At this moment, the room became silent and awkward.

I stupidly asked, "Did I come at the wrong time?"

Even the strange man understood what I meant and raised one of his eyebrows.

I kept quiet as I didn't dare to make any more guesses. I waited for someone to say something to spare me from the discomfort.

"This is Andrea's boyfriend," As expected, Hendrix still cared for me.

I heaved a sigh of relief but was subsequently baffled. Weren't Hendrix and Andrea supposed to be a couple?

Moreover, this man was younger than Cyril in appearance. He had the ideal look of a male idol group member. If he had thicker makeup on, it would be possible to mistake him as a girl. He didn't seem like Andrea's type at all.

"What? Never seen someone date two men simultaneously before?" Andrea walked in and chided, "One's just not enough for me. Do you have a problem with that?"

I finally found my voice and said, "No."

Her words were likely untrue and would not irritate me.

Andrea scanned me from top to bottom. Out of nowhere, she started treating me warmly, "Stay for dinner tonight."

Then, she looked at the man on the sofa and ordered him in a commanding tone, "Back to the room."

The man looked at me and Hendrix then caught up with Andrea. The two of them were acting intimately as they went upstairs.

Soon after, bizarre, blush-inducing sounds came from the staircase.

On the other hand, Hendrix bent down and continued to clean up the mess as though it was normal. He turned a deaf ear to what was happening upstairs.

I put down my bag and went over to help him, "Why don't you ask the servants to do it?"

Hendrix still had his head down while he was cleaning and explained, "She'll only feel better by torturing me."

I staggered back at the realization. Afterward, I understood what he meant. Andrea currently hated Hendrix more than me.

I impulsively wanted to ask if Hendrix had in fact selfishly decided on Andrea's fate back then.

However, after some consideration, I felt that I should believe him.

Hiding the truth behind the story was already a great torment for him. Hendrix wasn't the kind of person who would sabotage his good friend's sister.

Regardless, he still owed Andrea.

This also included me.

Since that was the case, I should take half of Hendrix's

responsibilities. I simply snatched the rag from his hand and said, "Let me do it. Go wash the ingredients for tonight's dinner. I'll cook later."

Hendrix, however, stood still and looked at me searchingly with his head tilted.

"What are you trying to do? Jeopardizing yourself to gain something?" He asked casually.

Or rather it was more appropriate to describe his present attitude to be that of disdain.

I looked up. His deep eyes were hidden under the shadow of his eyelashes, as unfathomable as before.

"Do you know what was on Emily's mind when she was eyeing the Reid family?" Hendrix asked again.

He didn't give me a chance to speak, "By kidnapping you, Aaron would satisfy any of her

conditions."

I was taken aback. When Emily said "there's always a way", I didn't expect it to be something so cruel.

So, was it for Jordan's sake when she sent me off?

After that, Hendrix left for the

kitchen, "We are not from the same

world. Go back to where you belong. I don't have the luxury to explain your relationship with Jordan in your place every single time."

Was this a warning or jealousy?
