Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife -
Chapter 47: She Was Fascinated by Him with Only One Glance
Right at this moment, a waiter walked over. He slightly bowed at Brooklyn and Dianna and then politely told them, "Mr. Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Hill invite you and Anna to have a conversation." Mirabelle's expression became more complicated when she heard the words.
Her face, which was originally gentle and beautiful, became more and more ferocious because of jealousy.
She bit her lower lip with great force and struggled again. Seeing that Dianna was focusing her attention on the waiter, Mirabelle withdrew her hand. She wanted to slap Dianna again reflectively, yet the man beside her suddenly grasped her wrist.
"Mirabelle, don't embarrass yourself again." Brooklyn's voice carried a cold warning.
His eyes were black and unfathomable and he glanced over Mirabelle sharply.
Mirabelle couldn't help but shiver.
It was so horrifying.
She had never seen such a gaze from Brooklyn.
The man's force was much greater than Dianna's. Although he didn't use too much force, Mirabelle found that she couldn't free herself no matter how hard she tried.
The noises surroundings disappeared in an instant.
Everyone uncontrollably took two steps backwards, feeling that the ferocious man would vent his anger on them.
Even Dianna could feel that Brooklyn was so displeased now.
She took a glance at Mirabelle with the corners of her eyes and found that her forehead broke out into cold sweats due to pain.
Dianna pressed her lips, "Mr. Powell, I will go there first. As for the matter between you and Ms. Moss, I have to remind you that you're still in the public, so please pay attention to the possible negative impact. Otherwise, I and Harper will have to deal with it."
Brooklyn sneered.
Why didn't she think of the subsequences when she quarreled with Mirabelle and sought trouble for him just now? Why did she only fear of the possible negative impact until now?
Brooklyn didn't reply him. After Dianna's leaving, he quickly let go of the grip on Mirabelle's wrist and said, "Harper, send Ms. Moss back."
Mirabelle moved her lips, "Brooklyn, you can't treat me like this. I'm not..."
But Mirabelle suddenly paused as she was scared by Brooklyn's ferocious eyes.
"If you want to be the headlines of the newspapers tomorrow, you can go on to make a fuss." Brooklyn warned her with no emotions in his black eyes.
Mirabelle felt her spot point was grabbed by this man.
If she continued to make a fuss here, she was afraid that she would be the headlines of the newspapers tomorrow.
"Harper, send her back."
After finishing the words, Brooklyn left without taking a glance at Mirabelle again.
The onlookers who watched this couldn't help but doubt the engagement between Brooklyn and Mirabelle.
According to Brooklyn's attitude just now, it looked quite different from the rumor that he would engage with Mirabelle soon...
Mr. and Mrs. Hill were so happy when they saw Dianna.
They always appreciated those talented young artists and Dianna happened to be the kind of oriental girl that they favored the most.
Mrs. Hill used the perfume 'The Necklace' developed by Dianna today.
She gently held up Dianna's hand and said with a smile, "Anna, I and my husband will come back to our country tomorrow, so we specially held this evening party to introduce you to the fashion community of Sliwell, shall we?"
Dianna was stunned.
Although she was imaginative, she hadn't imagined that Mr. and Mrs. Hill held this evening party for the sake of her.
She was suddenly overwhelmed by complicated emotion and was lost for words.
Mrs. Hill exchanged a glance with her husband. She thought that maybe Dianna was a shy oriental girl and she felt embarrassed, so she comforted her with a smile, "if Ms. Miller doesn't want it, we won't force you."
Dianna replied with a smile, "Mrs. Hill, I'm still young and I only became a perfumer two years ago. I'm less experienced than those famous masters."
"Talented artist don't need the test of the time." Mrs. Hill said with a smile, "Usually they will be famous when they're young, just like you. But it doesn't matter if you don't want it. I and my husband will introduce out friends to you later. I hope that we will see you on the bigger international stages."
Mr. Hill nodded his head, "We have engaged in the fashion circle for many years and naturally we have accumulated some interpersonal relationships. If you want to come to the bigger stage one day, Hillvie will always welcome you."
"Mr. Hill, Mrs. Hill, I accompany my boss to this evening party today. We came here in a hurry, so I didn't have the time to prepare a gift. If you agree to it, I will develop a new perfume for you in one month as the gift for our meeting."
Mr. Hill exchanged a glance with Mrs. Hill and they smiled at each other.
Having gained the experience from the trouble last time, Dianna didn't drink anything today.
When Dianna came back to Brooklyn, she found that Mirabelle had left and she didn't see Harper either. She could roughly guess the reason.
"What did Mr. and Mrs. Hill talk with you?" Holding a wine glass, Brooklyn appeared to be affectionate and lazy.
"They want to snatch your employee." Dianna replied in a joking voice. She waved her hand to refuse the wine handed by a waiter, "I don't drink." Brooklyn raised his brows, "To snatch my employee?"
Dianna replied, "Yep, I'm your subordinate. And Mr. and Mrs. Hill hope that I can work for them. Aren't they trying to snatch your employee?"
Brooklyn lowered his head to take a sip of the wine and then lazily played the wine glass in his hand.
Several seconds later, he took a glance at the scene not far away and was suddenly interested.
When he shifted his gaze back to Dianna, he curled his lips into a meaningful smile.
Dianna blinked her eyes. She didn't understand what Brooklyn meant.
She failed to hail a taxi outside of the hotel and learned that Harper had driven Mirabelle back to the villa. Brooklyn opened the car door and asked her to take a seat on the passenger seat. Only then did she figure out what the smile meant.
She didn't drink alcohol today, so she was quite sober.
But now, she felt as if she was drunken and muddle-headed.
Dianna secretly swallowed her salvia. When seeing the handsome face that was only several centimeters away from hers, she held her breath.
She just wanted to buckle up the seatbelt just now. But before she could react, the man on the driver's seat had leaned forward and he looked up after fastened her seatbelt.
She had to admit that Brooklyn looked handsome.
He was like the vintage wine that a woman would be fascinated by him with only one glance.
The lights in the car were ambiguously yellow.
Dianna swallowed her salvia again. She even felt like her heart was going to jump out of her throat.
The man that was only several centimeters away from her spoke slowly, "Anna, what do you want to get from the Powell Group?"
His voice was deep and was quite pleasant to ears, just like the sound made by a violoncello.
His warm breath gently caressed over her face.
Dianna wanted to move backwards, but behind her back was the chair.
She could only tried her best to not to touch the man's skin.
"In other words, what do you want to get by staying by my side?"
Under the romantic lights, Brooklyn fixed his sharp eyes on Dianna, leaving her no room to escape.
If this continued, she would fail to hide her secret because of the man's aura.
When thinking of this, Dianna braced herself, wrapped her arms around Brooklyn's neck and landed a kiss on his lips.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
