This man has so many bodyguards and many drivers yet he chose to drive himself today. Weird! Debby thought quietly. Even after three minutes of driving, there was a scary silence inside the car. Debby wondered why he wasn't saying a word.

"So Arthur is your fiancee?" He finally spoke. His face concentrating on the road before him. Debby looked at his handsome side profile and corrected, "ex fiancee! We broke up five years ago."

He hummed and continued driving then he parked before a large mansion.

He got down and she got down too. She had no idea what he had brought her here to do.

"This is my family's mansion where my grandfather stay. You must pretend like we are truly getting married to eachother," he said.

Debby was shocked, "sorry but you can just take Edna to him since you and Edna are truly getting married soon." Of course, Harry and Edna were both in a relationship so it's expected that they would marry soon, so Debby thought.

Harry had brought Edna to his grandfather but for some inexplicable reason, his grandfather dislike her. He claimed that she's a vain woman and not in any way good for his grandson. When asked how he was able to judge Edna that way, he simply said he made some underground research about her past to which he didn't disclose to Harry.

Harry didn't have anyone else to bring to his grandfather as someone he wants to marry, yet, his stubborn grandfather had stopped taking drug. He had said he will only resume taking drug after he brings someone better home that he will marry. The old man just wanted to see his grandson heal from the past before he dies. But can Harry heal from the pain?

The rememberance of how his late girlfriend who had eight months old pregnancy in her slumped and die still hurt him to the gut. It's an unhealable scar in his heart.

"You are the one who will suffer for all that your father did to my family, don't forget. You must do everything I want otherwise, I'll lock you up and let you starve until you die," he said seriously.

Debby knew she was in this man's trap. How can she even end up in the den of the most powerful man in the city?

Debby almost cried. She swallowed and said," okay."

"Good! Now follow me," he said and they both walked inside the magnificent mansion.

A few minutes after they sat, Lord Vernon, Harry's grandfather appeared. Seeing Debby, he smiled. He sat and welcomed them politely then he quickly ordered for the butler to make an expensive food. "My daughter, will you really like to marry my son?" The old man asked.

Marry? Debby thought. With a fake smile on her face, she answered, "yes, sir."

"Oh! Don't use 'sir' for me. We are now family. Call me 'dad,' Okay?" The old man asked and Debby nod.

Why can't this man reject her like he rejected Edna? Debby prayed that she will be able to get out of this entanglement.

Harry had planned on telling his father that this woman was Broderick Alessandro's daughter but seeing how his father liked her already, he kept it to himself. At least, his father will now start using his drugs and stop bothering him about the issue of marriage. The old man soon led the two of them to sit at the dinning table. Barry had not seen his grandfather appear so lively in a long time. Is anything special about this woman? Harry thought and glanced at Debby. Debby looked ordinary to him yet his grandfather considers to her to be adorable.

"My daughter, I hope you like this food...hahaha..." The old man said to Debby.

"Ha.... Of course, it's one of my favorites," Debby said and the old man chuckled.

"Eat, my daughter, you look so lean..." The man watched with satisfaction as Debby ate then he started eating too. Harry also joined in eating.

After they were done eating, the butler came to empty the table.

Lord Douglas said to Harry, "this woman you brought is just the perfect woman for you."

"Of course, she's so amazing," Harry pretended to like Debby then he added, "so you will start using your drug now, right?"

"Until I see the marriage certificate," Lord Douglas said casually and picked up the handkerchief then wiped his mouth.

Both Harry and Debby's heart sunk. Huh? Marriage certificate?

They both exchanged a meaningful look.

Harry looked at his grandfather and smiled, "dad..." He even faked a laugh," hahaha... Unlike the olden days, marriage can no longer be rush. My sweetheart and I are still trying to understand each other, how can we get married so soon?" Lord Douglas scoffed and stood, "you get me the marriage certificate and I resume taking my drug," Lord Douglas suddenly began to coughSome paragraphs are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Ebookex.com. This stubborn old man is so hard to convince! Harry thought as he walked back to the dinning. Marriage certificate? That's so fast.

Harry didn't want to have anything to do with any woman cause that will betray the love he has for his late girlfriend.

It's just five years that she died with their baby, how can he move on so quick?

Harry then got an idea. He can get married to her then divorce her later on? Of course! Harry then calmed his disturbed heart and soon appeared where Debby was.

"Let's leave," he said simply and Debby followed.

When they both got inside the car, Harry said to her,

"remember you must do all I want." He then started the car.

"I won't marry you," Debby didn't know where she got the courage to say that from.

Marry who? This demon? Never! He's too dangerous.

Harry turned off the car and looked at her angrily, how dare you refuse!"

"You can do whatever you want with me but not marry me," Debby said, "please!" She pleaded, her heart was beating as she kept looking at his scary face.

He grabbed her chin all of a sudden and pulled her face closer to himself, in a quick succession, he locked his lips into hers and kissed her. He sucked on her lips hard until she felt a sharp pain in it then he let her go.

Debby felt a metallic taste of blood in her mouth and she knew he must have bite on her lips, but beyound the pain, she secretly enjoyed the kiss. It was forceful but sweet.

Harry observed her and looked away. He started the car and drove off.

To Debby's surprise, the car pulled over at the Civil Bureau.

Debby knew her life is about to take a massive turn.

"Please take another woman to meet your grandfather, he may..." Before she could finish saying her word, he got down and went to her side of the door then forced her out, "my grandfather's life is on the line here. You must corporate." He took her inside the Civil Bureau and a few minutes later, they both stepped out. Harry was now holding a marriage certificate in his hand while Debby was holding the photocopy.

Are they now husband and wife? Everything was still looking like a dream to her. It all happened so fast. From cell to family introduction then to marriage! All happened in the space of six hours.

"My PA will call you," He left her standing, got inside his car and drove off.

Is that her husband? Debby pinched herself to be sure she was not dreaming.

While trying to grasp the reality of the situation, someone snatched the copy of the marriage certificate in her hand.

Before she could react, she saw Edna and her mother before her.

Edna was the one who snatched the marriage certificate from her. She was beyound shocked to see that she was married to Harry Vernon, the most powerful man in NorthHill. "Mom, see...

"Edna quickly showed the marriage certificate to her mom.

Once Alice was done reading it, she looked at Debby with anger," you ungrateful bitch, you have seduced Mr. Harry?" Both Edna and Alice were shocked. How can this poor orphan who has no family to her name be married to someone like Harry in a short period of time?

Despite the fact that Alice had maltreated and abused Debby in all her days of being with her, she still regarded her as 'mom' as there was no one else she could call 'mom.' She had only heard about her father and mother, she had never seen anyone of them. "I was surprised too... I didn't..." Before Debby could complete her statement, Alice threw a slap to her face.

It drew public attention and Debby felt utterly embarrassed,

"Mom!" Her eyes immediately became teary.

Alice tore the marriage certificate and said, "go to him and tell him you are not interested. Cancel the marriage or MI destroy you." Alice said and stormed away angrily while Edna pouted at Debby before following the footsteps of her mom.
