After the battle against Victoria, Jinora is helping me take off my clothes inside my room at Avery’s mansion. I’m sore from dying and being resurrected, and my head is a freaking mess.

Jinora smiles up at me, murmuring. “I’m glad you waited, and I’m so happy you’re here. With me.”

I return her smile and choke back a sob before throwing an arm around her and hugging her. She is short and smooth and absolutely perfect. I pick her up into my arms. I’m carrying her, yet I still can’t get enough of her scent.

I sniff her lovely neck and press her to me, hands on her fantastic round a*s. “You’re the most perfect mate I could have ever wished for…”

“No, you’re the most perfect mate,” she cups my face and meets my eyes. A smile is tugging on her lips. “My strong, sexy lycan. Gosh, you’re so good-looking. I can’t wait until after you’ve showered and I get to fully appreciate you. All of you.”

If I were in my lycan form, my tail would be wagging. I absorb Jinora’s compliments like a sponge. I love hearing them, and I lean in closer to whisper in a husky voice.

“You think I’m sexy? Even after seeing my lycan form?”

“Of course,” her smile is warm. “But you’re definitely sexier as a human. If you had been born in our world, someone like you wouldn’t even take a second glance at me. You would be one of the popular guys, while I would be one of your secret admirers from afar.”

“Bullshit!”

She giggles. “It’s true, but on another note, I must confess I’m not a big fan of your lycan form. I still can’t believe how beautiful you are as a human while your lycan form is… intimidating.”

“I’m just bummed out you replace my lycan form hideous…”

“I never called you hideous! And when I complained about your lycan form, I’m not talking about your fur or complaining about your eyes—I’m talking about your mountainous size! It’s scary!”

“Scary?!” I exclaim in an insulted tone. “I’m the most well-behaved lycan in my entire clan!”

“Doesn’t matter!” Jinora pouts up at me. She looks adorable, but I’m too outraged to hug her even as her bottom l*p trembles. “Your lycan form is like the wolf equivalent of The Hulk! It’s intimidating and scary, and I rather not look at it again!”

“That is so mean!” My chest is actually constricting. I saved her life when I was a lycan! “You’re supposed to be accepting all of me!” I argue. “I’m your mate, and I would never hurt you when I’m in my lycan form—I thought you would replace my size comforting!”

“Comforting?!”

“Yeah!” I return her pout with one of my own. “I can easily keep you and our baby safe in my lycan form!”

That makes her freeze. “Baby?”

“Uh-huh,” I bend down to touch her stomach with my hand, and when Jinora looks confused, I grin at her. This is one of my secrets; I have plenty, but this is one I wish to share. “When I touched your belly earlier, I had a vision—we are going to have a daughter.”

“A daughter?!” Jinora sounds both surprised and excited. Her eyes are sparkly but also filled with disbelief. It’s as if she doesn’t dare to believe my words are the truth. “Are you sure? You’re not making that up? Am I… am I actually pregnant, Kade?”

“Mhm,” I smile down at her and lift her chin with my finger. She is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, and my chest is only filled with warmth and affection for her. “You’re pregnant with my daughter, and you will get through this pregnancy. It won’t be easy, but I’ve seen the future. We will be one big happy family.”

“B-but what if it won’t happen now that you’ve said it?”

“It will,” I whisper. “Some of my visions won’t come true. They can be prevented, but this one will come true. I can feel it in my heart. You and I will become parents to an amazing hybrid girl.”

Jinora giggles and then grabs my head to pull me down into a violent k**s. I try to control her tongue with mine, but she picks the pace and takes control—wow, okay then…

Jinora giggles. “I know.”

My people might still be cursed to live in the other dimension, but I’m sure we can replace a way to save them one day from the curse of not being able to control themselves.

I know we will—I just need to keep searching. And with Jinora by my side, I’m sure we will replace the solution. She makes it feel like there is no limit to what I can do.
