Stella shook her head.

She had asked Trevor about this before.

Jaylene's full name used to be Jaylene Arnold. When Darcie first married Wenham, she did not have Saun as her last name. Later, during a parentteacher meeting, Darcie fell ill and could not attend. So, Wenham went on her behalf.

Wenham had never attended Jaylene's parent-teacher meetings before. Her teachers did not know him, so they had to replace out their relationship first. That was when the teachers found out that the father and daughter had different last names.

They only realized that Darcie had remarried then. Being in elementary school, the most talkative and insensitive age, Jaylene's identity as a stepdaughter quickly spread across the school.

She got upset and refused to go to school. She cried and asked Wenham why Trevor had the same last name as him while hers was different. Everyone was saying that she was not Wenham's daughter. Wenham had always been a soft-hearted person. If Darcie had said it, he might not have agreed. However, Jaylene was only seven or eight years old at that time. He just could not bear to see a little child crying like that. So, he changed her last name.

After Stella explained the whole story, Felicity said, Tve always wondered why your dad could raise Trevor as such a good person, yet Jaylene is nothing like him. It turns out she's been like this since she was little!

"How could she not know why she had a different last name from them when she was already seven or eight years old? I'm pretty sure that your stepmother taught her to do so!

"That is the only way she can enjoy the privilege of being the Saun family's daughter and officially become a part of the family as time goes by!"

Felicity was right. People who were not very close with the Saun family all thought that Jaylene was Wenham's biological daughter.

This misconception only ended when the Saun family held a party to welcome Stella back.

Of course, it also had to do with Wenham introducing her to everyone they met.

Whenever they attended events together, he would introduce her to others, saying, "This is my daughter, Stella Hall. She wants to bear her mother's last name because she likes it."

And when someone mentioned Jaylene, he would say, "Jaylene is more like her mother, and Stella is more like me. I mean, like father like daughter, right?"

At first, Stella thought Wenham had said them unintentionally, but she changed her mind as this happened more frequently.

Vermont lifted his gaze at Stella. "You managed to steal that big client from Darcie just like that? Could it be that Keegan helped you?"

Keegan said flatly, "No, I didn't know about it at all."

Felicity thought to herself, 'What's wrong with him? He didn't do anything to help, yet he can speak so confidently.' Vermont did not believe it at all. Keegan was someone who would spend the whole day on se when Stella was filming, and with something as big as this, he refused to believe that Keegan would sit back and do nothing.

Vermont rubbed his stomach with a painful expression. "Why did you hit me right after I ate?"

Felicity reached out to massage his stomach. "You're so fragile."

Vermont was speechless.

Keegan tapped Stella under the table. She looked at him and followed his gaze, noticing a red mark around Vermont's neck. Vermont met Stella's gaze and suggested flatly, "You two have eaten a lot.

Why don't you take a stroll downstairs to help with the digestion?"
