Tasya sat alone in her room, lost in thought. This happened after she persuaded Nathan to go home. You see, Nathan insisted on staying at her place, ignoring the many questions that could arise from his presence in Tasya's home. "I'm really fine, Nathan, I promise." Tasya tried to convince Nathan, who wouldn't budge an inch. His jet-black eyes stared at Tasya disapprovingly.

"What if your mom gets angry again? You'll be alone, Tasya. Robin is still at the clinic, right?"

Tasya still didn't want to let go of her smile. It wasn't a sweet smile this time, but one filled with pain and sadness. Nathan didn't like seeing Tasya like this at all. He repeatedly pushed himself to be accepted by Tasya tonight. Tasya knew Nathan meant well, but the guy had a lot on his plate, right? She didn't want this issue to distract Nathan from his work.

"I can take care of myself, Nathan."

"I don't believe you," Nathan grumbled with an annoyed expression.

"If you stay here, I'll feel even more trapped." Tasya laughed softly. "Don't make me feel more uncomfortable, okay?"

Nathan's exasperated sigh was heard again. "In this condition, I feel like we should get married soon."

"Do you think I approve of having you in my life?"

"Tasya!" Nathan's eyes widened. He looked at Tasya with an incredulous gaze. "You keep breaking my heart."

For this remark, Tasya burst into laughter. She even wiped away the remaining tears at the corner of her eyes. "Just go home, okay?"

Nathan couldn't say anything more or argue. All he could do now was nod obediently. "But can I have a hug?"

Tasya still had a hint of laughter on her lips. She agreed to Nathan's request this time. "Sure."

"I even need permission for a hug." Nathan took a step closer to the slender, pony tailed figure that was looking at him with teary eyes. Her hair was a bit messy because Nathan had seen how Tasya had tried to calm her mother down. Even though Nathan had come to help, it seemed like the middle-aged woman only needed Tasya.

Before he truly embraced the girl who had occupied his heart for a long time, he tidied up the ends of her hair. He stared deeply into her eyes, which were truly beautiful to Nathan. Her gaze was always sincere. Her smile was never forced. Her actions sometimes gave Nathan a headache, but they never disappointed him.

Just like the first time Nathan met her.

"Is it really okay?" Nathan wanted to make sure.

"Usually, it's not just hugs, is it, with the women near you? More like a pounce, Nathan."

Once again, Nathan bursts out laughing. "Why are you so annoying?"

"Just trying to state the obvious, aren't I?"

Nathan doesn't care if he later replaces Tasya struggling. He's also sure that Tasya will get angry with him. But when he thinks about it, he already got permission. Tasya shouldn't refuse, ask Nathan to back off, or push the guy to keep his distance. Well... he was right, wasn't he?

Nathan isn't rejected. Can there be a scene of jumping for joy here? Not that he minds. Tasya is one of those rare people, seriously, Nathan makes sure they rarely have physical contact. Even though the label "assistant" is strongly attached to Tasya, where they're rarely apart, Nathan values the girl in his arms.

Let the world judge him as a depraved, obnoxious guy who only wants the best in life but has tried many women out there; Nathan doesn't care. He cares enough about Tasya. As long as there's no judgment in her eyes, her mouth still gives him a chance to change, and every action Tasya takes doesn't make him feel worse, it doesn't matter to Nathan.

"If I pick you up tomorrow, don't get mad," Nathan says while gently rubbing Tasya's back.

"Okay." Tasya tightens her hug. She knows Nathan's perfume scent very well. Most of the time, she's the one who buys it, anyway. She says it's the one that suits her the best. Even Nathan's clothing taste. When, oh when, is there no involvement of Tasya in Nathan's life? It feels like there isn't. "That's enough hugging." She releases her embrace slightly and then looks up, where she knows their eyes meet again. "It's late. You should go home. Naina must be looking for you." Nathan, although reluctant, what can he do? Besides nodding and complying. He also gives Tasya many messages that if something bad happens, he has to be the first to know. Nothing can be hidden or covered up by Tasya. In response to Nathan's chatter, Tasya replies with nods and a faint smile.

Until the black car slowly glided away from Tasya's house, Tasya let out a sigh of relief. She looked at the house that no longer appeared the same as before. Many sweet memories had happened there, but she couldn't deny that many bad things had also come and gone.

"Sista," Ronan's call made Tasya flinch a little. All her reverie was shattered.

"Yes?"

"Robin is already asleep. The doctor said there's no serious problem in his head. Just some wounds." Seeing his sister sitting on the edge of his bed gave Hari the courage to speak up. He couldn't help but stare at his sister, who looked thinner than usual. There must be a lot on her mind. Ronan really wanted to help her, even just a little, to lighten her burden. He wanted to see his sister's sweet smile again. Unfortunately, his sister was good at pretending. Proof of this was the fake smile on her beautiful face again.

"Have you redeemed his medicine? Did you make sure his wound is properly treated?" Tasya asked as she patted the empty side of the bed. "Sit here, Ronan." Her two younger siblings, though they looked aloof, couldn't be separated.

"I did." Ronan complied with what his sister wanted. Tasya felt so relieved to hear that.

"But... Mama, Sis."

Tasya fell silent, as if she knew what Ronan wanted to say.

"We can't keep Mama here for too long."
