Jaylene had been spoiled for over twenty years and had never been treated so poorly like this before. With just a few harsh words from Grace, tears welled up in her eyes as if she would burst out crying anytime.

Her comfortable bubble had finally burst, and she was forced to confront the real world.

Stella had experienced worse when she worked part-time as a waitress during college. Grace was not even being unreasonable, yet Jaylene still could not take it.

Aubrey came back soon after and said to Grace while holding her phone," Mrs.

Esper, Mrs. Saun would like to speak to you."

Grace was still angry and said coldly, "Who does she think she is? If she wants to speak to me, tell her to come here right now!"

Of course, Darcie could not come over at this moment because she was more than a thousand miles away.

So, Aubrey quickly put the phone on speaker, and Darcie's voice came through.

"Mrs. Esper, it's me. Aubrey has told me about the situation. I can't believe the two girls made such a mistake. It's outrageous."

Stella's eyelid abruptly twitched as she thought inwardly, 'Well, now I know where Jaylene's character came from. Like mother like daughter.' Even though it was clearly Jaylene's fault, Darcie made it sound like Stella also played a part in it.

However, Joe spoke loudly, "Mrs. Saun, your daughter is the only person to blame here. Ms. Hall has spent the whole afternoon attending to my mom. You can't possibly let her take the fall for what happened, right?"

Stella looked at Joe in surprise.

'Wow, he's just as good at picking up on bitchy vibes as Leighton is,' Stella said to herself.

The other end of the phone fell silent for a moment before Darcie spoke again, "It's our company's mistake no matter what. Mrs. Esper, you've been our client for so many years, and you know how I do things. "I can guarantee you that what happened was purely unintentional. She just started working and isn't very good at expressing herself yet. Could you please tell me how you would like to resolve this matter? I'll do my best to make it happen."

Darcie sounded very polite and even somewhat humble. However, Grace was not buying it at all.

As a wealthy lady like herself, she did not care about the money at all.

What irritated her was being used as a pawn in their company's internal conflicts.

"When I return, I'll personally visit you and understand the situation to help you resolve it. Would that be okay with you?"

"Let me ask you one last time: can I cancel my membership now or not?"
