Chapter 927: Agreement

Chapter 927: Agreement

Ayan's expression froze. His demeanor turned cold, and his voicebecame indifferent, "The terms you've proposed are not what I want, sowe can't collaborate.”

The other party seemed anxious, "Then what do you want? Mr.Simpson, just name it, and we can negotiate! "

"What I want has never been a secret, so do I really need to reiterateit?" Ayan's tone remained icy.

"Mr. Simpson, do you really not want to make money? This project isn'tjust about immediate benefits; it offers long-term gains, and it'sobjectively valuable. So, are you really willing to let go of thisopportunity? If you replace the profit-sharing arrangement unreasonable, how about a 40-60 split between us?" The other party continued tobacktrack, clearly aiming to get Ayan's approval.

Ayan, however, remained unmoved. His expression stayed asindifferent as before. He stated, "It's not about the profit sharing, it'sabout principles. So, no matter what you say, it's not possible.”

"Is Mr. Simpson really pushing me?" The frustration was evident in thewords.

Ayan's lips curved into a cold smile, “I'm not pushing you. It's you whoinsisted on joining this project forcefully. The goals of this project werenever aligned with what you want. So why bother?"

"Mr. Simpson, how about we both compromise? It benefits everyone. Why take things to such an extreme? You're powerful with the SimpsonGroup, but can you guarantee that you won't need anyone's help in thefuture? I hope Mr. Simpson will think it over. Severing others’ interestsis akin to committing a crime. Mr. Simpson also has a family. Thinktwice!"

The words were a mix of threats, warnings, and reminders. But morethan anything, they were fueled by anger and irrationality, forced outwhen all other options seemed exhausted.

Ayan didn't respond further. He ended the call and added the numberto his blacklist.

His expression was now shrouded in coldness. Though Camille didn'tcatch every word, she grasped the general idea.

Camille asked, "Was that Mr. Mikkola on the phone?"

"Yes." Ayan's complexion wasn't great. His voice remained detached ashe explained, "He wanted me to agree to his proposal for the project tobe arranged according to his wishes. He's unwilling to sign theagreement, which clearly shows his unwillingness to takeresponsibility.”

"Who is this Mr. Mikkola, really? Is he trying to threaten Mr. and Mrs.Bell for their benefit? Or is he a long-term partner with Mr. and Mrs.Bell? Have you looked into the connection between them?"

Camille's worry was evident. This matter wasn't trivial. The interests atstake were unclear, and if they truly used such methods to gain benefitsover the long term, it could become quite alarming.

Camille's expression stiffened as she pondered this, "Ayan, if that's thecase, then the project..."

"Don’t worry too much. It won't happen. Mr. and Mrs. Bell have hadlimited dealings with him. If they really intended to use this method togain benefits, they could have confronted me from the beginning, or if Ifound out, would I let it slide?" Ayan responded with a detached tone.Camille nodded along, relieved by his assurance. She said, "As long asyou're aware, then it's fine. Handle this matter according to yourjudgment. As for Mr. and Mrs. Bell, even if they have their reasons, Ibelieve they should have been upfront from the start, rather thancausing such complications when the project is reaching its conclusion. It wouldn't be fair to the others involved in the project.”

Currently, it was clear that Mr. and Mrs. Bell were reluctant toparticipate in the decision-making. So, they could let Mr. Mikkolacommunicate directly with Ayan. The ultimate decision reachedbetween them didn't directly involve them.

Mr. Mikkola likely wouldn't simply give up at this point.

After much consideration, Ayan decided to change his approach.

The next morning, he had Kian contact Mr. and Mrs. Bell, “Inform Mr.and Mrs. Bell that the Simpson Group has other projects that I need topersonally oversee. I don't have spare time to waste on this matter, andI don't want to continue arguing. If they insist on following Mr. Mikkola'ssuggestion, then they can sign the agreement based on my proposal. This would benefit everyone. Otherwise, if the project drags on, publicenthusiasm about this project will wane, and it will be detrimental to theproject.”

Kian nodded, as Ayan's intentions hadn't changed from the beginning. He always thought that if Mr. Mikkola's arrangement was to befollowed, then they should sign an agreement that protected theirinterests. This was to prevent future troubles. It was just that Mr.Mikkola and Mr. and Mrs. Bell were unwilling to do so.

What they were hesitating about was unknown, and no one botheredasking.

However, Kian had his own concerns. He asked, "Mr. Simpson, what ifMr. and Mrs. Bell refuse to sign the agreement again?"

"Explain my stance clearly. If they can understand, then there's noreason for them to disagree.”

Ayan's brow furrowed, especially after Mr. Mikkola's words last night, which had touched his bottom line. He didn't want anything to threatenhis family, even though he wasn't afraid of Mr. Mikkola. He had theconfidence to protect the entire Simpson family, but even tigers hadmoments of rest. He feared that he might overlook somethingimportant.

So, when in doubt, it was better to err on the side of caution. He didn'twant to take unnecessary risks in these trivial matters.

Kian immediately contacted Mr. and Mrs. Bell and conveyed Ayan'smessage. Neither Ayan nor Simpson Group opposed any other plansthey might have, but Ayan only sought an agreement to secure theirinterests.

After two days of tense negotiations, both parties eventually reached anagreement.

Mr. and Mrs. Bell, Mr. Mikkola, and Preston agreed to follow Mr.Mikkola's plan, while Ayan, Dan, and Horace adhered to their initialproposal. The agreement remained the same as before.

Two identical copies were made, with one in the hands of Ayan and theother held by Mr. and Mrs. Bell.

Once the decision was reached, Mr. Mikkola's side began makingarrangements.

During this period, Mr. and Mrs. Bell personally visited Camille andAyan at their new residence in Franklin Bay one evening.

They hadn't hosted a formal housewarming party for their new home,as it wasn't something they wanted to draw attention to. Except for afew close friends, they didn't invite anyone else.

Mr. and Mrs. Bell had come unannounced, clearly with something todiscuss.

Camille and Ayan warmly received them, an attitude that made Mr. andMrs. Bell appear somewhat embarrassed.

Mr. Bell spoke first, "Ayan, Cami, we're here today to apologize. We'velet you down in this matter, so..."

"Mr. Bell, that's an exaggeration. The project doesn't just involve youand me, so there's no need for those apologies. After all, everyone hasdifferent thoughts and ways of doing things. The project is already setin motion, isn't it? So, saying these things now won't change anything, will it?" Ayan interrupted Mr. Bell's words directly. His responseremained gentle, without a hint of change in his demeanor.
