My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) -
Chapter 385
Chapter 385 A Bit Old-fashioned
The figure of Quintina kneeling on the ground begging for mercy flashed before Donahueiel's eyes. He pursed his thin lips slightly and nodded.
"Her mental health is already at a very dangerous stage. I did it for her own good. Otherwise, there Ainsley be unpredictable consequences in the future." Donahueiel also felt uncomfortable sending his sister to a mental hospital. However, Quintina was always on the edge of mental breakdowns, and that was the best solution for her.
Besides, his tolerance toward Quintina would hurt Janet and he couldn't forgive himself for what had happened to their innocent child back then. She should pay for what she had done. What Quintina had done was no different than murder, and sending her to the mental hospital was the most lenient punishment for her.
Gilbert looked at Donahueiel's tired face and knew that nothing he said now
could relieve what Donahueiel had gone through. Thus, he had no choice but to pick up his glass and clink with Donahueiel's.
The strong alcohol slid down Donahueiel's throat and his senses were heightened.
As soon as he put down his glass, he heard a loud commotion behind him, a woman's scream and a man's cursing were mixed together.
They looked back and saw a fat man yelling drunkenly, holding a thin girl tightly in his hand.
The girl was beautiful, looking pure without any makeup.
It seemed that she was out with friends. She was wearing loose casual clothes,
but they still couldn't her sexy curves.
Donahueiel slightly narrowed his eyes, feeling that the girl looked familiar.
Searching in his mind silently, Donahueiel tapped the table a few times with
his fingers and quickly remembered the girl.
Wasn't that the model who appeared in the new promotional video of Peaceral Jewelry?
"You should have been thrilled when I asked you to drink with me. How dare
you refuse me? Who do you think you are, bitch?"
The greasy fat man started yelling and cursing the girl while grabbing her
wrist tightly.
"If you dare to run, I will..."
Before the man could finish his sentence, Doris felt he let go of her wrist all of
a sudden. Doris was baffled and looked at the fat man.
Then she saw someone gripping the fat man's arm, and the fat man was
groaning in agony, legs trembling.
It was Donahueiel.
Then Donahueiel shoved the fat man in disgust, and the man was rolled away several yards like a ball and hit the wine cabinet on the counter. Seeing what happened, the people around them all snickered and stared at
Donahueiel at the same time.
Donahuelel grabbed a tissue beside him and wiped his palms slowly with a graceful and elegant posture as if he touched something dirty. "Thank you, sir."
Doris was startled by what had happened earlier and thanked him with a low
voice.
"Go home now. It isn't safe here," Donahueiel threw away the tissue and said
casually.
It took the fat man a few seconds to react. Then he got up, touched the back of
his head, and yelled loudly.
"Who did that? Who hit me? Show yourself or..."
Before he finished speaking, he saw Donahueiel turning around and walking to him slowly. Then the fat man's voice was stuck in his throat. Donahueiel's shiny leather shoes stepped on the wooden floor of the bar, making a slight crisp sound, hitting the fat man's heart one by one, like a call
from hell.
The fat man's eyes were full of panic, he was so shocked by Donahueiel's cold expression that he swallowed in fear, and he fell on the ground, almost on his knees begging for mercy.
Donahueiel stopped next to the fat man, brushed off the folds of his trousers, and looked down at the fat man's trembling body.
"Don't let me see you again," he said with contempt.
Donahuelel's voice was like the whisper of a devil. Not only the fat man, but even the people around him felt a chill and couldn't help shivering.
The fat man nodded in horror and dashed out of the bar.
Donahueiel returned to his old self again as the man left and walked back to his seat expressionlessly.
Gilbert raised his brows slightly, and watched Donahueiel sit down calmly in
astonishment.
"Do you know her?" he asked.
Then a playful smile flashed through Gilbert's face. "Except for Anastasia, I
have never seen you stand up for any woman like this."
His words made Donahueiel pause, and then he smiled bitterly.
"Did I not do the same for Janet?"
Gilbert tried to suppress the corners of his lips from twitching as if he had heard something funny. Did Donahueiel forget what he had done for saving
her sister?
Gilbert didn't want to provoke Donahueiel. Thus, he shrugged and replied vaguely, "Compared with Anastasia, you didn't do enough."
As Gilbert saw it, Donahueiel treated Anastasia as a princess, and Janet as
more than a housekeeper.
Seeing that Donahueiel was sullen and silent, Gilbert shook his glass while looking around.
"Don't think too much about it. You'll get Janet back if you start mending your Ways,"
Was Gilbert right? Could he really get Janet back?
Donahuciel raised his head and took a sip of his strong drink. The alcohol slid down his throat, causing a burst of burning in his stomach. There was a calm determination in his eyes. Whether Janet was willing to accept him or not, he would do his best to make it up to her.
Once she stayed alone in an empty room and waited for three years. And now he would wait for her, even if took several years or more. "I'm sorry, sir."
A pleasant voice knocked Donahueiel out of his thought. He looked up and saw
Doris standing in front of him.
"I was in a daze and didn't thank you properly earlier. Why don't I pay for your drink tonight?"
Doris looked at the luxurious scotch bottles on the table, then noticed Donahueiel and Gilbert's suits, and wondered if she had enough money for it
or not.
But she had to do it. If it weren't for Donahueiel, she wouldn't get out of it this
easily.
Donahueiel's gaze fell back to the wine glass, and he raised his finger nonchGilberttly, with a clear sign of rejection.
Doris stood there, didn't know what to do.
Git Borus
Gilbert loosened his tie and broke the silence with his laughter. Then he signaled Doris to come to him.
Doris hesitated for a few seconds and stepped forward, then she heard Gilbert's frivolous voice in her ears.
"He just did that out of generosity. You don't have to thank him. Plus, your way of approaching men is a bit old-fashioned, don't you think?"
Doris realized that they had misunderstood her and denied it immediately.
"I wasn't. I just want to thank this gentleman for saving me earlier..."
"You don't have to."
Donahueiel put down his glass and interrupted.
"I did that because I recognized you as a model of Peaceral Jewelry. You should be clear that the popularity of new jewelry is booming now. If the chief model is involved in a scandal at this time, it will have a c
