My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 2359
Even though there were wrinkles on his face, he seemed full of energy. A body full of muscle made him look extremely fit. Those eyes were filled with a kind of terror like he was accustomed to killing. They
were like knives, cutting up my intestines.
The moment he drew closer to me, Jordan stepped forward and came between us.
"Stanley, whatever happened with the group has nothing to do with her," Jordan exclaimed.
Stanley's gaze swept over him and immediately turned cold and repressed. Though there was one more person between us, I still couldn't help but feel alarmed in my heart.
However, Jordan endured the repressing energy and didn't move away.
This was something unexpected for Stanley. He looked into Jordan's eyes, and his gaze gradually turned into astonishment.
It was as if he suddenly wasn't able to recognize him.
After a while, he raised his hands and smiled as he patted Jordan's shoulder. "Good, Jordan. You surprised me."
After saying so, he sat down with the glass of whiskey in his hand. After he finished his drink, he placed the glass on the small table at the side.
He crossed his legs and set one arm onto the armrest of the couch and the other on his knee, looking at us with much interest.
Perhaps, I should say something this time, but Jordan had warned me not to speak. If it wasn't needed, I must not speak. Hence, I might as well stay muted.
After a moment of silence, Jordan once again spoke. "Her staying alive wouldn't change anything, but I can guarantee that in three years, the group's profit would definitely soar. I just need three years, Stanley Just wait and see."
Upon hearing this, Stanley showed a knowing smile, like he was doubtful of Jordan's words. After a while, he turned cold. "Are you negotiating with me?"
Jordan lowered his voice. "I'm just telling the truth."
There was no longer a hint of mercy on Stanley's face. A gloomy cloud appeared between his eyebrows, and there was hidden anger behind it. With a fierce tone, he retorted, "Doing things right is your duty, not something you use to threaten me. Let me tell you. There's no one else you can trust in this world, except yourself. Yet, here you are dropping a bomb on me. You are digging your own grave."
Jordan was rendered speechless. He stood rooted to the ground like a wooden stake, not moving at all.
I knew all too well that this bomb that he mentioned was me. It was obvious, and I was not stupid.
Rosalie was right. Jordan's power amongst his people was probably weakened because of me.
Seeing that there wasn't a response, Stanley nodded his head towards Rudolph, who was standing on the side.
Rudolph immediately hinted at the bodyguards behind me, and the next moment, both my hands were held back.
Rudolph immediately took out a loaded shotgun and pointed it at me.
I quickly closed my eyes and was prepared to welcome death. Gunshots were heard at the edge of my ear, but there was no pain.
I opened my eyes, dazed. Jordan was in front of me with a bleeding shoulder blade.
The scene of blood gushing out, momentarily moved me. However, quickly came to my senses that
these three bullets could have killed him.
This must be karma, I thought
silently, Jordan, the moment you et
hurt my friends and family, this
t have come across yet
mind."
I was only paying attention to his wound. After quite some time, I finally looked up. I saw Jordan's pained expression.
He seemed to have read my mind,
and his eyes were filled with
grievance. However, I was stubborn enough that I wasn't even willing to lie
Finally, his body slowly fell to the ground, and blood flowed all over the ground.
Even so, Jordan looked up at me stubbornly. The pain had caused his veins to pop out, and his eyes were bloodshot. He looked pitiful.
"I'll take these three bullets for her. Let's just say that Arianna Reid is now dead. Is it okay, Stanley?"
