother to our child? Will he yell at me because I didn’t listen to him?

All my worries were gone .. when he smiled at me. A sad but gentle smile.

“We save her, wife.”

“We did?”

He nodded. “Yes.”

Thanks, God. Thank you. Thank you.

My other hand caressed my stomach and thanked me again when I felt the small bulge. “I’m sorry. I put our son in danger.”

“Don’t scare me like that.” He said weakly.

“I yelled at you. That’s why …”

“What do you want me to do, Luna? Tell me, please. Do you want me to disappear? You don’t want to see my face anymore? Do you want me out of your life? If this is the way it would be better for you and our son, I will. ” He’s blaming himself. No. Oh, Dylan… You’ve changed.

“Dylan ..”

He let out a strained smile and pinched my hand. “You’re right. Maybe it would be better for me to just disappear from your life. You make me happy but I can’t make you happy. I’m not the one who can make you complete. All I did was hurt you. I made you feel worthless. I made your life a nightmare. We started wrong, ended in another mistake, Luna, I don’t know what I’m going to do just to protect you. “

I swallowed several times so that the tears I was holding back would not come out. I let him speak. I knew this was the only way he could alleviate the hardship he was carrying.

“And I’m still blaming myself for what happened to you last night. If I didn’t go there, you wouldn’t be damned? I was there, I’m the one who stressed you, right? Tell me, wife. Hurt me. Give your pain to me. Blame me for everything. “

“Dylan, lift your head and look at me.” He looked at me. My hands covered his face and wiped away his tears.

“I almost lost you.”

“Almost,” I said.

“I’m so damn scared.”

“Me too.”

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” He said between his sobs. He touched my hand that was in my face.

“Is it painful, Dylan?” I want to know what you feel right now.

“It’s unbearable, Baby.” Oh, D. I’m sorry, too.

“Stop crying. I’m okay now. You saved us.” I gently said.

His hand caressed my womb and smiled sadly. “Yeah… I did.”

“Thank you.”

He looked at me. Love. Hope. Longing. “Come back to me, Baby.”

“I will. But not now. Not yet, D.” I finally said.

“Why? I’ve changed. I won’t hurt you again. I’ll take care of you. I’ll be a good husband to you. Please, Luna, come back to me.”

“Let’s put up with not being together, Dylan. I need time for myself. Let me go first. When I’m ready for you to come back, I’ll come to you myself and then we’ll start again.”

“Until when?” He asked.

“How long can you wait for me?”

“Oh, Baby, I can wait for you forever.” He smiled sadly. “I won’t let you go.”

Then don’t.

Just a little longer, D.
