Mr. Poker Face’s Sweetheart By Lee Dubois -
Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Giselle still didn’t have much appetite.
Meanwhile, Jenny was inviting everyone in the agent department to lunch. “Shall we go to the restaurant downstairs or order takeaway? if we order takeaway, I’ll treat you to enjoy the meal made by the restaurant of my family’s hotel.”
“You mean the Joyland Hotel?” Someone asked.
Jenny replied, “Sure!”
“Then let’s order takeaway. I’ve never dined at the Joyland Hotel! It is said that the lunch is excellent!”
Jenny pretended to be indifferent and said, “Of course. The meal of a five–star hotel should have a higher standard.”
Many employees, who used to stay in the office and have lunch with Giselle, were all attracted by Jenny’s lunch invitation.
Even though Giselle was the vice director of the department, the staff probably believed that she had been targeted and would be kicked out of the company soon.
Giselle hadn’t left the company yet, but her colleagues had already given up on her.
Jenny asked Giselle louder, “Will you join our lunch party? I’ll treat you!”
Giselle replied, “No need, thanks.”
Jenny said, “Don’t reject me yet. Although there are some grudges between us, as your colleague, I’m still very generous.”
“No need.”
Giselle happened to see Hymes‘ new message. She smiled subconsciously and said, “My husband will bring me lunch later.”
When Giselle mentioned Hymes, Jenny thought about that horrifying, cold, but extremely handsome man she met yesterday.
Jenny suppressed her jealousy and smiled. “I guess not everyone’s lunch is made of love. Come on, leave Giselle alone. I’ll let you try the cooking of the chef of my family’s hotel!”
Jenny made a phone call. Soon, the lunch was delivered, and there seemed to be more food than what she had ordered.
The packaging was printed with the logo of the five–star hotel, which seemed very delicate.
“Such a meal would cost about 100 dollars!”
“Yeah. Even the discounted menu of Joyland Hotel would cost about 80 dollars.”
“Wow! Is this a Beef Wellington? So cool!”
Under everyone’s flattery, Jenny gave the lunchboxes to all the staff complacently. “Go ahead. Enjoy your meal! If you have any suggestions, you can tell me, and I’ll let the chef make some improvements!”
An employee said enviously, “Awesome! It’s so impressive that your family has a five–star hotel!”
Jenny didn’t forget to mock Giselle. “Giselle, are you sure you don’t want to join us? Where’s your husband’s delivery? Did he burn all the dishes and didn’t dare to deliver them to you?”
Giselle ignored Jenny and let her flaunt as much as she wanted.
Fortunately, Giselle received a call from the deliverer soon.
“Ms. Ostry, your lunch is here.”
Giselle hurriedly went outside.
However, she felt a bit confused when she saw the deliverer.
“When did deliverers start wearing suits?” Giselle thought.
Besides, this man’s suit seemed quite high–ended.
Under Giselle’s doubtful gaze, Leo explained calmly, “Ms. Ostry, I’m… Hymes‘ colleague. I happened to pass by, so I came here to deliver your lunch
“Oh, I see! Thank you so much. Have you eaten? Would you like to eat together?”
Leo felt nervous and shook his head repeatedly. “No need!”
He didn’t dare to eat the lunch that his boss had prepared.
In order to prepare this lunch, Hymes even turned half of his office into a kitchen.
Chapter 10
Besides, he ordered Leo to deliver this lunch to make sure that it would be handed to Giselle.
Fortunately, the president’s office was on the top floor. Otherwise, Pino Capital’s employees would know what their boss had done during lunch
break…
After Leo left, Giselle took the lunchbox to the resting area because her desk was opposite the bathroom.
Jenny saw Giselle and came over with many employees. “Let me see what you are having for lunch today. How is your husband’s cooking?”
Giselle looked at Jenny calmly. “Why do you care?”
“We’re just curious. Can’t we even look at your meal and see how it is?”
“Then you should ask Mickey to cook for you instead of looking at mine.”
Jenny felt speechless.
After all, Mickey was a male chauvinist who never cooked by himself.
He wouldn’t even wash his socks, let alone cook a meal for someone.
Giselle’s husband was very handsome and even knew how to cook. Although he wasn’t rich or powerful, Jenny still felt a bit jealous.
Giselle opened the lunchbox, and Jenny bent over to look at it.
The lunchbox had three compartments. The top one was filled with cheese risotto, and its golden color was very tempting.
The middle one was occupied by a peeled giant lobster, and the seafood sauce beside it had a very attractive scent.
And the bottom one was full of black truffle salad.
“Wow. This seems to be a lobster!”
“It’s that black truffle? I think so…”
“What a wonderful meal! It looks awesome!”
The staff couldn’t help but praise Hymes‘ cooking. Jenny immediately interrupted them and said, “Giselle, are you sure this is your husband’s cooking? Did he buy this lunch at a restaurant so that it can be as good as mine?”
“Jenny,” Giselle looked at Jenny calmly and said, “don’t humiliate my husband’s effort. You can’t doubt the others just because you can’t have the
same.”
“I didn’t…
Jenny became speechless and even furious.
When she was about to scold Giselle, Mickey came in with a very excited look. “Jenny, good news! The Pino Capital permitted my appointment! Come with me to meet them this afternoon.”
Jenny was overjoyed. She said to Giselle, “Did you hear that? The Pino Capital agreed to negotiate with Mickey! He will soon get this cooperation successfully!”
Giselle ignored Jenny and kept eating.
No wonder Jenny had questioned her. Giselle also felt a bit doubtful, wondering whether Hymes had made this lunch himself.
Besides, he didn’t seem to have enough time to cook at the insurance company. Giselle wondered if Hymes didn’t have much work to do.
If Hymes wasn’t busy, he probably couldn’t make much money.
Giselle sighed secretly, thinking that she should work harder. If Hymes couldn’t make a fortune, she would support their living in the future.
He could cook and be responsible for the housework while she worked hard and made enough money.
Seeing that Giselle had completely ignored her, Jenny stomped angrily, then went to Mickey to flirt with him.
Mickey glanced disdainfully at Giselle, who was still sitting in the resting area. He told Jenny, “Let’s go to Pino Capital right now and meet them as soon as possible. If I can get this cooperation, I’ll buy you a huge gift with my bonus!”
“I’m looking forward to it!” Jenny said.
After the eyesores finally left, Giselle wiped her mouth and took a photo of the empty lunchbox. Then, she sent the photo to Hymes: II followed your instruction and ate everything.]
She didn’t have much appetite, but Hymes‘ cooking was surprisingly irresistible.
Several minutes later, Hymes only replied with two words: [Good girl.]
Chapter 10
Giselle’s ears somehow became hot. She wondered whether Hymes had been in many relationships before. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be so good at flirting.
However, Hymes told her he hadn’t had time or energy to spend on any relationship.
Mickey and Jenny arrived at Pino Capital complacently, thinking that they could finally achieve their goals.
The building of Pino Capital was towering. Standing in the hall, Mickey swore secretly that he would become mighty and influential in the future!
However, after Mickey told the receptionist his name and appointment, the receptionist said flatly. “The director is still having a meeting. Please wait a
moment.”
“For how long?” Mickey asked.
“I don’t know. It depends on how long the meeting will last,” replied the receptionist.
Mickey didn’t mind waiting, thinking that he would meet the director in no time.
He took Jenny to the reception area and felt more expectant and excited.
However, Mickey had never expected that he would wait for an entire afternoon!
