My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey) -
Chapter 2622
Sheldon was a little sober.
He looked at Preslie, only to see that her face was red.
His heart skipped a beat.
He wondered if she was mad.
Sheldon thought that there was a high possibility that she was.
After all, Preslie was a woman, and getting ridiculed in public would make her mad.
He immediately apologized. "Sorry, it's all my fault for choosing such a restaurant."
"I'm fine." A hint of disappointment flashed across her eyes.
But it soon disappeared.
She thought, "Maybe he really doesn't like me."
Even if he only liked her a little, he would have confessed to her since many were rooting for him.
Soon, she was rendered speechless by her own thought.
What was wrong with her?
Didn't she already know that he had no thoughts about her?
Why did such thoughts come back when she was back in Nashaland?
Preslie coughed and decided to get to the point. After all, she had delayed it long enough.
She told him the story she made up in preparation for this, "My neighbor got pregnant."
Sheldon was speechless.
He was a little confused.
She was changing topics too fast.
After looking at her for a while, he asked, "And?"
She looked serious. "The child is not her husband's."
He didn't know what to say.
Preslie continued, "The problem is the husband thinks the child is his, and the family doesn't know either. In fact, my neighbor is pregnant with another man's child." Sheldon was more and more confused.
He thought for a moment and said, "Her husband and family don't know, so how would you know?"
Preslie was speechless.
She said casually, "I accidentally saw her having an affair with another man."
He was stunned. "How did you manage it?"
She was speechless.
She glared at him. "Why do you keep interrupting me? Do you want to continue listening?"
"Yes, yes," Sheldon said immediately.
But he wasn't that interested, to begin with.
If Preslie wanted to continue, he was willing to listen.
She coughed again and continued, "Tell me, should I tell her husband the truth?"
Sheldon said, "I don't think so."
There was something he couldn't say to her.
He wanted to say that she had the wrong idea.
After all, if the woman's husband didn't know about it, how could Preslie know?
Sheldon was worried that she would bring trouble to herself by interfering.
Hearing his answer, she got upset.
She said, "What if I insist?"
He fell silent.
She added, "If something like this happens to the people around will you pretend not to know anything?"
Sheldon said, "No one around me has done such a thing." Preslie was speechless.
To her, everyone in Quartley Palace was slow to catch on.
Ruth, Yesseca, and her were not i Quartley Palace, but they already found out. Perhaps even if the whole of Nashaland knew, Sheldon would still be kept in the dark.
Preslie couldn't help but want justice.
It seemed that Ruth was right.
If they didn't say anything, the
people of Quartley Palace would et
be kept in the dark forever.
Preslie took a deep breath and then looked at Sheldon, motionless.
