Chapter 606 His World

That evening, Shawn received news that his people had run into trouble outside the border. His originalplan was to settle this matter alone, but when he saw Eilam, he suddenly remembered he was not achild anymore.

At eleven years of age, Eilam could start experiencing Shawn's world. However, he had never broughtRenee over.

After the helicopter landed on an empty lot, Shawn descended the helicopter and sat on a chairprepared by his subordinates while Eilam stood by his side. Since Shawn had not gotten much restrecently, he closed his eyes and took a rest. When Eilam looked over, he was met with the scene of aman sleeping peacefully and defenselessly.

Eilam had heard of Shawn's name long ago. His biological mother went to ask Shawn for help, but hemercilessly rejected her and did not care about her situation. That incident made Eilam's mother hateShawn because he could pull her out of her desperate situation, which did not require him any effort.All he needed to do was give one order, and she would be saved.

Yet, he did not do it nor show any pity for the woman.

Despite that incident, Eilam did not hate Shawn because he might have been young back then, but hewas at the age where he could tell right from wrong. He knew that no one was obliged to help another,and Shawn did not have a reason to help them. Therefore, he was not wrong to refuse.

As he declined to help, Eilam's mother ran to France and abandoned Eilam to marry a powerful oldman. Back then, Eilam waited for her to return, but in the end, he was out on the streets for three years,waiting for a mother who never appeared. Nonetheless, he did not resent her because she gave himhis life.

After those three years of abandonment, he believed he had repaid her for giving birth to him. Fromnow on, he belonged to himself, the heaven and earth, and not the Yonder Family or his biologicalmother.

Just as he was unbearably famished and could not replace a reason to continue living, he suddenlyremembered the beautiful woman he had met at the castle. That woman told him to contact her oncehe figured things out.

When Eilam arrived in Bryxton and heard from Kevin that his father would be Shawn Xenos, he wasshocked and spent every day in apprehension and trepidation. Even during their meeting thatafternoon, he was scared but restrained his fears. Shawn had sensed Eilam's fears and even took theinitiative to greet him. While inside the helicopter, he also spoke those fair and encouraging words toease him. He did not have to do any of that, and even if he did not treat Eilam fairly, the kid still wouldnot betray the Xenos Family or feel any grievance.

However, Shawn sensed Eilam's emotions and gave him a huge encouragement. It seemed like hewas kinder than Eilam had imagined and was entirely different from the man who rejected his mother.

The wind was blowing stronger, and the more discerning subordinates brought over a coat andwrapped it around Eilam. Then, they noticed their boss was sound asleep, so they brought anotherblack coat to cover Shawn's body.

Sensing the movement, Shawn opened his eyes. "What time is it?"

"It's 10.00PM, Mr. Xenos."

They were deep inside the woods, and it was chilly at night. After wrapping the coat around himself, heimmediately felt warmer and stood up, asking, "Is it past our appointed time?"

"Yes. It's one hour past the appointed time."

Sneering, he instructed, "Let's wait patiently." He then looked up at the starry sky, where the full moonshone down, creating a patch of white light on his figure.

Eilam secretly took a picture and sent it to Renee because she had pulled him aside before he left andinstructed, "Eilam, whenever you're with your father, you have to get used to being lonely because he'snot a talkative person. Wait, you don't like talking too, which makes the two of you the perfectcompanion for each other. By the way, your father said he'll be home tomorrow, but I'm a clingy person,so if you have some spare time, take some photos of him so I have something to look at when I misshim."

When Eilam saw Shawn under the moonlight in his coat, he thought this was when his father was themost handsome, so he took a picture.

Meanwhile, Shawn waited patiently, but his expression looked grim. It was not until half an hour laterthat two helicopters slowly approached and landed on the empty ground. He glanced coldly at thehelicopter before leisurely sitting back down on his chair and playing with the loaded pistol in his hand.

When the people from the helicopters came over, he handed the gun to Eilam and instructed, "Takethis."

"But I don't know how to use it."

"This is your only source of protection."

Hearing that, the kid grabbed the gun.

"Shawn Xenos, I didn't expect you'd come!"

Shawn questioned, "Where are my men?" The man in the lead made a gesture. Then, Shawn's faceimmediately fell after noticing his men were covered in bruises. "Are you trying to break the rules?"

When the man heard that, he chuckled. "Rules? You snuck your spies into my squad, yet you're heretalking about rules? You probably didn't expect I'd turn the tables on you and capture the men youassigned to guard the border, right? I know you're capable, but this is my territory, so you should listento me. What's more, I'm not afraid of your retaliation."

With a mocking smile, Shawn uttered, "Do you think you have nothing to fear because this is yourterritory?"

Then, he pulled out a gun from his waist and aimed it at the man's head. With a pull of the trigger, theman fell to the ground with a shocked expression, seemingly in disbelief that Shawn would dare to pullthe trigger.

The reality was that Shawn had killed him!

At that instant, the situation on the other side turned into chaos. He dropped his gun before calmlyordering, "Spare those who surrender, while those who don't…"

"Yes, Mr. Xenos."

The people from the opposing side immediately kneeled on the ground!

On the way back, Shawn returned to being quiet while Eilam hesitated before asking, "Is this yourworld?"

Shawn replied coldly, "Yes. A world filled with bloodshed."

When facing Renee, he would always restrain himself because he did not want her to see this side ofhim. That was why she would always stay inside their hotel room whenever they went abroad forvacation. He paid special attention to ensuring her safety.

"You seem to disregard the consequences when doing things."

Ostensibly, the other party came to negotiate. Otherwise, he would not bring Shawn's men over. Yet,Shawn did not give the man any room for negotiation. When thinking about it, the man deserved itbecause he was late and even provoked Shawn with his words upon arriving. On the other hand,Shawn was not the type to endure or accommodate anyone, so he would simply do away withdisobedient people!

At that moment, Shawn repeated. "Disregard the consequences?

He suddenly remembered an event from many years ago. Back then, he had just taken over the XenosFamily and did not trust anyone. When traitors appeared amongst his bodyguards, and after replaceingenough substantial evidence, he ordered someone to kill them without giving them any chance toexplain themselves. When he discovered the truth later, the three bodyguards he ordered to kill wereinnocent, and he was lucky that he still had the chance to make up for his mistake.

That was because he did not intend to kill all of them. The bodyguards were capable enough to escapehis chase until Shawn decided to spare them. Of course, they would not have become his bodyguardsif they were not competent enough. Shawn was lucky that what happened back then did not end withremorse.

Although he was living in a dark world, he was an upright person in heart and had done numerous actsof charity. It was also after that incident that he matured. Back then, he was only in his early twenties,and now, he had aged like wine.

"That's not disregarding the consequence. It's called taking advantage of the situation."
