Mr. Poker Face’s Sweetheart By Lee Dubois -
Chapter 25
Chapter 25
Jenny did not know who Kila was and was puzzled upon seeing Kila show up, “Who are you?”
Mickey was a little flustered, “Kila Bradley? What are you doing here?”
“Didn’t I make it clear? I’m here to teach this scum a lesson while also wanting to see how the cheating couple is fairing”
Jenny gritted her teeth and warned, “Mind your words! Or else I’ll sue you for slander!”
Kila’s eyes glittered with amusement, “That’s great. Do you want my business card?”
Mickey whispered to Jenny, “She is a friend of Giselle, a lawyer.”
Jenny snorted, “So what if she is a lawyer? My family can easily hire well–renowned lawyers! This woman doesn’t look professional at all. Besides, Giselle’s friend is definitely as bad as her.”
The other employees were silently cowering on the sofa. This matter had nothing to do with them, so naturally, they would not stand up for Mickey and Jenny so easily.
The corner of Kila’s mouth was lifted into a sneer, “Not too good, but at least I’m better than someone else who knew that the guy was taken yet still flocked to him like some fly looking for a shit!
“My friend accidentally got stuck in a pile of shit, and thanks to a fly like you, she finally managed to escape from that pit. I’m seriously grateful for your
help.”
Jenny’s expression was very grim, as one could only lose when arguing with a lawyer.
Jenny howled in anger, “Mickey, look at how this friend of Giselle is talking bad about me. Quick, say something for me!”
Mickey was losing his reputation, and he gloomily looked at Kila, “The breakup is between Giselle and me, and we have already ended everything. So there’s no need for you to stand up for her.”
“So what if it ended? Can’t I come over here to scold you? You dared to cheat, yet you’ve no guts to withstand the backlash. How can everything always be in your favor?”
“It’s not just my fault that we broke up. It’s mostly because of Giselle too! You’re her friend, so of course, you would speak up for her!”
Even at a time like this, Mickey still tried to argue back. Kila despised Mickey and sneered, “What a scum. Pushing all the blame on the girlfriend after breaking up. Why don’t you mention that you can’t control that lower body of yours? At least, my dear Giselle had never done anything wrong when she was with you!”
“Kila Bradley!” Mickey’s face was flushed as he lashed out his anger, “I have no grudge against you. Don’t force me to hurt you if you dare to provoke me like this again!”
“How are you going to hurt her?”
An icy cold question rang out.
After seeing it was Giselle, Jenny became even more furious. Jenny sneered, “You’re so shameless, Giselle! You’ve already broken up with my boyfriend, yet you are still pestering him. Now, you even got your friend to stand up for you. You really make me sick!”
“Pestering him?” Giselle snickered, “I think you’ve mistaken a thing. My friend simply couldn’t stand seeing a scum living happily, so she did it for the good of all people.”
“As for pestering…”
Giselle wrapped her arms around the man beside her, “Do you think I need to pester the scum?”
Under the bewitching lights of the bar, the man beside Giselle was tall and strikingly handsome, with his full composure showing off his manliness,

Chapter 25
As soon as Mickey saw Hymes, his competitive spirit as a man was triggered, and Mickey taunted loudly, “He is just a damn insurance salesman. Do you really believe that you’ve married a wealthy husband? The ring he bought you was fake, and you would treat a man like him as something precious!”
Jenny covered her mouth and snickered, “Isn’t that true? But let’s not burst her dream and let her continue living in her own fantasy of marrying a wealthy husband. Otherwise, living through the days would be difficult for her”
Their commotion had attracted the surrounding customers to speculate.
Amidst those curious stares, Jenny was very proud and flaunted, “Giselle, I seriously pity you. In order to get back at Mickey, you married hurriedly with such a man… And in the end, you’ve wasted your whole future on him. How is that worth it?”
“Too bad she couldn’t replace a better man than me. If not, what’s the need to marry so fast? A woman like her is impossible to settle in such a big city, so she had no choice but to marry a local!”
Giselle glittering bright eyes were beaming with laughter as she ignored their insults, “If this will make you guys feel better, so be it. Whether my ringis fake of genuine, or my husband is good or bad, only I know the truth.”
Kila sarcastically rebutted, “I bet they are just jealous, and said the ring is fake. They might be wearing fake items, so they assumed others were doing the
same too!”
“Bullshit! Mickey would never buy me fake goods! Besides, with Mickey’s financial strength, there’s no need to buy fake items! However, how much can Giselle’s husband earns from selling insurance per year?”
Giselle shook her head and said, “Jenny, you’re indeed a good match for Mickey. Although he is a local, his whole family lives together in a cramped old house. His living standard isn’t much superior, so he tries to marry a wealthy girl.
“As for you, everything you talk about is all about money. Yet, you’ve never once noticed that there are plenty of other worthy things in life which are equally important than money.”
Jenny disdained, “Poor couples stay together longer? What a joke! Besides, don’t you care about money? If not, why are you still desperately trying to stay in Reywing?”
“I stayed in Reywing because I like my job and want to seek my value in life. I want to settle here by my own efforts, so money is important, but it is not the only thing.”
Giselle glanced sideways at Hymes and said solemnly, “Whether he is rich or not, since I’ve already married him, I’m prepared to live any kind of lifestyle together.
“Even if he is poor, I can still rely on my own efforts to support our lives. As long as he is willing, hard–working, and responsible, he is far better off than a man like Mickey, who is full of pretentious benevolence but is actually a stingy petty gold–digger man!”
“You…” Mickey was furious, while Jenny was dumbfounded.
Kila applauded from the side, “That’s the correct principle one should have, but unfortunately, some people would never understand and always thought that one could oppress others with money!”
Some of the customers speculated about the commotion and commented on Giselle’s claims.
“That’s a valid point. Although money is important, society looks more than that.”
“As long as the couple is willing to work hard, they don’t have to worry about their future. On the contrary, those who only care about money might go their separate ways once they become bankrupt one day.”
“The most important thing is choosing the right person for the marriage to last long. As for those that cheated, they are totally unreliable for the long
Tun!”
All these comments were particularly stabbing and hurt Mickey’s pride. Mickey took a step forward and was about to explode.
Hymes, who had been quiet all this while, reacted immediately.
Hymes side–stepped and shielded Giselle while his eyes burned with murderous intention, “Come at me if you want to fight.”
