When all that surrounded her was extreme pain, what was a little lack of food and water!

At that juncture, except for the pain nothing else could be felt.

Thirst, hunger... absolutely nothing.

"Looks like Ruth was pretty miserable," Yesseca whispered. "Even when she knew that this day would come, she still couldn't bear it, even collapsed." Preslie seemed to understand and yet not.

Yesseca looked towards her, "The Quartley Palace wanted to take away Ruth's child. She was reluctant to part with her son but she also knew that she had no power to fight against them. All she could do was endure the pain on her own." Preslie burst out then, "If it hurts to this extent, then just don't give the child to Quartley Palace. She gave birth to him after all! If she doesn't hand him over, don't tell me that those in the palace would assassinate her for it!

Yesseca heaved out a heavy sigh.

What Preslie said had some merit.

However, after having gone through various tumultuous experiences, she knew more than anyone that the world wasn't solely defined in just black and white, that there wasn't an answer that was absolutely right or wrong. The child was Ruth's, but he was also Zorion's.

If a mother had the right to fight for custody of their child, I was the same for the father.

Despite the fact that Zorion wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, he still had the powerful Quartley Palace as his backer.

Should the issue be brought to court, Ruth may not necessarily be awarded that custody.

Moreover, Ruth was only one person with no material conditions to her name. For that reason, the child's return to Quartley Palace may be a better choice for all involved. Ruth was definitely well aware of these facts.

It was because she understood this logic that she was willing to let go.

But understanding was the furthest away from acceptance; there was no way to avoid the pain it wrought.

All of these were also not something that Yesseca would like to elaborate too much on with Preslie.

As she had experienced many of her own hardships, she could understand how helpless

Ruth was, but Preslie was a different story.

"Since the child had already been given away to the Quartley Palace, there's nothing that could be done about it," Yesseca told Preslie. "Right now, it's best we put this behind us and avoid mentioning it in front of Ruth. Once she wakes up, we'll bring

her back with us to Agapel bring

City."

At this part, an oddly bright glint flashed within her eyes. "Back then, I managed to climb out of the most agonizing abyss. I believed that Ruth could do it too!"

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.

In a very popular bakery store in Agaphen City, a girl emerged from the kitchens with a fresh batch of baked goods on a tray.

That girl was Ruth.

On the tray were breads that had been baked by her.

It took Ruth half of that month to turn from a complete novice to being able to at least make decent bread.

Back when she first returned to Agaphen City with Yesseca, she was completely immersed in her grief.

She didn't want to eat or drink, neither did she want to move. She would have continued on in this fashion if Yesseca had not forcefully dragged her to the bakery store. "You promised!" Yesseca had said. "You promised me that we'll go into a form of sweet business together!"

Then Ruth was pushed into the role of greeting and receiving customers for the store.

It was said to be doing such, when in actual fact all she did was stand around the bakery in a daze.

Yesseca was in no hurry however, and let her be

Probably because the infectious joy

within the laughter and chatter permeated throughout the store.had affected Ruth in some way, she gradually took the initiative to speak with the customers.

Later, Yessecă also told her how when she was at her happiest, she would not think of anything and devoted herself into baking breads and desserts. She got so absorbed into the process, that she forgot the pain.

Ruth wanted to learn as well, therefore Yesseca personally taught her.

Even though Ruth could not forget all the pain throughout the baking process, she had to admit that it got better.

Especially during the moment when she saw the delicious bread fresh out of the oven, she could not stop the pleasant surprise that was revealed within her eyes.

"Yesseca, could you help taste this for me? Tell me what you think of the bread that I baked this time."
