I was so furious when I saw his expression. He looked as if he hadn't done anything wrong. I scolded, "I remembered locking the door, so how did you get in?"

"There is something in this world called a key. You wouldn't think I'm so stupid that I couldn't even use a key right? Besides, the spare key was in the study next door, and you were the one who told me to go there. It's not my fault." Jordan spread out his hands, acting like an innocent boy. It was as if he didn't do anything wrong at all.

"You pervert!" I rolled my eyes at him, ran away, and locked myself in the bathroom.

As soon as I closed the door, I quickly rushed to the sink and splashed water on my face. Then, I looked at myself in the mirror.

I was just hoping that nothing happened the night before.

A series of knocks on the door interrupted my thoughts. I heard Jordan lean against the bathroom door as he teased, "I remembered that you weren't this shy when you were in my arms last night." "Get lost!" I raised my voice and shouted at him.

"Haha..." Jordan laughed happily, and then the shadow under the door gradually disappeared along with his voice.

I didn't want to bump into him downstairs. Hence, I deliberately wasted time in the bathroom before going down.

When I reached the stairs, I even wandered around the hall to make sure that he was not there. Then only did I go to the kitchen and replace something to eat.

Unfortunately, just as I turned my head, I saw Jordan sitting quietly at the dining table while playing with his phone.

He was focusing on his phone. However, when I was about to turn back, he spoke to Minnie calmly. "You can go heat up breakfast. Arianna and I will eat it soon."

I had no choice but to give up and sit opposite of him helplessly.

Jordan saw me walking over. He threw his phone on the table and stared at me with great interest.

Noticing his gaze, I was puzzled and touched my face naturally. "What are you looking at?"

Jordan frowned and was a little confused. "Did you go back to sleep again just now? I'm just curious. How could you sleep for so long?"

What a typical statement coming from a straightforward man.

"It's none of your business," I retorted. I snatched the plate from Minnie, who just brought it to the table, picked up my cutleries, and started to eat. After eating a few bites, I vaguely felt that Jordan's gaze was still fixed on me. I looked up and noticed that he was indeed staring at me.

I paused for a second and gripped the knife tight in my right hand. I gritted my teeth and warned him, "Are you done staring at me?"

Jordan raised his eyebrows and turned his face away.

Soon, Minnie brought his breakfast to the table as well.

I quickly finished my meal, wiped my

mouth, and was about to head upstairs. As soon as I walked past the living room, I suddenly saw the man, who I had seen in the poor village last time. He came in wearing a suit. I quickly turned a corner, sat down in the living room, picked up an apple, and pretended to peel it.

"Mr. Jordan." The man in a suit stood at the door that was near the living room. He had a serious expression on his face as he hinted Jordan with his eyes. Jordan ate his breakfast without any changes in his expression. While eating, he replied, "Just

speak. There are no outsiders here."

I pursed my lips, feeling surprised as it felt like he was referring to me.

The man heard Jordan's words and went straight to the point. "Miss Sherwood's goods were searched by the police at a few of the places. The subordinates said..."

"What did they say?" Jordan asked.

The man looked at me and then looked back at him. He then

continued, They said that it happened after Hendrix had stopped by. Now, everyone is making

scene. Our people almost pped

with the people of the Sherwood family."
