When Artemis woke up the following morning, he was already aware of the battle that he had to fight from today onwards.

But was he feeling about whatever happened?

Nope! Not at all.

He was with his mate and enjoyed every single second of it rather than attending some boring party on the day when he claimed his mate.

“Artemis,” He heard the sleepy voice of Caroline and looked at her. “Forward your ring finger.” She said in a low voice, on which he did the same without questioning her. Caroline pulled one single hair from her scalp and started tying it around his ring finger.

Artemis watched it carefully. ‘She better now ask me to keep her hair on the finger as a ring.’ He thought and stayed quiet and watched her chanting something, and soon, her hair transformed into an elegant ring with its solid matte black color and green accent, just like the color of her hair and her eyes.

“Wow!!” He mouthed, looking at his ring. “Ahhh,” he cried in the next moment when Caroline pulled one of his hair and placed it in the same from where she had pulled out her hair, and he watched his dark brown hair turning black and long.

“Done!!” She smiled and leaned toward him to k**s him.

Once they broke the k**s, Artemis said, “Regina, I know we kind of got married yesterday, and I should be spending my time with you to strengthen our relationship but… but I need to get back to work because I already took almost fifteen days leaves.” he paused before continuing, “Don’t think that now that I claimed you, your value in front of me has been less now. Or you have lost the power to drive me crazy.” he explained properly so that she would feel that her importance in his life wasn’t the same as before.

“It’s okay, Artemis,” Caroline said with a smile.

“You’re not mad at me, are you?” He asked to reconfirm. Caroline smiled and kissed him again to reassure him that she wasn’t mad. She knew a fifteen days break from work was a bad thing, so returning back to work wasn’t something wrong.

“I understand.” She said with a smile.

“Thank you.” he gave a quick perk on her lips before adding, “Now, get ready. We will have to leave for the airport because I need to be there before office hours. And it will take at least three hours to reach there,” he added without looking at Caroline who was rolling her eyes at his words.

Why would anyone spend three hours traveling when she could do this in three minutes, but then she didn’t interrupt his plan? In that way, she would spend a couple of hours more with him before he got busy with work.

At the same time, someone knocked on the door.

‘What’s it, Aiden?’ Artemis asked when he realized that it was Aiden at the door. He hadn’t opened his mindlink for anyone since yesterday.

‘There’s bad news for you, Mr. Gosling. The private jet through which we came here returned back to Rome without taking us on the order of your older brother.’ Aiden informed on which Artemis’s jaws clenched, knowing very well what his so-called brother was up to.

‘Don’t mind me saying this, Mr. Gosling, but your mate… she has the power to teleport. I haven’t seen her doing this, but she entered your penthouse in the same way without anyone’s knowledge.’ Aiden said that fact, which he already knew, but he didn’t want to use any powers or magic for personal and tiny little things. ‘You both can leave, and I will come toward normal flight.’ he added. He still didn’t trust Caroline completely, but… he couldn’t be the third wheel between them all the time, not when they both were already marked. Aiden was wondering how Artemis’s scent had been scent.

Or maybe because he was with Caroline, that was why he smelled like fresh grasses and jam?

Artemis closed the mindlink and turned toward Caroline to talk about it, but when he saw Caroline, he looked at her in confusion and then at his surrounding.

“What the… f**k!! We are already in our penthouse?” He asked in surprise, and Caroline gave him a guilty look. Artemis took a step toward her and felt slightly dizzy.

“Sorry!!” Caroline apologized, reaching near him. “I absorbed your energy a little bit because I didn’t have any stored with me. I’m so.. So sorry. Are you and Bolt fine?” She asked, caressing his face.

“I’m fine, Regina.”

“Me too, Mate.”

“We both have no problem in you absorbing our energy. It’s just that we understand that you need to store as well for Shaba and for other further purposes as well. I will keep in mind not to let you use your magic for unnecessary things or the purpose that can be avoidable.”

“This wasn’t unnecessary things. I heard your conversation with Aiden through this ring, so if I’m not wrong, then it was important for you.” Caroline pointed out. “And before you question the ring, let me tell you that this ring will help in hear your thoughts whenever I want without using any magic. Just like you and Bolt can do by entering my mind and hearing all my thoughts.”

“Oh, okay.” Artemis nodded and didn’t mind wearing that ring. After all, his thoughts were clear, just like his character, except for the topic of his sexy mate.

“Good Morning, Mr. Gosling.” Kane, Artemis’s assistant, greeted him.

“Good Morning, Kane. How’s your son now?” He asked, recalling that his son had fallen down the stairs.

“He’s fine now, Mr. Gosling. Thank you for asking.”

“Great. Now, update me with my schedule.”

“Sure, Mr. Gosling. But before that, I wanted to ask why didn’t you attend your birthday party last night. A lot of investors and shareholders are pissed.”
