My Ex-husband Begs Me Back
Chapter 954: Wondering

Chapter 954: Wondering

Ayan reclined in the back seat, leaning comfortably against the sofa. The coldness in his demeanor was striking, and his eyes seemed toconvey a clear message to the three people in the room: he would notshoulder the consequences of their reckless decisions.

The atmosphere in the room grew silent, and everyone's faces turnedsomber, especially Mr. Mikkola, who let out a dissatisfied snort andsaid, "Does Mr. Simpson have objections to my suggestions? Why doyou always shoot down my ideas every time?"

“If that's how Mr. Mikkola feels, then so be it. So, are you agreeing ordisagreeing?" Ayan chuckled lightly, completely without any tact orpretense. Since the other party felt that way, he might as well admit it.After all, that was his real thought, and there was nothing to hide.

Ayan squinted his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the faces andexpressions of the three people. Seeing no response, he asked, neitherquickly nor slowly, “Is there anything wrong with my proposal, or do youthink I'm being too heartless?"

He smiled faintly, showing no signs of remorse for his words. In fact, heconcluded, "Since none of you have objections, I'll take it as yourapproval. So, with regards to the next steps, do as you please. I won'tinterfere, and everything will follow your plan without the need toconsider my opinion."

After saying these words, Ayan stood up from the sofa and lookeddown at the three people in the room. His gaze was as cold as ever, and he didn't say another word. He simply turned and walked out of theprivate room.

As soon as Ayan left, the atmosphere in the room quieted down. Mr.Mikkola's emotions surged, and he placed his hands on his hips, slamming the coffee table heavily. He said, “What does he mean bythis? Didn't he call us here to discuss? Why does it seem like he'simplying that we forced him into this?"

Mr. Bell's expression also turned slightly stiff, and he spoke in a calmtone, "Since he has already made his decision, let's deal with thismatter as soon as possible. Weren't you planning to meet with theother party in person? This way, we can show our sincerity and get abetter understanding of the other side."

Only then did Mr. Mikkola somewhat restrain his emotions; otherwise,he might have continued venting his frustration.

He replied, "Mr. Bell, you know me well. I'm doing this for the sake ofour cooperation. Right now, this is the most reliable method, but I needyour support to have the motivation to handle this. What do you think?"Mr. Bell asked, "What do you need me to do?"

"We still need to persuade Mr. Simpson. Although he doesn't agree withour decision, we are all part of the same project and the same team. Itwouldn't be right for outsiders to see that our project is not on the samepage, especially since our project theme is charity. So, no matter what,we should maintain a harmonious relationship. Do you agree?" Mr.Mikkola's gaze was fixed on Mr. Bell, and there was a hint of testing inhis eyes. However, Mr. Bell didn't say anything and simply noddedgently.

Because the club belonged to Ayan, and Ayan had already left, therewas no need for the three of them to stay any longer.

So, after exchanging a few words, they left.

Ayan had already left the club and was heading towards Franklin Bay.Kian was driving, and he sat in the back seat, staring out the windowwith a cold expression. He glanced at Ayan through the rearview mirrorseveral times before finally asking in a low voice, "Mr. Simpson, if youagree to step back, should we still go to Fola? It doesn't seemnecessary, does it?"

Ayan's gaze drifted lazily to meet Kian's eyes through the mirror. Hedidn't respond immediately, and his expression was chilly. He said, "Ofcourse, we should go. You'll accompany me. But we should keep ourtravel plans secret. Preston and Cora are both in Hance, and leaving atthis moment would be the best chance for them to meet. We need to doeverything in our power to prevent them from meeting. Have someonekeep an eye on Preston, and if there's any movement, act before him.The goal is simple: prevent them from meeting."

Kian nodded, a touch of worry in his eyes. "Mr. Simpson, if they domeet, and considering Preston's intentions to harm you, he will surelytalk to Mrs. Simpson immediately.”

Ayan shared the same concern; otherwise, he wouldn't be putting in somuch effort.

His face remained composed, and his expression was cold. He didn'tspeak until they arrived in Franklin Bay.

The car came to a smooth stop, and Ayan didn't rush to get out. Heremained seated in the back seat, his face showing no immediatereaction. It was only when Kian opened the rear door that he spoke,"What time is the flight tomorrow morning?"

Kian replied, "Around 6 AM. I'll come early to pick you up.”

"Good." Ayan adjusted his clothes, then let Kian drive away. He headedtowards the entrance.

Back in the room, Camille had just returned from Timmy's bedroom, where she had put him to sleep. She noticed that Ayan's expressionwasn't quite right, so she asked, "What happened?"

Ayan extended his hand towards her, and she hesitated for a momentbefore placing her hand in his. He gently pulled her to sit beside him.Camille asked, "Weren't you supposed to discuss Modest TempleHotel's matters? How did the conversation go?"

Ayan let out a silent sigh, his expression still cold. He replied, "We hada disagreement.”

She looked at him. "Mr. and Mrs. Bell disagreed with your opinion too?""Yes."

"What do we do now?"

"There's nothing else we can do. Let them handle it as they wish." Ayanspoke nonchalantly, as if it didn't matter at all. However, Camille knewthat he didn't truly feel that way.

Camille pursed her lips and showed her concern. "So, are you reallygoing to wash your hands of this matter? Can you really do that?Weren't you planning to go to Fola with Kian personally?"

Ayan smiled and lightly squeezed Camille's hand. He spoke calmly, "I'llgo there tomorrow. If anyone asks about me, just say I'm busy withwork. There's no need to reveal whether I'm in Hance City or anywhereelse."

"Alright." Camille nodded, understanding that he wanted to keep histravel plans confidential.

Camille let out a quiet sigh and asked, "I'm actually quite puzzled. Idon't understand why Mr. and Mrs. Bell have changed their minds.Weren't they initially happy with our cooperation? Why has it turned intothis when we're nearing the end? It's quite unfortunate, consideringhow well we got along with them. Mrs. Bell is a nice person. So, it's apity."

Camille's sigh drew Ayan's gaze towards her. He reached out andgently stroked her hair, his voice gentle as he said, "This is businesscooperation. One moment you're friends, the next moment you mightbe competitors. But the reverse is also true. It changes in the blink ofan eye. It's the harsh reality of business. Rapid changes are normal.”Camille twisted her eyebrows slightly and nodded. She didn't think itwas a good idea to get too close to business partners, so maintaining acertain distance was more appropriate.

Camille leaned into Ayan's embrace and asked softly, "How many dayswill you be gone this time?"
