"Please, all I want is to see my father hale and healthy. I promise to do anything, just anything to see that he lives once again. I have betrayed him and I need to make up for it." The tears that had formed in Debby's eyes were fully falling uncontrollably. Her eyes were puffy and she sniffed also. "Debby, I have made my decision and that's final!"

He turned his back on Debby and continued reviewing his document, while Debby kept on crying profusely, thinking about all the pains she had allowed his father passed through. She reminisced back to the day he had looked at her in disdain, when she had set him up for Harry to capture and wondered if her father was ever going to forgive her.

After almost an hour of crying before Harry, who was unshaken by her tears, Debby fell asleep on the cold floor.

Harry turned around to see that she had fallen asleep, and got up to carry her to her room. When he attempted to lift her up, Debby pushed Harry away. "I am going to leave with Fred if you don't release my father." She said with determination written across her face. Harry didn't say a word, he simply watched her revert back to her sleeping position. He knelt down to Debby's level. "Broderick Alessandro is my prisoner and I will not release him. If you think for one second that I am bothered by a mere threat from you, then you can think again. There is no way you will escape with Fred when I have eyes around the place. You have tried to escape in the past and didn't work, hat makes you think you can escaoe now?" He stood up and left the study room, leaving Debby sobbing on the cold floor.

Meanwhile, Edna had arrived at Harry's mansion.

While heading towards Harry's room, she noticed a secret room she hadn't seen before and curiosity got the better of her. She moved to the room, opening the door to see that it led to a dungeon.

Edna noticed someone laying helplessly on the floor and when she checked, Edna discovered that it was Broderick Alessandro. She didn't expect Harry to capture him again and seeing his condition, Edna knew that it was only a matter of time, before he passed away.

"It such a pity really; I thought you would be wise enough to run away from Harry, but once again, you fell into his trap and this time, I don't think you will be able to make it out alive." She chuckled as the man raised his head to stare at her. "Before you die, I am a thoughtful person and I believe that people, who would die soon, should die with the truth laid bare before them. Which is why I think it is important I let you know the real truth." Edna smiled, seeing the man with pain stricken face look at her. "I am not your daughter, Mr. Broderick.

Debby is actually your daughter, I have only deceived you..." She scoffed in mockery of Broderick. "I only claimed to be your daughter for a rather important reason. Heck, I can never be the daughter of a dying man. Someone with no hope of living again. I hope you rest in peace and may the heavens accept your soul and purge you off your sins." Edna spit into the dungeon, chuckling afterwards and left.

Debby stood up from the cold floor and decided to see her father. She needed to apologize to him for setting him up against Harry. She moved out of the room and headed for the dungeon to realize that the door to the dungeon was open, meaning someone had stepped their footl inside here.

When she arrived, Debby slowly moved forward to meet Broderick, who was now seating on the bed and staring at her with an almost closed eye. She knelt down before him and wept for a moment. She needed to lay the guilt off her chest.

"I know you hate me for the things I have done to you. Since my younger days, I always wondered what the feeling to have a father felt like, I have never experienced true parental love all my life. I grew up in your sister's custody and I was treated like a slave. I am sorry for the pain that I have caused you. I should never have brought you to Darkwood, it was because I thought I doubted that I wasn't your daughter. Some paragraphs are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Ebookex.com. The doctor was bribed with money to alter the result and that was why it came out negative. You may not believe me father, but this is the truth." She held the irons of the steel cage and wept further. "I love you father and that would never change. Now that I know the truth, I can finally see the reason why it was so easy to bond with Amy. Dad, I have offended you, please forgive ms." Debby wasn't speaking words for mere speech.

She was pouring out her emotions.

Broderick watched as the young lady, who he learnt was his child squatted, crying and he was moved by it. He had nurtured hate in his heart because he believed she betrayed him and set him up for Harry.

He was slowly seeing the dichotomy between his self acclaimed daughter, who he had just figured wasn't his daughter in the first place, and his actual daughter. He realized that the signs were there, but he was too blind to notice them and now that he did, he was going to try to live for her sake. "This is my confession to you father. I wanted to purge out my guilt as I can't bare to live with them.

I certainly hope you replace a place in your heart to forgive me." Debby said, wiping off her tears and stood up to painfully to leave.

Just before she could leave, she heard a voice speak.

"You don't have to beg for anything, my daughter."

The voice was from Broderick and it sound refreshing being called a 'daughter' for the first time in a her life.
