My Ex-husband Begs Me Back -
Chapter 1360: Surprise
Chapter 1360: Surprise
Daisy approached Ayan, but Ayan, sitting on the office chair, did not react at all, his expression cold and indifferent as if emanating a chilling aura.
After Daisy finished speaking, Ayan remained silent, causing Daisy's emotions to escalate.
She stared at Ayan, her voice becoming urgent as she said, "Yan, we are the most suitable for each other, and only when we are together is it the best. We just met late, but it doesn't prevent us from being together. If you feel guilty towards your wife, we can compensate her with money, any amount would do."
Ayan's gaze towards Daisy became even more indifferent, and when Daisy ran out of words, he lightly opened his lips and spoke indifferently, "Miss Daisy, it seems you still haven't understood my previous words. Do you think my temper is so good that you can constantly provoke my boundaries?"
Daisy's face stiffened as she looked at Ayan, unable to believe what he was saying to her.
But the man's cold demeanor was enough to show his emotions, leaving Daisy speechless.
Ayan's voice rang out again, "Miss Daisy, not everything in this world can be solved with money. Do you think Simpson Group is short of money and needs Miss Daisy to make decisions for me? Or does Miss Daisy think Simpson Group is inferior to Tillery's Corporation, believing that Simpson Group must rely on Tillery's Corporation to survive in this market?"
He questioned her one by one, his tone unforgiving, his deep black eyes icy and penetrating.
Daisy was left speechless by his words, just looking at Ayan, wanting to explain, but seeing Ayan's composed face, she couldn't say a word.
Ayan slowly got up from his chair, approaching Daisy with a strong sense of coercion. His eyes locked onto Daisy, his voice cold and distant as he said, "Miss Daisy, after you leave through that door, I do not want to hear you speak again. Otherwise, this collaboration seems unnecessary."
Upon hearing that there was no need to continue the collaboration, Daisy's face immediately stiffened, and she quickly explained, "Ayan, that's not what I meant, I just..." "Miss Daisy, this is Simpson Group. I believe calling me Mr. Simpson would be more appropriate."
Ayan didn't care much about this form of address, but Daisy was unaware of her lack of restraint. Ayan naturally expressed his displeasure, reminding her subtly that if she didn't correct her behavior, the future interactions would be mere formality.
Ayan's accusations prompted Daisy to refute immediately, "Ayan, in my heart, you are not Mr. Simpson. I like you, can't you feel it? Do you have to treat my feelings for you this way? Is it wrong to like someone?"
Ayan didn't want to discuss this topic further, gazing coldly at Daisy. As Daisy opened her mouth to say more, Ayan interrupted, "Miss Daisy, do you think it's appropriate to say these things to a married man? If this were to spread, what face would Tillery's Corporation have?"
Daisy's expression turned cold, unable to believe Ayan's mockery and sarcasm, her eyes filled with hurt.
Ayan glanced briefly at Daisy before allowing Kian, who had been waiting outside the door, to enter.
He instructed Kian to escort Daisy downstairs and arrange transportation for her back to the hotel.
This arrangement treated Daisy as merely a business partner, and her face naturally soured at the cold and distant treatment.
This was the first time that Daisy had been treated this way. Before, everyone had considered her status and background at Tillery's Corporation and had always treated her politely. This was the first time someone had not shown her any respect, even trampling on her self-esteem.
As Daisy left the office, her eyes reddened, but her character was too strong to shed tears.
Although she liked Ayan a lot, his words had truly hurt her. So, as she left, she didn't look back or say a word.
The office door closed behind her, and Ayan sighed silently, catching sight of two cups of coffee on the table.
He furrowed his brows slightly, picked up one of the cups, looked at the time on it, and something seemed to dawn on him, a faint smile appearing on his lips.
Ayan set down the coffee cup and stood motionless in place, lost in thought.
After a minute or two of silence, he took out his phone.
Sliding and tapping his phone, he entered a string of numbers, activating the speakerphone.
The call went through, but it kept ringing with no answer.
Ayan frowned slightly, ending the call before turning towards the lounge. His footsteps were light and quick, giving no one a chance to react or prepare before he pushed open the lounge door. Inside, Camille was lying on the bed, facing the window, unaware that the door had been opened.
It wasn't until she felt a pair of eyes on her that she instinctively turned to look, locking eyes with Ayan.
He walked towards Camille, his voice unusually gentle, "When did you get here?"
Camille sat up on the bed, looking up at Ayan, "I've been here for a while, wanted to surprise you."
"If it's a surprise, why do I have to replace it myself? Can't you come out on your own?" Ayan's tone sounded somewhat aggrieved as he reached the bed and sat down, raising his hand to gently pinch Camille's cheek. His expression and gaze were completely different from the cold indifference he showed Daisy, now radiating warmth and tenderness towards Camille.
His eyes seemed to be filled with water, exuding softness and warmth.
Camille brushed his hand away with a huff, "I was actually going to walk out directly, but just as I was about to leave, Daisy showed up. So, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to leave, and I was curious about why Daisy was looking for you. I didn't expect to hear her confession to you, quite embarrassing, but don't worry, I didn't record it, and I won't mention it to Timmy in the future."
