Chapter 1338: Regulations

Kian maintained a polite smile, knowing it was not possible to take Daisy directly to Simpson Group. He softly explained, "Miss Daisy, it is customary in our country for guests who have traveled a long way to rest and freshen up before meeting. The journey can be exhausting, and you need proper rest. You represent Tillery Group in Hance City, and there will be plenty of opportunities to visit Simpson Group, so there is no rush."

Although Daisy was somewhat reluctant, she eventually nodded in agreement. Kian sighed in relief, knowing that if he had taken Daisy directly to Simpson Group, Ayan might have had him waiting on the building for disposal.

After dropping off Daisy at the hotel, her itinerary was kept confidential. The Tillery Group was concerned about Daisy's safety, given their influence abroad and the enemies they had made over the years. Therefore, Daisy's schedule was kept secret.

Upon reaching the hotel, check-in had been arranged in advance. Hence, Kian and the female assistant accompanied Daisy directly to her room. Daisy had brought along two attendants, a secretary, and a bodyguard, but none of them spoke Mandarin fluently. Kian took the initiative to introduce Mona, the assistant, saying, "Miss Daisy, Mona will be by your side during your stay in Hance City. It is best to have he accompany you on your outings as she is familiar with the city and can ensure your safety."

Daisy did not refuse, just giving Mona a brief glance. After settling in the room, Kian promptly told Daisy, "Rest first. If you need to go out, let Mona guide you." Daisy nodded, unfamiliar with the local time and asked, "When can I meet Ayan?"

Mona, who had been listening since they got into the car, raised several speculative thoughts hearing Daisy call Ayan by his first name. However, as Ayan was their boss, she suppressed her curiosity. Kian replied nonchalantly, "Rest for now. A driver will pick you up in the evening. The specific time depends on Mr. Simpson's schedule." Disappointed, Daisy nodded, refraining from insisting on meeting Ayan immediately.

After bidding farewell, Kian left the hotel room with Mona. He instructed her, "Your main task for the next few days is to accompany Daisy wherever she goes, act as a translator, and report the details directly to me."

Mona agreed but hesitated, showing signs of wanting to say something but holding back. Noticing her subtle change in expression, Kian asked, "What's on your mind?"

"Mr. Reid, what is the relationship between Miss Daisy and Mr. Simpson? Why does she keep calling him Ayan? Isn't that a bit too familiar? Mrs. Simpson wouldn't be pleased if she knew," Mona expressed a hint of displeasure. She had worked alongside Ayan's wife, Camille, and had a positive impression of her, so she was inclined to support their relationship.

As if part of a ship's crew, she wasn't pleased with external interference in their relationship. Kian hesitated briefly before whispering, "Don't speak out of turn. Miss Daisy is just a representative of Tillery Group. She will be having dinner with Mrs. Simpson this evening. How she addresses Mr. Simpson is her own business. Just focus on your job and report to me promptly!"

Mona nodded in agreement, and after watching Kian leave, she entered the room. Daisy's bodyguard and secretary were packing, with three of the four suitcases belonging to Daisy alone. Sitting on the couch Daisy caught Mona's eyes fixed on her diamond-laden nails.

In a low tone, Mona asked, "Miss Daisy, would you like to rest now? If so, I'll return to my room opposite yours. You can call me or knock on my door for anything." Daisy raised her head and instantaneously recalled something, saying, "You're Mona, the assistant, right?"

"Yes, that's correct," Mona replied. Daisy then asked, "Is Ayan at the company now?" Mona's expression stiffened, and she responded, "Yes, Mr. Simpson is handling work matters."

"How is his relationship with his wife? Is it bad?" Daisy inquired further. Mona wanted to say otherwise but abided by Kian's instructions, stating, "I'm sorry, Miss Daisy, but that is Mr. Simpson's private matter. As an assistant, I have no authority to inquire or speculate."

Not giving up, Daisy summoned her secretary and passed a subtle signal. The secretary fetched an exquisite gift box from Daisy's luggage and handed it to Mona. Surprised, Mona asked, "Miss Daisy, what's this for?"

"This is a gift for you, thanking you for accompanying me during my stay in Hance City. Please accept it. It's not something expensive," Daisy insisted. Mona shook her head and explained, "Miss Daisy, thank you for your kindness, but we have rules against accepting gifts. I hope you understand."

"These are your rules, but this is my room, and there are no outsiders here. They are my staff, so no one will know you accepted the gift. I believe a beautiful girl like you will appreciate it," Daisy reasoned. Moving forward, Daisy took the gift box from her secretary's hand and opened it. Inside was a beautiful bracelet from a luxury brand. She personally placed it on Mona's wrist, smiling, "It looks amazing."

Mona felt uncomfortable and said, "Miss Daisy, you're too kind. This is something I should do, and there is no need for gifts."

"I want to be friends with you. Isn't that reason enough? Please don't refuse me; otherwise, I will be genuinely upset," Daisy concluded.

Having grown up around Mr. Tillery, Daisy had witnessed many social situations and knew how to treat a young girl. She did not give Mona the chance to refuse and said, "I'm feeling a bit tired. I'll take a bath and rest. Let's have dinner together later, okay?"

Glancing at the time, Daisy suggested, "How about in two hours?" Mona agreed and left the room. Later, Daisy's secretary asked, "Miss Daisy, is it worth giving your bracelet to an assistant?"
