Chapter 1066 Am I Supposed To Praise You

Genevieve glanced at her phone.

It had been hours since she had sent the picture of her and Sean, yet Armand had not replied.

Even so, she was not mad at him anymore. In fact, she missed him.

Genevieve sent a text before putting on the eye mask. The farmhouse was not far away, but she was tired from walking around the mountain for almost the whole day. Half an hour later, they finally arrived at the farmhouse.

The farmhouse was near the Dopdur Church tourist site and was the best-known farmhouse in the vicinity. It had a large land with apple trees and pear trees planted in the courtyard.

The weather there was humid. Not only that, it was the perfect season to enjoy pears. All the tourists were allowed to pick fruits from the trees and enjoy them on the spot. Along the way, Sean picked two pears from the trees and washed them before giving Genevieve one. She thanked him and took a bite out of it. It was rather sweet. "Mr. Faulkner, what are you doing here?"

Genevieve looked up when she heard her colleague's voice, and she spotted Armand standing in front of some of her colleagues.

He was wearing a casual gray shirt underneath his suit, yet he emanated a dignified aura.

Armand smiled politely. "I was dealing with some matters not far from here, so I decided to join you guys when I heard you're having dinner at this farmhouse." As he said that, he looked past the colleagues and fixed his gaze on Genevieve.

Genevieve found his gaze oddly cold. After swallowing the fruit with much difficulty, she took a few steps forward to place some distance between her and Sean.

The owner of the farmhouse brought them to the stove under the pergola, informed them where they could replace the cooking ingredients, and left.

The editor-in-chief, Macy Green, began assigning tasks to everyone. Genevieve was assigned to gather the vegetables.

After asking what vegetables everyone preferred, Genevieve got ready to leave when Macy piped up, "Hey, Sean. Tag along with Ms. Rachford and get a bottle of cooking oil if there's one. I bet she can't carry it."

Before Genevieve could even refuse, another colleague who had not left said, "Didn't you assign Sean to get a few bottles of mineral water just now?"

Right then, Armand offered, "I'll go with Ms. Rachford."

Of course, Macy did not dare to make their boss work, but Armand had already left with Genevieve before she could say anything.

The colleague who had spoken earlier scooted over to Macy and whispered, "Ms. Green, don't you think Mr. Faulkner and Ms. Rachford look like a married couple?"

Unfortunately, Macy was oblivious to that. "Doesn't Ms. Rachford have a boyfriend?"

"But no one knows who the boyfriend is. None of us met him before." The colleague shrugged. Suddenly, a ridiculous thought came to her mind. "Say, do you think her boyfriend... is Mr. Faulkner?" Macy was taken aback. "No way. Ms. Rachford looked a bit reluctant when Mr. Faulkner offered to go with her."

After contemplating for a while, the colleague realized Macy's words made sense.

We can't hide the look in our eyes when we like someone. There's no way outsiders can't tell if they're really dating each other.

Genevieve heaved a sigh of relief after they were a distance away from the main area. She asked, "I bet you came here because you had nothing to do. Why didn't you reply to my text, anyway?"

"What do you want me to say when you sent me pictures like that? Am I supposed to praise you for taking an excellent picture?"

Suddenly realizing something, Genevieve turned around and continued walking backward while facing Armand, her eyes twinkling as she asked, "Oh... So you came here looking for me because you're mad, right?"

Armand mumbled, "Shouldn't I be mad?"

Genevieve's lips curled into a smirk. She then pretended to trip on something, causing Armand to rush forward and pull her into his embrace.

Genevieve hurriedly seized the opportunity to hug him. His wide chest and pleasant scent made her want to kiss him badly.

Nonetheless, she suppressed her urge and pulled away from him, placing some distance between them. "Just stay like this. We'll talk more when we return to our accommodation after the meal."

She feared the keen-eyed colleagues would realize something if Armand treated her a little better.
