Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife
Chapter 37: Helen of Troy

Since Madame Powell was able to investigate Diana's background, it was not difficult to get her mobile number.

Diana was busy at the studio when Madame Powell called.

She frowned seeing an unknown number on display.

"Hello, may I know who are you?"

An elegant and serious tone was heard after few seconds of silence.

"Are you Anna?"

The other party spoke coldly.

All women from wealthy family liked using this tone, her mother was no different. Though she didn't have much of memories, that woman spoke with this tone too.

Diana smiled mockingly and replied, "Yes, I am Anna, may I know who is speaking?"

The other end let out a cold groan and introduced herself. "I'm Brooklyn Powell's mother."

This put a smile on Diana's face.

So, she wanted to show her some colors?

Brooklyn's mother called because she learned that she was sharing an office with Brooklyn.

It was not Brooklyn that told his mother, it must be Mirabelle then.

Diana answered lightly with an "Oh" and continued, "So it's Mr. Powell's mother. How are you? May I know the reason you called?"

Madame Powell leaned on the sofa leisurely and raised her eyebrow.

This lady didn't even sound scared.

"You know who am I but gave a response like this?

"How should I responded, Madame Powell?" It was a joke to Diana.

Unlike Mirabelle, she had no desire to marry into the Powell family.

Madame Powell was nothing but a mother of her superior, an ordinary elderly.

They were in the same position, if Brooklyn fired her under Madame Powell's pressure, it was only the Powell Group that would experience loss.

Many companies were lining up to buy her perfumes, Powell Group was not the only one!

Diana's pinkish lips without any lipstick on moved. "You are my superior's mother, not my mother! We are all human, none is above the other. Madame Powell, please do tell me why did you call." Madame Powell almost fainted out of anger.

She calmed herself down and said elegantly, "I want to meet you, I will send someone to fetch you later."

Diana turned serious, "You investigated me?"

Madame Powell smiled. "You are my son's assistant, of course, I need to investigate you. I learned that you are living with your two children in an apartment? Nothing serious, I just wish to know a little about you. Perhaps I should tell you that the Powell Group owns part of the shares of the school your children are attending. You get what I mean?"

"Is Madame Powell threatening me?"

"No, I never threatened anyone, I just want to tell you that I want to meet you."

Madame Powell hung up soon after and handed the phone to the housekeeper.

"What time is it now?" She asked.

The housekeeper replied, "It's half-past three, Madame."

She nodded, "I guess he should be there already."

In the meantime, someone rang the bell at Diana's apartment.

Austin frowned. They just moved to Sliwell City, they didn't have many friends. Who would come to visit during Mommy's day off?

He went to the door and saw a stranger man through the surveillance camera.

He wore a black suit with sunglasses on.

Austin pouted his lips and ran towards Diana's studio, "Mommy, there's a stranger at the door."

Security in the high-end apartment was tight, non-resident would not pass through easily. Unless...

The person who wanted to enter was from high authority that the security had to let him pass.

Diana still had her mobile in her hand, she patted on Austin's head, "Go play with your sister, I'll have a look, don't worry, it should be my colleague." She walked to the door with her slipper, "Who is that?"

The man outside replied politely, "Ms. Anna, I'm Madame Powell's driver, I guess you spoke to Madame just now."

He told her straight.

Diana stared at her mobile for a couple of seconds and put it back into her pocket. She crossed her arms and asked, "What if I refuse to go?"

The man smiled, "Please don't put me in a difficult situation. You don't have many friends in Sliwell City, don't you? Mr. Powell is having a conference call now, he has no time for you. I believe you are smart enough not to provoke the most powerful person in Sliwell after Mr. Powell."

Diana smiled, she wasn't afraid of Madame Powell.

Madame Powell wouldn't dare to do anything to her despite disliking her to the core.

However, better to be safe than sorry, Diana texted Rachel.

"Rachel, Brooklyn's mom wanted to meet me, if I don't contact you in three hours, you know what to do."

Diana then replied to the man outside, "Alright, but please wait for a while. It's my day off today, I haven't washed up, and I will go with you after I'm done."

She turned around and walked back into the house.

Austin and Emily were eavesdropping behind the door.

"Mommy, was that a bad person?" Emily asked with her eyes wide opened.

Diana shook her head, took off her casual wear and put it on the sofa.

"It's the mother of Mommy's superior at work." She replied.

"Daddy's mother? Isn't she our grandma?" Austin realized.

He had been investigating Mirabelle and Brooklyn but not the elderly.

Diana nodded with "Hmm."

She didn't know much about Madame Powell too, all she knew was most women from the wealthy family were not kind.

Her tone wasn't friendly just now over the phone, guess that woman would use this as her leverage.

Diana put on a white dress, light make-up and made a ponytail, she looked mature and modern.

She pushed open the door and smiled at the driver with sunglasses on.

"Let's go, we shouldn't let your Madame wait too long."

And she walked towards the elevator wearing her heels and pressed the first floor.

Her perfume attracted the man but he was quick to resume back his own self.

No wonder why Madame dislike this woman, she even wanted to teach her a lesson at home.

She was such a Helen of Troy, men started war for her beauty...☐☐☐☐☐☐
