Chapter 712 Don’t Disturb Uncle Shaw and Aunt Sarah
Damien frowned. “I hope you won’t pose such questions in the future.” He smiled. “I’m very thankful that Rowena
saved my life.”
“But without you….” He extended his arm and pulled Cherise into a tight embrace. “Without you, my life. would be
devoid of meaning.”
“In other words, Rowena saved my physical form, but you rescued my spirit.”
“So….” He kissed Cherise’s forehead tenderly. “Who do you think I would choose?”
Cherise pursed her lips, but Frances knocked before she could continue her playful banter with Damien. “Mr. and
Mrs. Lenoir, dinner is ready.”
Cherise slowly extricated herself from Damien’s arms as if roused from a dream. They descended the staircase
hand in hand.
Elvis and Sarah were seated at the dining table downstairs with Soren and Serafina. Upon seeing Cherise and
Damien walking down the stairs hand in hand, Elvis and Sarah exchanged knowing glances and smiled fondly.
Soren crossed his arms, his small face clouded with slight discontent. On the other hand, Serafina clapped excitedly.
“Congratulations on holding my beautiful mommy’s hand, Mr. Handsome!”
“Thank you, Serafina. The man smiled and led Cherise into the dining room before gallantly pulling out a chair for
her. After ensuring she was comfortably seated, the man elegantly took his seat across from her, and they started
eating.
“By the way.” Sarah frowned and looked up at Cherise. “Cherry, what happened to those two girls? Weren’t they
supposed to join us for dinner?”
Cherise hesitated slightly and subconsciously turned to look at Frances.
Frances cleared her throat. “Madam, it’s because one of the young ladies was experiencing stomach. discomfort
today. She left in a rush after changing into a servant’s attire.”
Cherise noticed an unmistakable smirk on Soren’s face as Frances spoke. She frowned slightly and said, “Soren,
take some food for your sister!”
Caught off guard, Soren looked up and was met with Cherise’s stern gaze. Soren immediately lowered his head
timidly and didn’t say another word.
“Those two girls are really…” Oblivious to the silent exchange between mother and son, Sarah continued lamenting
as she ate. “They were so ill but still came here and left in servant’s attire in the end… Isn’t that quite
embarrassing?”
“It is.” Cherise nodded in agreement. “But they should have learned their lesson and won’t do this again.”
Although Sarah felt sorry for the Mortis sisters, they were mere strangers to her. She quickly redirected the
conversation back to Soren and Serafina.
Following a lively dinner, Cherise and Damien accompanied Elvis and Sarah to the car. Cherise had
requested Mr. Kolson to drive her aunt and uncle home. “Aunt Sarah. I’ll be in Adania for a while. If you miss me
and the kids, feel free to visit!” Cherise said with a smile as she stood at the door.
“Okay!” Sarah waved enthusiastically, tears welling in her eyes. “I’m glad to hear that. It’s good to have you
back!”
“Get along with Damien so he won’t come to our house to mope every now and then!”
Cherise was dumbstruck. “Alright, I will.”
Poor Aunt Sarah. It appeared Damien had frequently visited the Shaw’s village over the past five years and
unintentionally stressed Sarah out.
With this in mind, she glanced at Damien. “Did you hear that? You’re not allowed to disturb Uncle Shaw and Aunt
Sarah anymore!”
