Chapter 1411 Not Allowed To Hug Her Or I Will Cry Too

The plane arrived at Baykeep Airport in about one hour's time.

The weather in Baykeep had been much warmer than in Jadeborough for the past few days. It took Jerry and his companions about half an hour to reach Mount Cokrekyo by car. Since it was not the weekend, there were only a few other visitors.

Due to the small number of people, the promotional team scheduled the shooting in these few days.

Charlotte did not like to hike. Even though her family went to Dopdur Church to pray and worship god every year, she never joined them.

Back then, she complained to Jiminy, "Dad, we live in a materialistic world now. What's the use of praying for blessings? If you lie around, God won't give you any money. You'll die poor before you can even receive the blessings."

Jiminy got upset after that, and he never had her come along to the church ever again.

Charlotte sat in the cable car and watched as the foot of the mountain grew farther away while the cross on the mountaintop became clearer before her eyes.

She felt regretful. If only she had not been so willful in the past, she could have spent more time with Jiminy.

On the way to Mount Cokrekyo, Jerry's makeup artist helped him with his makeup and styled his hair in the car. Upon reaching the mountaintop, they grouped up with the promotional team, and Joash took Jerry to change his clothes.

Charlotte did not disturb his work. She sat in a warm candle shop and took out her phone to sort out emails.

Once she finished her work and rubbed her sore neck, the shooting also ended. It was almost noon, and the scorching sun had driven away the chill in the air.

The ethereal hymn echoed through the speakers surrounding the square.

Jerry only came to Baykeep to shoot a promotional video, so he did not have a schedule in the afternoon. He and Charlotte were in no hurry to leave, so they took a stroll around Mount Cokrekyo.

Upon learning that there was an effective wish tree on the east side of the mountain, Charlotte took Jerry with her to check it out.

The evergreen tree was adorned with colorful ribbons of various hues, so densely packed they covered the leaves.

According to the rumors, the wish would be granted sooner if the ribbon was hung on a higher branch.

Charlotte went to buy a red ribbon and sincerely wrote on it with a pen: I want to get rich.

Jerry laughed when he saw what she wrote and asked, "Weren't you rich enough before?"

"But I'm no longer rich now," Charlotte said after she finished writing. She then went to buy a purple ribbon. Red ribbons were used to pray for wealth, while purple was for love. She wrote on the ribbon: I love Jerry. I hope he becomes rich soon.

When Jerry saw her first sentence, his heart skipped a beat. He thought she had understood something, but his excitement quickly cooled down because of her second sentence.

She still doesn't understand.

Charlotte did not notice Jerry's desolate expression. She tied a small stone to the end of the colorful ribbon and handed it to Jerry. "You're stronger, so you do it. Toss it up and let it hang on the treetop." Jerry accepted the colorful ribbon and threw it with all his might. The ribbon flew out and landed on the treetop. Charlotte saw that both ribbons were hanging on the top of the tree, so she happily hugged and kissed Jerry repeatedly.

As the two of them were leaving, a little girl holding a pinwheel came running toward them. She was not paying attention to where she was going, so she bumped into Jerry's knee.

Jerry quickly grabbed the collar of the little girl's down jacket to prevent her from falling.

The kid looked at the item in her hand and sniffled, then started crying, "My pinwheel is broken."

Charlotte did not take it seriously and said, "Your paper pinwheel is fragile to begin with, and it's broken because you don't watch where you're going. If it weren't for my boyfriend, you would have fallen and cracked your skull!"

Hearing Charlotte's words, the kid raised her head and cried harder.

"How come you're just like my niece, always crying so easily?" Charlotte pouted and took a banknote worth one hundred from her bag, then said, "Here. This is enough for you to buy twenty pinwheels."

The kid stared at the banknote in Charlotte's hand for a while, then cried again. "I want a pinwheel, not money. Ma'am, you're so mean. You scolded me," she complained while sobbing. Charlotte got angry at the way she was addressed.

She was about to reason with the kid when Jerry squatted down and wiped away the kid's tears. "Don't cry. How about I make a pinwheel for you as compensation?"

Charlotte saw him wanting to hug the kid and immediately threatened, "You're not allowed to hold her, or I'll cry too."
