Irvin didn't ask for my opinion when he ordered the dishes. Usually when he did that, what he ordered for me was food that I loved, and they were always unique to taste.

At times like this, I was convinced that Irvin would definitely spoil his future girlfriend rotten.

After all, he truly knew how to take care of people.

Handing back the menu to the attendant, he added, "Oh, and add a cup of flat white to our order."

"Of course. Please wait as we prepare your meal."

After the attendant left, I looked at Irvin, my chin resting on my hand, and I said, "You're going to have a daughter in the future."

He was surprised to hear that, and he asked with a smile, "How do you know that?"

I nodded, "Have you heard of the legend that says daughters are their father's lover from his past life? Since you're so good at taking care of people, it's obvious that you must have a lot of lovers in your past life."

Irvin burst out laughing, "When did you learn to predict the future from the past?"

"I just know-" I stopped, glimpsing the three people who had just come up to the second floor from the corner of my eyes. They were Andrea, Valerie, and Aaron.

Noticing the sudden change, Irvin looked over and saw what I saw. He turned his gaze back at me and asked with a frown, "Do you know them all?"

I nodded and looked away. My good mood from before was gone.

Aaron lost his cool when he noticed me, walking straight to my table. He grabbed my hand and asked emotionally, "Arianna! Where have you been?"

I grimaced and writhed myself free from his grip, "Where else can I go? I hid to give birth to the baby."

He frowned, "Then where's the baby?"

"He died," I answered, and I began to get irritated. I turned to look at Irvin.

Irvin stood up and pulled Aaron aside, putting distance between him and me. Irvin looked at Aaron and said, "Mr. Reid, we're having lunch now. You seem like you should be busy too. Why don't you join us later when you're done?"

Aaron's brows furrowed, and his face was gloomy. He looked at me and asked, "When did you get close to this man?"

I found it amusing, and I rebuked, "When did you start to put your nose in other people's business so much?"

Meanwhile, Valerie and Andrea had walked over together with a similar soft and gentle smile on their faces. Valerie's eyes fell on my stomach, and she said, "Miss Reid, looks like you still have such a good shape after giving birth to a baby. You really make us envy."

I bit my lips and clenched my fists tightly to hold my anger, and I replied, "You can pray that Miss Burton will be the same as me after she gives birth, Madam Lawson. Oh, by the way, I was especially careful during labor. Maybe I can tell Miss Burton what I did in labor later? I guarantee she'll have the body shape just as before her pregnancy if she experienced what I went through."

Andrea didn't know what I was implying, so she was a little puzzled. However, Valerie knew, and her face fell in an instant after hearing my words.

A hint of heartless showed through her delicate and elegant pretense. Valerie moved and stood between Andrea and me, and she said coldly, "No, thank you. We all are destined to experience different things, and we couldn't change fate. Not everyone is as blessed as you are, Miss Reid. Andrea had suffered so much before I found her. So, as her mother, I'll try everything I can to give her the best I can afford."

I scoffed.

As expected, a mother would do anything for her child.

I smiled faintly and said, "Then I wish that you'll always be there for Miss Burton to keep her safe from every possible harm."

"And I thank you for that," After answering me coldly, Valerie grabbed Andrea's arm and left. Before she went down the stairs, she glanced at Aaron and said, "It seems like it's unnecessary to discuss our collaboration anymore."

Aaron wasn't dumb. Just by listening to the few exchanges I had with Valerie, he could piece out the reason I went missing for so long. Looking right at Valerie, he said, "I shouldn't keep you here anymore then Madam Lawson."

At that, Valerie and Andrea left. Aaron sat down beside me and, holding my hands, asked why I suddenly disappeared for two months.
