"Out of everyone I know, you're the one who hurt me the most!"

When Jordan heard these words, surprise flashed across his eyes but quickly disappeared without a trace, replaced by aggressiveness. "Don't try to reason with me, Arianna. In my world, you are the most unreasonable one. I've been tolerating you long enough. Why do you have to be so ungrateful?"

"Then stop!" While struggling, I touched Jordan's hand. I thought of something right away, so I took off the ring I was wearing and threw it in front of him, "This, I don't need it. I don't need the ring or you! I don't need a controlling freak like you!"

Ding, ding, ding...

The ring fell to the floor, made a few crisp sounds, and then rolled to a stop by the window.

Jordan released me the moment I discarded the ring. His eyes followed the movements of the ring until it stopped. His entire being was transfixed. He stared at the ring on the ground, stupefied.

The silence was like an invisible net weighing down on me, causing fear and uneasiness to well up in my chest.

In this uncertain situation, I wasn't sure if Jordan's tolerance had reached its end. As though abandoning all hope, I surrendered myself to death, "Go ahead and kill me. Make it quick."

Jordan stared at the ring in a daze for a long time. Suddenly, he walked over, picked up the ring, and held it in his palm. Then, he left.

Up till his figure disappeared at the door, I stood still like a statue. It all felt so surreal...

That ring was his only request to me. Despite seeing it cast aside just like that, Jordan unexpectedly didn't respond at all.

Perhaps promises never meant anything to that person.

It wasn't the time to think about these things. I can't imagine what Jordan might do to Sawyer. Maybe it was already too late, and there was nothing that I could do about it.

There was also Hendrix. Jordan had

already noticed that he was pretending to be loyal. In that nest full of cunning and dangerous vipers, he would have to fac@many

veiled schemes.

I spent the whole day feeling restless. When it was nearing dinner time, there was the sound of a car parking outside.

Currently, not even a fly could enter the Roberts mansion. There was no mistake that it had to be

Jordan.

Soon after, Jordan walked in.

He was originally about to go upstairs, but he turned around when he saw me in the living room. He placed a bag on the table in front of me and sat down.

I glanced down but couldn't tell what it was. I asked, "What is it?"

"A mobile phone, a bank card, and a car key," Jordan said flatly.

"So?" Why was he giving me these things?

"The guards outside have been relocated far away. From now on, you can go wherever you want," Jordan said.

Hearing this, I narrowed my eyes in doubt. Was he ever this nice?

"Don't be surprised. I just think that maybe we can get along with each. other in a different way. Since you didn't like the way I was caring for you, I'll change. Just as how you once said, I love you, while you're free to choose," Jordan's eyes were tranquil with no recognizable emotion.

I took the car key and looked at it, "So when I go out, no one will follow me around like a fly anymore?" "NO they'll be standing guard at a distance. I still need to ensure your safety, but I won't interfere with your decision," Jordan said.

I nodded. This was a reasonable statement. I tried to take advantage and asked again, "Do I only have the freedom to go out, or do I get to do anything I want?"
