Chapter 1451

Chapter 1451Carl leaned closer toward Sherry and asked with a giant smile, “Sherry, is there any kind of grudge between the two of you?”“Not yet so far.”

Carl looked at Julie angrily stomping away, then he asked in an inexplicable tone, “Then why were you so harsh toward her? Itlooked like the veins on her face were going to pop.”

Sherry took a sip of wine and stated boldly, “I just gave her the taste of her own medicine. | wasn’t expecting such a reactionfrom her either.”

At least she was not as aggressive toward Julie as Madam

Stockton was during the last house party. Still, it looked like this approach of pretending to not know Julie at all had a strongereffect than she initially expected.

Carl merely smiled at her answer, then he suddenly caught something from the corner of his eyes. Again, he leaned into Sherryand asked, “Sherry, there’s been a few people who have been staring at you since you came in here. Do you know them by anychance?”

Sherry asked curiously, “Where?”

Carl informed, “At your three o'clock.”

Sherry glanced in that direction.

Her eyes quickly met the combination of Janine,Matthew, and Jake sulking by the corner.

They knew she saw them as well.

A faint mark of disdain surfaced on Sherry’s face. She quickly turned away and took another sip of wine while stating, “I don’tknow them.”

Carl seemed intrigued by this. That was when several people approached the duo.Sherry rose suddenly. “Carl, deal with them for me, | need to make a run to the toilet.”

She recognized these men as the ones who accused her of being a thief at the house party last time. She was not in the moodnor did she have the patience to put on a polite appearance for their entertainment.

“Alright, go ahead.” Carl gently tapped her head as he said, “Don’t wander too far, and make sure you don’t take too long.”Sherry gave him a look, then she headed toward another remote section of the venue.

After she walked around the venue for a while, she finally found a quiet corner where there was food and more wine. There was practically a fountain of wine and the food seemed mouth-watering as well.

She drank two glasses of wine in one go, then she began picking up pieces of cake and stuffing them into her mouth.“Heh.” She suddenly heard a chuckle coming from somewhere behind her.

This made her jump a little and spit out a piece of cake she had barely bitten into yet.

She turned around.

It was John, standing only several steps away from her. He held a wine glass in one hand and his other arms held across hischest.

He was leaning against a wall, postured confidently as if he owned the place.

His eyes were marked with a mocking gleam underneath them.

Sherry’s demeanor immediately transformed as she flashed a practiced smile in his direction. “I thought it was some kind ofpervert but it turns out it’s just the great Master Stockton.”

John smirked at this remark and proceeded to dart his eyes all over her body without any attempt at concealing it, from the tip ofher hair to her heels.

He smiled and said, “Look at you. It’s like you transformed into another person the moment you put on these clothes. You've gotsome tongue on you too.”

“Heh. You flatter me.” Sherry scoffed sarcastically. “Is there anything you want from me?”

“| was hungry so | came here to replace something to eat.” He looked at Sherry like a hunter who had locked on to his prey as heapproached her.

Sherry frowned and took a step away from him.

John continued pressing on and did not stop even after he was next to the table with trays of food set across it. It did not seemlike that was ever his goal to begin with.

Sherry knew that she would be pinned against the wall if she continued backing away. Then, a fierce look came upon her eyesas she suddenly marched toward her side. She wanted to get away from him while she still had the chance to.

Just when it seemed like she would succeed in her getaway, she felt something grabbing onto her waist.

She was seized in an instant and pulled into John’s arm. She was so close to him that she could feel his heart beating againsthis chest.

She glowered and snapped at him. “Let go of me, you b* stard!”

John responded with a quiet smile and continued dragging her toward the corner where he swiftly spun her around and pinnedher against the wall.
