Chapter 11

(Angel)

It's been a week since the incident happened with Tara. It's also been a week since I've seen my mate. Somehow, I had managed to avoid him at school. When I got the car running, Mr. Guy was stunt. Now that I had passed that class, I had no reason to be at school any longer. You're probably asking why I haven't talked to my mate about what happened, but to be honest, I'm afraid that if I see him or Tara that I would rip them to shreds and I don't want to hurt my mate. It's why I only went to work on the car when it was after school and everyone was gone. I don't want to hurt anyone, but Faith and I are still hurt by what happened. It feels like it was yesterday when it happened.

*~Flashback~*

I walked into the lunchroom. I'm beyond starving and I need food. I see Colin, with his Betas, and Gammas, but I also see Tara, Ivory, and Karen. I growled lowly as I continued to walk towards them.

'I don't like Tara' Faith said.

'I don't either' I admitted.

"Hey baby. Tara, Ivory, and Karen bought us all lunch as a peace treaty", Colin said. I looked at the tray that I assumed was mine to see fruits and vegetables on it. While everyone else had meat on their trays. Everyone was eating happily.

"Thanks" I said, turning around and going to the line. I grabbed two hamburgers, a chocolate chip cookie, and two water bottles. After paying for my food, I started walking towards the table. Just as I'm getting closer, I see Colin stand, grab Tara by the back of her neck and kisses her.

Everyone at the table gasped. Pain erupts in my chest, making me let go of the tray as I claw at my chest. fvck. Faith howls in my head and pushes forward. Alondra quickly stands pulling Colin from Tara. Colin growls, looking at Alondra, then his eyes land on me. His lips were red and swollen from the kiss.

'I'm going to kill them' Faith roared in my head, but I turned and ran away from there. I needed to get out of there before someone got hurt. I ran out of the school and across the street to the woods just in time as I lost control and shifted into my Lycan. I was glad when I saw Faith continuing to run away from the school. We ran until we got to the pack house. I could see the fear in everyone's eyes as they saw my Lycan. Then, I see Yashira. I didn't want to talk to anyone. After I put on a t-shirt and grabbed two pictures. One of my mom and dad and the other of my mom, my little brother and me. Back outside, I saw Colin.

"Angel, please-" I growled, not wanting to hear him. I quickly shifted, then ran back to my house. *~End of Flashback~*

I knew he would try to look for me there, so I stayed at a hotel for a few days. Now I'm back at my house watching TV. A knock echoes in the living room. I got up and looked through the peep whole to see Yashira. I opened the door and she smiled at me. "Hi sweetheart. How are you?" she asks. I looked at her and I knew I couldn't hide anything from her.

"I... I don't know" I admitted, then stepped to the side so she could enter, "please, come in." She walked inside and I closed the door behind her and locked it. She looked at my bag, the one I left the pack house with. She reaches inside her pocket and hands me dad's necklace.

"I think I found where your father is" she says, handing me a piece of paper. I opened it and looked at the two words. Whittier, Alaska.

I folded the paper back up and put it in my pocket along with my necklace. I stand by the sofa as she takes a seat. "Would you like anything to drink?" I asked.

"No, thank you. Come, lay down" she said, patting her lap. I looked at her and shook my head quickly. I love being a Lycan, but I'm afraid I'll hurt someone since I can't keep my emotions under control.

"You're not going to hurt me, Angel. Come" she assures me and I slowly lay on the sofa with my head on her lap. As soon as my head touched her lap a tear fell, followed by another and another. The tears don't stop falling and a sob racks through my body. Yashira runs her hands through my hair as she hums. She's giving me time to get it all out. I don't know how long I cried for. All I know is that I cried myself to sleep.

'Angel, wake up' I heard Faith in my head. My eyes snapped open and I realized I was in the same position I had fallen asleep. 'What is it?' I asked Faith.

'There's danger outside' she tells me and I stiffen. This can't happen here. Yashira is here. I can't let anything happen to her. I sat up and looked around. I sniff the air and almost gag at the stench. Colin told me that that stench was the stench of rogues. A low growl leaves my lips, making Yashira jump and her eyes snap open.

"What's wrong?" she asks, but I put a finger to my lips telling her to stay quiet and I mouthed 'rogues.' She stiffens and I got up, turning off the TV. Yashira stands and follows me to the door, but I shake my head.

"I need you to stay here" I told her.

"I can fight" she says.

"I don't doubt you can, but we have no idea who's out there. Maybe they are just passing through and you're a high priestess. Just please... stay. I'll be back as soon as I can", I said, and left before she could say anything else. I stepped outside and walked up the driveway as I sniffed the air. There was more than one that I knew for sure.

"You're a hard female to replace" I stiffened as I turned my head to the left where the voice came from. My whole body froze with fear as the man walked out from the shadows. He looked like Bernard just a tad bit younger.

"You found me" I said, then discreetly sniffed the air. He was a rogue, but the aura that came from him was very strong, almost like Colin's.

"I see you finally shifted, congratulations. Too bad you won't be alive to enjoy it" he growls. More rogues came out of the shadows and before I knew it a rogue lunged at me, but I stepped to the side, letting out a growl. My canines and claws elongated. Fur began to come out of my skin, but before I could shift completely, I was tackled from the side, which sent me flying to a nearby tree hitting it with a hard thump. I jumped back up to my feet just in time to see a rogue aiming for my throat, but I swiped my right clawed hand at his face. He whimpered as I roared at the man who was laughing. Bernard's brother.

More rogues came at me from everywhere. Suddenly, I felt a pain I never felt before on my left side as a roar left my lips. I clawed, bit, punched and kicked my way through the rogues. I stood with my back to the house looking at the rogues, but more at the Kerr brother. I could feel my body shifting back to my human form. Faith whimpered in my head.

'Silver' Faith said, but I ignored her. I had bigger problems in front of us.

"You're good, we give you that, but you're untrained" said another voice coming behind Bernard's brother. Four more males stepped beside Bernad's brother. I remembered them. They are also Bernard's brothers. I growl at them and I saw the older one smirk. "I like you. You have... spunk. Too bad you killed my brother. Now I have to kill you" another brother of Bernard's said.

"Make sure you succeed, because if you don't I'm going to make your life a living hell" I growled. Just as they were all about to attack all at once, they went flying. A hand grabbed mine and tugged me. I looked to see it was Yashira.

She ran behind the house, but my vision was becoming blurry. I saw her wave a hand and a bright circle appeared in front of us. I tried to stop, but I could hear the rogues right behind us. I looked down at my right hand that was holding my left side, only to see it was covered in blood.

I placed it back just in time to run into this large, bright circle. Yashira kept hold of my left hand, but black dots were starting to appear in my vision.

Suddenly, I was standing outside the pack house. The front door swung open. My knees buckled and everything went black.
