Mate ...s ?!?!
Chapter Sixteen

[Jaxson’s POV]

Later that night

Jace and I were so happy that Orion was at least giving us a chance to prove to him we were worth his love and effort. He was giving us more and more of him with each passing second, but I had a feeling that it was more of Rain slipping out pieces of memories to us without letting Orion really know what was going on. Rain was giving up pieces of them in the bits of memories he could share with us. It wasn’t always the best of memories but when we got them, they were short flashes. It made us angry to see what they had been put through but it also helped us to better understand how to help them grow into a better Wolf.

Jace and I were, at this moment letting, Orion/Rain sleep while sitting in the kitchen with our parents and Cassie when suddenly we were looking at a dirty basement. Chains hung on the walls and it smelled faintly of dried blood and vomit. It was making Jace nauseous and me dizzy from the lack of fresh air that was getting to our lungs. This was not a place either of us knew so we automatically knew it was Rain and Orion. This was where he had been the night Jace had come to blow off steam to Kinder about how he didn’t want to really have an Omega Mate.

I could hear my twins voice in the distance shouting how Omegas were only distractions to the bigger cause and how if we had one, they would only get in the way of our purpose. I was pissed but then it ended and the memory shifted to the outside of the house to where Orion could still hear Jace, and his soft-spoken words of regret for his words and anger. Jace had never wanted to say all of that. He had been heartbroken and distraught. Kinder had started all of that but it had gotten out of control.

Orion never really blamed Jace for his words but he was hurt by them and what they could mean for his own future. His family had already hated him because he was so weak in their eyes, when Jace had ranted about weak Omegas Orion had taken it personally and felt like it had been aimed at him. When Jace had left Kinder had come into the basement to punch and kick Orion until he bled for days on end. He had been disoriented for two days and unable to go to school. Therefore, he had been unable to eat and Rain had been unable to heal them properly. His body had never been able to heal right. He had never been given the opportunity. Not once in his life.

When my vision cleared of Orion’s memories I stood in a flash and was out the door in the same second. I was bringing the Pack Doctor to the house this second and there wasn’t anything anyone was doing about it.

I reached the Infirmary door and just walked right in, only to see the Pack Doctor, one of my cousins making out with his Mate on a hospital bed.

I cleared my throat and they jumped apart quickly fixing themselves trying to look professional. “Very smooth Hayle.” I said as I strode in a serious look on my face.

“Sorry about that Alpha Jaxson, I didn’t think anyone would need my help today.” Hayle replied baring his neck to me the closer I got to him. I was not officially the Alpha but I had enough Alpha Aura to make anyone bow to me.

“You should always assume someone is coming. Regardless, you and your Mate are needed for your future Lunos. I want him to be fully checked out and healed. He is your number one priority until he has been fully healed.” I said trying very hard not to growl. I needed to remain stoic when speaking to others. Regardless of the situation and how I felt.

Hayle looked at me a little shocked. Not many had been informed Jace and I had found our Mate and it was going to stay that way until Orion was ready. “You will keep your mouths shut or I will take your surgical tools and stitch them shut. He is not ready yet and no one will know until he is.” I warned an evil glint coming into my eyes.

They both bowed to me, “Yes Alpha Jaxson.” they said in unison, before quickly gathering up anything they might need to treat my little star.
