Chapter 1834

Vermont defended his decision, "I think there's no need for unnecessary sacrifices. We should avoid whatever we can."

Frustrated, Felicity retorted, "You scum. Aren't you Keegan's best friend? Is your car worth more than his chastity?" Vermont responded calmly, "My car cost over seven million dollars. Keegan's chastity isn't worth that much."

Felicity was about to bite back. However, at that moment, a figure suddenly appeared in front of Jaylene's car. It was Aurora.

Vermont held Felicity's hand down and said, "Aurora is here. We might not need to sacrifice my car anymore."

Felicity maintained a defensive posture while keeping an eye on Aurora, who approached the car window and exchanged words with Jaylene. Subsequently, Aurora moved to the other side, opened the back door, and entered the vehicle.

Soon after, she closed the door, and they drove off.

Felicity frowned. "Why did she join them?"

Vermont started the car, "Jaylene won't do anything to Keegan with Aurora there. Are you reassured now?"

"How do you know she won't do anything?' Felicity had zero trust in Jaylene's character.

Vermont smiled faintly, "Jaylene has always presented herself as gentle, virtuous, and diplomatic. Even if she had ulterior motives, she wouldn't dare to act upon them in front of Aurora. We all know Jaylene has feelings for Keegan, but why hasn't she confessed?"

"Because she knows it would damage her reputation. That's why she chooses to only engage in flirtatious behavior. If the situation blows up, she can make it seem like Keegan initiated it. Jaylene is a strategic person. I'm sure she wouldn't dare to do anything in front of Aurora," he continued.

Felicity cursed, "That pretentious bitch!"

"Let's tail them and see what's going on."

Inside Jaylene's car, Keegan found himself seated between

Aurora and Jaylene. His face appeared flushed, and the scent of alcohol lingered around him. With half-closed eyes, he leaned against the seat in silence.

Jaylene opened a bottle of water and handed it to him while saying, "Are you still feeling uncomfortable, Keegan? Do you want some water?"

Keegan took a sip, looking weary.

"Thank you for giving us a lift, Jaylene. I wouldn't manage my brother in this condition alone otherwise," Aurora expressed her gratitude.

In a soothing tone, Jaylene replied, "It's no trouble. Since Keegan and I came together, I want to ensure he gets home safely."

She then took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the water droplets from Keegan's lips.

Aurora observed Jaylene's actions and smiled, "Jaylene, you're really thoughtful. If my brother marries you, the two of us will surely get along well.”

Jaylene lowered her eyes and whispered, "Aurora, don't say such things. Keegan's heart belongs to Stella."

Aurora dismissed it, "That was before. He doesn't even remember her now. He gets annoyed every time he sees her face, and they've been quarreling a lot recently."

All of a sudden, Keegan coughed several times, his face flushing red, possibly due to water or something else.

Jaylene hurriedly patted his back. After Keegan closed his eyes again, she said, "How could that be? Keegan survived a life-threatening situation. Stella should treat him well. Why would they be quarreling?"

Aurora snorted, "If my brother were gone, most of his assets would have gone to her. Now that he's back, the will is null and void. I'm sure she's not happy about that."
