Avery’s pov

When life gives you lemons, you squeeze it in a mother f*ckers eyes. I wish life had given me lemons right now just so I could squeeze it in those eyes that pinned me heavily with contempt.

You may be wondering whose eyes am I referring to. Well those eyes belong to my ex, the guy I had tried to forcefully like. But was only repulsed by everything him.

You may also be wondering what on earth did he do to cause me to

want to squeeze the citrus fruit in his eyes. Well, a cour ago I overheard him in a conversation with a girl he usc

his friend from high school, I now know that she was way more than a friend all along.

*Five minutes ago*

I nervously walked to the dorm room Xade once shared with Kyan. The door is parted a little, perhaps he’s inside waiting for me. My insides twisted with nerves. The last we spoke to each other, it didn’t end on good terms.

I gnawed on my lips, clutching my book bag close to me as though it was a shield. If the necklace didn’t mean so much to me, I would never care to come here.

“I can’t believe someone like her ended up with someone like Xade.” A feminine voice made me stop before my hand can push the door open. I slid myself beside it, plastering to the wall as I eavesdrop.

Do you have an eye on Xade to?” Kvan hissed under his breath.

“Of course not! You know I only eve wanted you baby,” the girl squeaked “It’s just that I’m surprised auch an ugly girl like her ended. up with the campus

“If you finish that sentence I’m kicking you out Corn” Kyan culs in sharply, his voice full of irritation and anger, resentment.

“Okay babe,” she sounded defeated then her voice goes back to a chirp. “Anyway she’s out of the way now so maybe we can finally stop sneaking around. I hated sharing you

“Cora you were just available for quick f*ks. What makes you think

re girlfriend material?” Kyan taunted and I cannot believe that wast

e was rude, and disgusting to her. Despite her obvious hatred for me, I still feel pity for her. Still feel pity even though I got had been cheating on me. The revelation doesn’t hurt less.

I lean a little forward, sneaking a glance between the small crack.

I could see her, her eyes glossy with clear unshed tears. Then his bare back blocks my vision of her as he walks in front of her. My stomach twisted when his hand suddenly lurched forward and grab her chin roughly.

He laughed bitterly. “You can’t possibly think a girl like you would be girlfriend material Cora,” he taunted, his head leaning forward. “You’re too easy. You’re not that great and you’re not that good looking either. Get that shit out of your head.”

He used his other hand to press and poke at her temple.

She whimpered, and the sound broke my heart. Unable to listen further, I straightened my spine and hit my knuckles on the door hard. Hearing the knock, Kyan moved away from her and their eyes flick to

the ajar door

Peeling off the wall to not look suspicious, I move to be in their line of vision. The girl. Cora’s eyes widen in surprise and she quickly lifted. her hand up to wipe away the tears that trickle down her blotchy checks.

I had already seen them and even though she hadn’t been friendly in her words directed at me, I felt angry for her. She mumbles an excuse to leave and walks around Kyan and storms out of the room.

I try to not wince as her shoulder knocks into mine, causing me to stumble back a little. Kyan strides over, body stiff as a board,

*current moment*

“You’re five minutes late,” Kyan spat and winced, lifting his hand to his split lip to touch. Xade had really done a number

im. He looked awful. From his swollen eye, purple stains decorating them to his yellow coloring on his jawbone he look terrible. His nose also looked broken.

“I walked here.” I said stiffly, my eyes moving behind him. “Where is the necklace?”

Kyan’s dark eyes roamed over my figure and I squirmed, not liking the way they lingered on every part of me. He disgusted me. Why had I now only realized how much he repulsed me? I want to vomit at the very thought of ever having his lips touch mine.

Leaning his arm on the doorframe and crossing them over his chest, Kyan leaned forward a little. “You don’t honestly think I’m going bring it to you?” He shifted and opened the door wider. “Come inside and get it yourself Avery.”

With the wolfish look in his eyes, I should have known I’d make a grand mistake in stepping into that room. If only I could have known

what would happen soon. I’d never stepped foot in here.
