Chapter 78
Hymes chose a nearby VIP club and sank into the sofa, his fingers supporting his temples and his expression cold. “What’s the next step in this plan you guys came up with? What am I supposed to do?”
Andy tugged at his collar and casually said, “What can you do? Just keep lying. With Giselle’s condition back then, she wouldn’t have given you the time of day if you’d approached her with your real identity.”
Andy stroked his chin. “It’s really strange. Women who aren’t into money are so rare, and you fell for one of them!”
Hymes snorted. “She likes money, but she doesn’t like taking it from others for nothing.”
“Judging from Giselle’s past social media activities, she does care about social status, so there’s no chance she’d be interested in your real identity.” Neville calmly assessed. “Taking this risk may be dangerous, but it’s the most effective approach.”
Hymes didn’t regret it.
He lifted his hawk–like eyes. “So, I have no choice but to keep lying.”
“At least until there’s a chance she might forgive you. With the current state of your relationship, the probability of her forgiving you after the truth comes out is… 0.1%.”
Neville’s cruel analysis deepened the furrow between Hymes‘ brows, and his eyes filled with cold darkness. “I’ll arrange for someone to take care of the insurance agent’s family right away.”
If he had to keep lying, he had to make the lie even deeper.
Andy joked, “Mr. Giles, you have become more cautious since falling in love. If you were like this from the beginning, you wouldn’t have made it in the international financial market.”
“Shut up, Hymes‘ eyes swept over him coldly. “It was your idea.”
“You were pretty happy to accept it at the time, weren’t you?” Andy boasted. “Besides, without my idea, how would you have become a part of her family and gotten that marriage certificate?”
Hymes remained silent, and after a while, he coldly took out his phone to make the necessary arrangements.
That evening, Giselle received a call from Lucas, as she had hoped.
For once, Lucas was furious. “You’ve gone too far this time, and your mother and I are very disappointed!”
“I’m sorry, Dad… but I’m serious. Even though we got married so quickly, I don’t regret it at all.”
After a long pause, Lucas sighed. “I’ll make some time to contact his family and discuss your situation. When you have a chance, bring him home so your mother and I can see if we approve of him…”
“If we can’t accept him, you better break it off with him, even if it means getting a divorce!”
Giselle was confident when it came to meeting Hymes. “I’m sure you’ll be very pleased once you meet him!”
When Hymes returned, Giselle had just finished a live stream.
She went downstairs for a glass of water and purposely approached Hymes.
He didn’t reek of smoke or alcohol, which showed that even when she wasn’t around, he was still very disciplined.
Giselle was satisfied, and her eyes curved like crescent moons. “Go to bed early, goodnight.”
Hymes stared at her thin nightgown, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “Goodnight.”
Chapter 78
The next day, Giselle learned from Marie that they had contacted Hymes‘ parents. They seemed easygoing, knowing abour the relationship between the two, and were somewhat supportive.
There were still more details that hadn’t been discussed.
Giselle’s parents hadn’t accepted that she was married, and she knew that she needed to bring Hymes home to meet them personally in order to change their prejudices about him.
Giselle hadn’t specifically talked to Hymes about this, but she thought he probably knew. After all, they would have to go home eventually, and they would think about what happened next over time.
At the company, Jenny didn’t come in today.
Other colleagues mentioned she took several days off, citing a family matter, but nobody knew the specifics.
Giselle stopped worrying about Jenny, but Nora came to the company again, causing her some trouble.
Nora sat in front of Giselle and seemed sincere for once. “I genuinely want to work with you. You know that being a model isn’t a long–term career, and I want to start my own company and create my own makeup brand in the future. But I don’t have enough popularity yet, so I need you.”
According to the details Nora previously discussed with the company, if she signed with their agency, they would manage her social media presence.
This would include content planning for short video platforms and major social media sites, as well as future independent business deals.
Given Nora’s existing popularity, Kevin was very interested in her, and even Tyler advised Giselle to set aside any personal grievances.
It wasn’t the time for pride.
Giselle knew this too.
**”I haven’t managed an Internet celebrity like you before. Content for both Oscar and Natasha are talent–based. So, even though I’m experienced in positioning and content production, for you, I’m not so sure.””
Giselle was honest and not biased.
Nora didn’t seem as arrogant as before.
Her mood wasn’t great either, and her polite manner surprised Giselle. “I’ve seen the profiles of your company’s agents, and your results are the best. I can only trust you a little more.”
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll use personal grievances against you?”
“If you don’t manage me well, the one who won’t benefit is you. I can still make money from my regular job, so it doesn’t affect me, righ
“Giselle, if you hate me because of the past, I apologize. I admit that most of my actions were out of jealousy.”
Nora lowered her eyes. “But now, I have to seize this opportunity. The other companies didn’t offer good terms, and your company is the most sincere. But I don’t trust anyone else.”
“Let me think about it.”
Giselle didn’t make a decision easily.
She couldn’t be indifferent to everything that happened in the past, so she needed more time to consider.

Tll give you my business card, and you can contact me when you make up your mind. I’ll sign with your company right
away.
Giselle took the business card and politely saw Nora out.
She didn’t have time to think about it since she had scheduled a photo shoot for Natasha in the afternoon to create promotional images for future advertising and business deals.
An Internet celebrity’s image was important.
But Natasha was new and hadn’t taken many photos before, so she was a bit stiff and constrained.
Giselle stayed with Natasha from the afternoon until the evening, finally finishing the shoot.
The photography studio was in a remote location, and Hymes had arrived early to pick her up.
As everyone left the studio, Giselle saw Hymes in the car.
His handsome side profile was striking and alluring.
Hymes caught sight of Giselle and got out of the car to approach her.
Natasha’s eyes sparkled. “Giselle, is that your husband?”
