Chapter 1748

Chapter 1748One of Anne’s bodyguards came charging in and promptly helped Anne up from the ground.Ron was going to continue charging Anne but wisely took a step back when he saw the bodyguard stepping up to defend her.

Anne pressed a hand over her stomach and groaned in pain. Her voice was a hoarse rattle as she said, “Ron...you kicked me...you dare kick me for a woman like her...”

Ron spoke with utter detest, “Don’t you dare insult her! She’s nothing like a foul woman like you! | would have dumped you amillion years ago if not for your wealth and status!”

Such a hateful declaration came as a shock to Anne.

Ron would have given anything to punch her right in the face, but the rational part of his mind prevented him from acting onimpulse. After all, she was the esteemed madam of the Sagers and held a majority of the shares of the corporation.

He swallowed his rage and put on a benevolent act to save face. “Here’s what | propose: | will be willing to forgive you if you letgo of Timothy and Diana, then take your men and scram! I’ll pretend none of this ever happened. If not, I’ll teach you to not messwith me!”

Sherry was baffled. She had seen countless shameless men in her time but never had she seen such arrogance andshamelessness..

Even though Anne was getting on in her years, she had taken care of her health and appearance over the years, unlike Ron wholooked several decades older than her. No matter how you put it, Anne was far more commendable in every way possible. It wasembarrassing that Ron would ever

think he was better than her.

She thought that Anne would not stomach this and would rush up to slap Ron again, but instead,Anne fell silent.

Lisa sighed.

Sherry asked nervously “Aunt Lisa, Anne isn’t going to let him off, is she?”

“Based on her track record, she just might.”

Sherry frowned. She had heard stories of Anne’s past. In her younger days, she was an angelic beauty and a famous socialitewho came from a significant background. One day, she fell madly in love with Ron, who in his youth, was a handsome man aswell and was well respected among his peers. In tim, Anne had begged her mother for permission to marry Ron.

Anne’s conservative nature in combination with her fervent love for Ron led her to make many questionable decisions over theyears. Despite catching Ron cheating on her a handful of times, she chose to forgive him every time.

After all these years, the situation escalated beyond mere cheating. Ron was sheltering another woman who had given birth to apair of twins for him. To make matters worse, he was despicable enough to hit her to defend his mistress, so why would Anneever forgive him?

The rain had stopped by this point, but the sky was still a depressing gray.

Sherry was growing anxious by the minute.

Meanwhile, right outside the villa, Anne was helped up by her bodyguards, tears streaming

endlessly down her face. Her eye sockets had become two empty shells, and she was completely out of herself.

Ron was growing impatient by this point and began shouting, “Anne, I’m telling you to let my children go. Are you deaf? Let themgo right now, or else!”

“Heh...” Anne laughed hysterically. She suddenly snapped, turned to her bodyguards, and ordered sharply, “Take them away!”

The bodyguards immediately took the children to the car.

“No! My children!” The mistress wrung herself free from Ron and tried to run to her children. She ended up tripping over her feetand stumbled to the ground, then began bawling her eyes out. She stretched her arms out toward the car and pleadeddesperately.

Her children were crying as well. It was a tragic scene to behold, a mother being separated fromher children.

Ron was heartbroken to see his mistress in such a broken state. As he looked at his children whose voices had grown parchedfrom crying and shouting, he felt nothing but pure hatred.

“Anne, you bitch!” He roared and charged toward Anne. He looked vicious and blinded by rag as though he was going to murderAnne with his own hands.

Anne’s eyes widened with fear. The bodyguards reacted in an instant and stepped in front of her to defend her.

Ron was no match for them at all and was flung out of the way effortlessly. He staggered back several steps before regaining hisfooting.

The mistress who was on all fours on the ground cried out in a distressed voice, “Ron!”
