Chapter 1432

Chapter 1432Astrong sourness rushed into her eyes, and tears almost instantly flowed out.

Seeing that she was about to be carried out of the banquet hall, Sherry opened her mouth. She wanted to scold him. She wantedto shout that she had given birth to Caprice. She wanted to let all the guests inside know that John, Madam Stockton, and Julieknew her.

However, something seemed to be stuck in her throat, making her unable to say a word.

Madam Stockton and Julie pretended not to know her because they disdained her and did not want other people to know thatshe was Caprice’s mother.

What about him? Did he also disdain her and not want others to know?In that case, he should have just let her go. Why did he ask her so much nonsense and even send her to the police station? Was it because he not only disdained her but hated her so much that he wanted her to go to jail?

Sherry could not help but think of that time when she had fainted in the snow. When she returned to the hotel, he told her, “I feelsick just looking at you.”

She just did not want to be with him. She left for two years because she did not want to be under house arrest again. She onlycame back now to see her child! What did she do to make him so disgusted?!

Tears instantly streamed down her face.Sherry quickly pursed her lips and held back a choked sob.

However, she gave up and stopped struggling, ready to let the security guards drag her away when a familiar voice suddenlycame from the side of the corridor.

“Sherry? What are you doing here?”

Sherry lifted her face in shock to see Jake, Janine, and Matthew. They should be attending an event in another banquet hall andhappened to pass by.

Janine and Matthew were stunned to see her.

At the exit of the banquet hall behind Sherry, Madam Stockton and Julie, as well as the friends and family of the Stockton familyhad not dispersed. They all looked over when they heard Jake’s voice.

The Stockton and Fowler families had been connected by marriage before, so many people knew who Jake and Matthew were.Someone immediately asked, “President Williams, do you know this woman? Who is she?”Jake swept a cold and contemptuous gaze at Sherry, then

looked at Janine and Matthew. Janine was looking elsewhere as if she did not know Sherry. Matthew looked at Sherry and thetwo security guards who were holding her. His expression was not pleasant either.

Soon, Jake said to the person who spoke to him, “Her? She’s the daughter my sister brought back from the countryside. Hername is Sherry Fowler, but she never goes home. | haven't seen her in years.”

The crowd was quiet for a moment, and then a flurry of whispers sounded.

“So, she’s from the Fowlers.”

“Tsk... How did the Fowlers educate their daughters? One of them is a murderer and went to jail while this one is a thief. They'reall rotten eggs.

))

The voices of discussion and mockery increased.

Janine and Matthew's expressions turned red.

Jake had long been displeased with Sherry, so when he heard that she was a thief, he immediately put on a shocked expressionand asked, “What did my niece do? Why is she being held by two security guards?”

The person he asked was a relative of the Stockton family and said, “She stole Young Master Sager’s invitation and snuck in.Not only did she not admit it but she even insulted Master Stockton.”

“What? How dare she steal an invitation?!” Janine

shrieked in surprise. Then, she pointed at Sherry and scolded angrily, “Sherry Fowler, it’s bad enough that you don’t respect yourelders, but why can’t you change the bad habits you brought from the countryside? You even stole something from theStocktons? You might not feel shame, but your father and | do!”

Janine and Matthew were both so angry that they looked away. It was as if they did not even want to acknowledge

her.
