Chapter 1515

Chapter 1515

Sherry turned to John. “Hey, hand me the mirror in my bag.”

Instead of retrieving her bag for her, John extracted a neatly folded gray handkerchief from his pocket. “Come closer,” he said.It looked like he wanted to wipe her mouth for her.

Sherry hesitated but still ended up leaning toward him.

Moments before the handkerchief grazed against her lips, John quickly withdrew it and brought his lips toward hers instead.Immediately after that, Sherry felt a warm sensation around her lips.

He kissed her.

Sherry was bewildered by this.

John sat back and tucked the handkerchief back into his pocket, then he folded his arms across her chest, and leaned againstthe back of the seat. It looked like he was very satisfied with the maneuver he had just pulled.

It took a long time for Sherry to recompose herself. She turned to John with her cheeks still flushing red.” You b*stard, | thoughtyou were going to wipe my mouth for me, why did you kiss me?”

John glanced at her disinterestedly and quipped, “The way you pointed your lips at me just now made it seem like you wantedme to kiss you, didn’t you?”

What was this man talking about?!She only stuck her lips out so he would wipe them for her!

It was clear as day that the scumbag was only trying to take advantage of her! She was sure that there was not a single spot ofgrease on her lips to begin with. It was all a trick!

She glared at him angrily.

She would have unleashed her wrath right here and now if not for Caprice sleeping soundly next to them! After that, the drivertook them back to the house. The car stopped in front of the courtyard.

Sherry got out of the car with Caprice in her arms. She trotted inside without sparing a glance at John.

As soon as she stepped into the living room, she met Madam Stockton, Julie, and Queenie seated together on the couch andmerrily chatting away about something.

The moment Madam Stockton noticed Sherry returning with Caprice still in her arms, she got up and approached Sherry.Julie and Queenie followed after.

Madam Stockton looked at the sleeping Caprice and asked with her voice filled with displeasure, “What time is it? Why is sheasleep already? Where did you take her to?”

Sherry wanted to tell her off. She was Caprice’s mother, so what was wrong with her taking Caprice outside to play?“We took her to the playground then we went to get dinner. Do you have any problem with that?”Someone had spoken the exact things Sherry had in mind. It was John who uttered those words.

Madam Stockton seemed intimidated by John, evident by how she quickly altered her tone. “No, | don’t have any problem withthat. | was just wondering why Caprice fell asleep so much earlier than usual and got worried.”

Julie chimed in. “Yeah, we're just worried about little Caprice, she’s usually up and running around at thishour.”

John walked up to Sherry and casually hooked his arm around Sherry’s shoulder. He said with a sharp look in his eyes, “We'regoing to catch some rest. You girls should settle in for the night too if you don’t have anything else to add.”

Julie grimaced.

Madam Stockton frowned and was visibly upset. She had not even had a chance to hug her precious granddaughter!Queenie spoke up, “Brother, it’s Saturday tomorrow, are you going to be at home or are you taking Caprice

somewhere?”

John answered, “I'll decide tomorrow.”

Queenie nodded.

Now, it was Julie who decided to call it for the day. “Mom, Queenie, let’s go. We shouldn’t disturb John and Sherry, they needsome rest.”

‘Just who does Sherry think she is to act all high and mighty in my house?!’ Madam Stockton wanted to scream right then andthere, but it was only manifested in the form of an aggressive look at Sherry before she stomped off.

Julie hurriedly followed her.

Queenie took the time to excuse herself. “Goodnight, Sherry.”

Sherry smiled and said, “I'll let you know if we take Caprice out tomorrow.”

“Gotcha,” Queenie said with a smile.

After Queenie left, a dark look came upon Sherry.

She knew that Madam Stockton was still not fond of her. As far as Madam Stockton was concerned,Sherry was an eyesore.

Still, it did not matter as she did not plan to stick around for too much longer.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she considered this, then she retreated to her room with Caprice.Suddenly, John called after her out of nowhere and said in a gentle, comforting voice, “Don’t worry aboutwhat

my mother tells you. If she picks on you when I’m not around, don’t just silently take it. Grab a phone and call me.”
