My Brother’s Mate -
Chapter 100
Emily's POV
We're running back to where I told my mom and the others to meet us. Finally, after a few hours We replace them. The first thing I do is look for my mom. When I see her I run over to her and give her a big hug.
"Emily!" My mom hugs me tight. I hold on to her. Even though it's only been a few days since I've seen her, I missed her a lot. I can tell she has lost some weight over our times running around, I'm sure we all have. Life is so different now. "How did it go?" She asks. "Did you guys replace the fountain?"
"Yes we found it and we got the tears. There's so much I want to talk to you about. But first we need to get everyone ready to head to the council headquarters." I tell her. She gasps a little bit.
"The Pures.. Is that where they are?" My mom asks.
"Yes, and that's where Cornelius is too. His blood is the last piece of the puzzle."
We get everyone packed up and ready for travel. This time we are walking and we're much slower. Everyone's worn out and everyone's tired. Once we are headed in the right direction, I replace my mom again in the crowd. She gives me a strange look. "What?" I ask her.
"Something's up with you that you're not telling me.. What happened?"
My mom can read me like a book. Ever since hearing that Mike is alive I have been feeling off. It just brought back so many memories of what life was like before I became the tribrid, or even knew what a tribrid was. Life was simple. And I know that even if I had stayed put eventually Luther or the Pures would have found me and probably killed me and I'd be a lot worse off than I am now, but I always wonder if there was something I could've done back then to prevent all of this from happening.
"After the fountain of Gaia, we went to No mans land to get the Tears. And I met this lady, her entire pack had been kidnapped by the Pures."
"I didn't even realize there were people living in No Man's land." My mom says.
"Yeah me either." I respond. "They called themselves the originals."
My moms eyes widen.
"What?" I ask her
"Nothing really, I just heard they are extremely powerful wolves. I wonder how the Pures managed to capture them." My mom says.
I didn't even think of that.
"They have a powerful witch with them. Miranda said they broke a spell that was on the mountains surrounding them. It was probably some form of magic." I say. "Possibly."
"Anyways, There something else.."
"What is it?" My mom asks.
"Mike was there."
My mom gasps "You saw him!?"
"No, but that woman I met said that he had become apart of their pack, and that he and their Beta managed to escape the Pures."
"I wonder how he managed to get all the way down there?"
"From what Ive gathered he must've escaped Millerborg and went back home, but he got banished by Colton after Luther killed Alpha James and Luna Jackie."
"What? Oh goddess." My mom places a hand over her mouth in shock.
"I know. It's terrible. Liam's taking it pretty well, I guess but I don't think it's fully hit him yet."
"Gosh. How do you know all this?"
"We stopped by the old pack to rest before we met up with you guys. Barely anyone was there. Colton, Carol and Jacob were the only ones."
"It seems like our worlds aren't the only ones that have changed." She says.
"You're right.. I think this has affected all of the other packs.. Mom, did I cause this?" I ask her.
I can't help but feel responsible. She freezes and steps in front of me. She places her hands on my shoulders and looks me in the eyes.
"Now listen to me. You have been fighting for your right to exist. You are not responsible for anything those people have done. They have done this, and without care of anyone else but themselves. Do not take on the burden of someone else's decisions." She pulls me into a hug. I hug her back. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my mom by my side this whole time. We start walking again, but we're quiet. Then my mom asks.
"So how do you feel knowing Mike is alive?"
"I don't know. I've been thinking about that myself. And I don't know how Liam feels about it either. He's still pretty shaken up after hearing about his parents. I don't think he's fully wrapped his head around it. We've just been constantly pushing and moving and just sort of going through the motions. I feel like one day soon he's just going to break down. He needs more time to grieve"
"We all do honey, so much as happened, and we'll get our time when this is all over with." She puts her arm around my shoulders as we walk.
"How was it seeing Carol? Is she doing okay?" My mom asks.
"She's doing fine, they're hanging on over there. Colton's sort of taken a leadership role.. He and I got into it a bit, he basically called me selfish and a bad Luna." I say.
"He's hurt honey. We all are. But we'll get it back." She says. We rejoin the group. We spend the next few hours walking to towards the Pure's headquarters.
"We're getting close." I say.
"Maybe we should send out some scouts ahead of us?" Cyran suggests.
"You think I haven't sent my men ahead already? You have a lot to learn my son." Sia says. Before we get too close, we have our army hang back and a few of us approach the headquarters. "What is that?" Liam asks. Outside the very large, castle like building looks like large animals laying on the ground.
"I don't know, but there are a lot of them."
"They look like black bears." Cyran says.
"They aren't bears, those are the originals." I say.
