"Mrs. Swift, you risked your life to protect us and even traded your own daughter's life for my sister..."

After leaving the Fox family villa to bury his relatives, Dustin fell to his knees before Michelle.

"From today onward, you will be like my own mother! I will take care of you in the twilight of your life and make sure you live comfortably!" he said solemnly. Michelle's eyes welled up with tears as she looked lovingly at Dustin.

"Let's not talk about this. Let's go back to my place." Michelle dragged Dustin away. She was worried that the massacre of the Cave family would attract trouble.

Dustin followed her into a tall building and walked to a company's offices.

Michelle lived in a storage room beside the company's washroom.

In the cramped space, there was a bed and some necessities.

Dustin felt his eyes prickle with tears.

It seemed that Michelle lived a very difficult life.

"Sit here and wait for me for a moment. I'll be back," Michelle said.

"Miss Shawna is a very nice person. When I was at my lowest, she helped me and even gave me a job. She allowed me to work as a janitor here. Wait here. I'll beg for her help once again. I'm sure she'll give you a job so you can make a living, too." Michelle walked off after saying that.

"Miss Shawna?" Dustin raised an eyebrow.

He walked out of the storage room and looked at the company's list of employees.

In the general manager's spot was the photograph of a gorgeous woman. Her name was Shawna Welch.

"Dustin, come meet Miss Shawna," Michelle called.

Dustin looked over when he heard Michelle's voice and froze.

Beside Michelle, there was a stunningly beautiful woman with lovely features and bright eyes.

She looked to be quite young. Her office wear showed off her stunning curves, and her simple makeup highlighted her exquisite beauty.

The company office seemed to brighten with her presence.

"Miss Shawna, this is Dustin Fox. He's my... nephew. He has nowhere to go, so could I please trouble you to give him a job here? Anything that can help him at least feed himself," Michelle said pleadingly.

"Mrs. Swift, a job is not a big deal. Don't worry, I'll arrange something for him," Shawna said with a comforting smile.

Her melodious voice made Dustin smile.

Who would be unmoved in the face of such a woman?

"Hello," Dustin said with a smile.

Shawna had helped Michelle, so Dustin was definitely going to treat her with respect.

"Where did you graduate from? What can you do?" Shawna asked warmly.

"I didn't go to any renowned school. I learned everything myself. I pretty much know a little of everything. should be able to manage whatever job you arrange for me," Dustin said. en Ebookex

His words were half-truths.

Indeed, he had not gotten any proper schooling. Yet, he had impeccable knowledge.

However, his answer made Shawna's smile vanish completely.

Dustin's explanation made Shawna think that he was a habitual liar who did not have any real skills.

After all, how could an able-bodied

young man not be able to take care of Michelle despite her circumstances? And yet, he was relying on her to ask for help on his behalf.

Shawna looked down on such people. She had a bad impression of Dustin.

"Mrs. Swift, I'll let him be a security guard, then," she said icily. Dustin's face stiffened.

He had been learning skills from Lucas for more than a decade and was the King of Hades. He was highly competent and had honed various skills. But Shawna was

guard?

He held such a noble position in life. If his inferiors knew that he was going to guard the entrance of this place, how was he supposed to maintain his image?

"What? Are you unwilling to take the job? If so, you may leave," Shawna said with a frown.

"I'm willing. Thank you for letting me earn a living, Miss Shawna," Dustin said with gritted teeth.

He told himself that he was doing this to repay Michelle's kindness. Suffering some indignity was nothing for her.

As for whatever desire he might have for Shawna... Dustin was not that sort of person.

Within less than ten minutes, Dustin was in a security guard uniform. He grabbed a baton and went to the security booth.

He looked like he was born to be a security guard.
